This is a gorgeous palette that can create midnight sky-inspired looks. This palette is bold with dramatic and pigmented color that is also totally wearable. I am impressed with the quality of this palette and the nice assortment of coordinated shades.

The palette is nicely packaged in a well-padded box for delivery. Card inserts tell you a little bit about the artist-in-chief Nikkia Joy. The palette itself features a slim design and an artistic graphic look. It features a mirror and magnetic closure. The lip area opens separately from the eye and face colors. which is nice since I always touch up lips more than eyes.

While these shades are bolder than I tend to go for day-to-day, I find that I am inspired to create a more dramatic look with this palette for my next date night! The shades are flattering and work very well together. I was especially inspired by the sample looks posted on the Deck of Scarlet site for this palette. They featured a gorgeous winged-eye look with vibrant lips that I totally want to recreate!

I really like that you can choose each month if you want to get the palette or you can skip the month. Hello beauties! Are you ready for another GLOSSYBOX box opening? I sure am!!! As ya'll know, I eagerly anticipate the arrival of my beloved GLOSSYBOX every month. What goodies will this month bring? I can't wait to rip inside this package and find out! :)

"What is GLOSSYBOX" you say?
GLOSSYBOX is a luxury beauty sample box subscription. You pay $21.00 per month and get a beautifully presented and wrapped box of 5 deluxe beauty samples (Which includes one full-sized item!). This beauty sample subscription is more than double the price of Birchbox. Birchbox continues to be my favorite beauty sample subscription at $10 per month. Also, Birchbox is the beauty subscription that I compare all other subscriptions to (my "Gold Standard" of beauty boxes!).

I am new to GLOSSYBOX and GLOSSYBOX is also new to the USA (but has been wildly popular across the globe for quite awhile! Thanks for finally coming to the US!). So, I am still getting a "feel" for this subscription. Is it worth the higher price tag? Sure, Julep is also $20.00 per month. But, the difference here is that Julep offers all full-sized products in their Julep Maven Boxes and you also get to choose which box you get (Julep has never disappointed me!). So far, I have been extremely pleased with GLOSSYBOX! Both their special edition Blogger GLOSSYBOX and May/June's box were fabulous! So, I must admit, my hopes are really high for this July GLOSSYBOX!!!

You can give GLOSSYBOX feedback on your GLOSSYBOX sample items to earn "Glossydots". You get 20 Glossydots for each feedback item. Taget Beauty Sample Bag opening: Arrived today! Whoo-hoo!

Just a quick post here to let you know that my Target "Beauty is my Bag" Beauty Sample Bag arrived today! It seems to be the week for beauty sample posting! :)

If ya'll missed out on signing up for a Target "Beauty is my Bag" sample bag, be sure to keep checking (stalking) the Target website and Target facebook page for the next beauty bag. These seem to be coming out quarterly or one per season. The last one for Spring was a combo deal where you got one with a Target order. But, there was no purchase necessary for this one (or any of the previous bags besides the Spring one). That is right, this bag was totally free! What is better? The samples are just fab and the bag is totally cute! With all of the paid beauty sample subscriptions out there, it is nice to see what a nice bag one can get for *free*!

My Glam: May Glam Bag "Bag Opening" (I'm done!)

Well ladies, I am officially done with My Glam. This will be my last "Bag Opening" post for My Glam's Glam Bag. Rather than continue to be underwhelmed with this beauty sample subscription, I just decided to cancel.

If you follow my My Glam Glam Bag "Bag Opening" posts you know that the Glam Bags have really varied in their quality and contents. Some have been pretty good and others were lacking. But, none of them were spectacular. I subscribed for 4 months: February Glam Bag, March Glam Bag, April Glam Bag, and May.

I must admit, my expectations for beauty sample subscriptions are very high. What can I say? My favorite beauty subscription, Birchbox, has set the bar pretty high with their beautiful wrapped Birchboxes (that contain deluxe samples from high end or boutique brands for $10 per month). I am used to beauty subscriptions being worth far more than the $10-$20 cost per month. Julep is another good one with pretty boxes and nice nail products. I am still on the fence about subscribing to Beauty Army. I keep getting the invite. But, when I go to look at the samples, I just can't seem to get interested. Their samples are good, I just don't need that much skincare with all the product testing that I do. Since I just cancelled My Glam, I decided to get a subscription to Glossybox! March 2012 Birchbox: The Teen Vogue Box (Box Opening)

It is finally here! My March 2012 special edition Teen Vogue Birchbox has arrived! Woot-woot! As you can tell, I have been highly anticipating this box. In the vast sea of beauty sample subscriptions these days, Birchbox continues to be (in my opinion) the best beauty sample service out there. This March Teen Vogue box is such an example of this!

Am I a teen, lol! not by a long-shot (but I sure do feel like one most of the time...we are only as young as we feel, right?). But, I do tend to lean towards "trendy" makeup at times. So, Birchbox surprised me yesterday with an earlier-than-expected delivery! What a great idea for Birchbox to ship out this month's Birchbox early so that it would arrive before Mother's Day! Very fitting considering that this month's theme is Mother's Day!!! Typically my Birchboxes arrive between the 10th-12th, but this month's arrived right on the 7th!

The info card states "Mom Knows Best"; so, the box is filled with classically elegant products. This month's selections are timeless and will "always be in style, just like Mom".

If you are not familiar with Birchbox, it is a monthly sample subscription of a gift box filled with 4-5 deluxe sized samples plus a "treat" and an "extra". Birchbox Goes Green!!! April 2011 Birchbox: Box Opening

Hello my dears! 

It's time for my monthly Birchbox "Haul" or "Box Opening" post! As ya'll may know, I subscribe to Birchbox which is a monthly sample subscription ($10 per month) from Birchbox.com. Every month, I get a wonderful package delivered right to my door sometime between the 10th and 15th filled with 4-5 deluxe samples. The samples are all beauty related: skincare, makeup, hair care, fragrance, and also a little "birchbox treat" which varies monthly. Each box has a "theme" and comes beautifully wrapped. It is like getting a little present in the mail every month!
