NEW Retinol Collection from Pixi Skintreats:

Exciting news for Pixi Skintreats lovers! Pixi's Retinol Tonic is a fan favorite. So, the brand has expanded and created an entire Retinol line. Petra, Pixi's founder, created four additional products to launch a collection of products that now includes: Retinol Jasmine Cleanser, Retinol Eye Cream, Retinol Jasmine Lotion and Overnight Retinol Oil.

These Retinol-focused products, contain a unique time-released retinol (allowing the products to be used by even those with sensitive skin). There’s a new Cleanser, Lotion, Eye Cream & Overnight Oil.  So exciting!

Now, ya'll know that I use Rx Retin-A. So, keep that in mind. However, I do not use Retin-A every night. I average about 4 nights a week. On off nights, I use facial masks, or regular moisturizers, or products containing retinol. So, I do use retinol products on my face. However, it is not all that I use. For other areas (neck, chest, backs of hands), Retinol products are my go-to for anti-aging. So, I have been testing out this full assortment every/other night on my neck/chest/hands and a few nights a week on my face. Overall, I am loving the combined use of these products. They are gentle enough for my sensitive skin. Yet, I believe they are making an anti-aging impact. 

The Pixi Skintreats Retinol Collection At-a-Glance:

• Overnight Retinol Oil: This soothing oil plumps and soothes while delivering Retinol to your skin. It only takes a few drops. I love oils because you don't use them in place of your moisturizer. You use them in addition to your moisturizer you are already using. So, it really is a skin boost. Just just pat a few drops onto your face after cleansing and before your usual moisturizer. 

• Retinol Jasmine Lotion: This is an antioxidant-rich retinol and peptide moisturizer. I like this one for my neck in particular. It pairs nicely with the Retinol Jasmine Cleanser. 

• Retinol Jasmine Cleanser: This cleanser is fantastic! It is a gentle creamy cleanser that leaves my skin feeling super hydrated and clean. I love it! 

• Retinol Eye Cream: I do use Retinol eye cream every night. So, I have switched to this eye cream consistantly every night. It smoothes the delicate eye area to minimize fine lines. 

• Retinol Tonic: This is a retinol and antioxidant toner. You guys know that I LOVE Pixi's Glow Tonic. So, this hasn't totally replaced that for me...but, I do like it, too, and I am pretty much rotating between Glow Tonic and this Retinol Tonic. What can I say, Pixi Skintreats does toners very, very well. 

In addition to the Retinol launch, Pixi also has a new Blemish Solution: Zero Zit – it’s an amazing lightweight gel-formula spot treatment with sulfur & salicylic acid to control oil & treat the blemish … but it also has aloe vera which makes it super soothing and moisturizing on the skin. It is a fantastic spot treatment!

You all know that I love doing weekly mask treatments. I just love my home "spa" nights! So, I am in the process of rotating these adorable Scentbird masks depending on what my skin needs at the moment. Right now, I am gravitating more towards the Amethyst Calming Cooling Mask to combat the effects of a busy Summer schedule and more sun exposure to my face. This mask is so soothing to my somewhat sensitive skin. I just love using it!

Fresh Spring Skincare from Erborian Korean Skin Therapy:

Every season, I like to update my skincare and explore new products. lol, I know, I know, I am a beauty blogger and I am constantly exploring! However, I do tend to stick to some tried-and-true products. Also, I do vary my skincare seasonally. My skin's needs change and shift with the warmer months. I tend to wear less makeup overall. Also, I tend to look for lightweight products and products to help mattify my skin to help combat the effects of the rising humidity. 

I am super excited about some recent additions to my skincare routine from Erborian. Some are products I have previously tried and love (just added back into the rotation) and some are new-to-me! 

Erborian | Cleansing Water: 

This is a product that I already know and love! I am just coming back to it. I am such a fan of using cleansing waters to remove my makeup. In the Fall and Winter, I tend to go for an oil cleanse to remove my makeup for added hydration and for removal of heavier makeup looks. However, in the Summer I go much lighter with my makeup and do not need as heavy-duty of a removal process. 

So, since in the Spring and Summer, I go even lighter than ever with my makeup, I find that I only need a few swipes of a cleansing water to remove my makeup before cleansing my skin with a traditional cleanser. This Cleansing Water by Erborian is fantastic! It is a 3-in-1 Micellar Water which refreshes your skin, removes makeup, and provides a light cleansing. For some, this might be the only cleansing you need. However, for me, I always like to follow it up with a tranditional cleanse because Micellar waters, in general-for me, can cause some slight irritation to my eye area if I allow the residue to remain on my skin. If you wear heavier makup, this micellar water might not have enough oomph to remove your makeup. However, if you just wear light weight makeup like me, this will be all you need! This product is a total winner for me! 

Eroborian | Extra Matte Ultra Mattifying Primer:

One of my biggest struggles with the change of season is oily skin! My skin is generally speaking combo skin. I get a few dry patches here-and-there from Retin-A use. However, in the warmer months, I do tend to get much more oily in the t-zone. This presents a problem when I am wearing any makeup. It looks oily within a few hours. A mattifying primer underneath is a must for when I am wearing makeup that I want to last!

This mattifying primer from Erborian is a great option. It is unique in that it is both moisturizing and mattifying at the same time. That is a feat! It is packed with good skincare ingredients, too. So, you can feel good about applying it to your skin.

I like to use this product just on my t-zone area as that is where I tend to get more oily and where my makeup does not last as long. There is no question, this product extends the wear of my makeup for a few hours. I am super pleased with this primer and totally recommend it! 

Erborian | Touch Pen:
This is a unique product. It gives light to medium (buildable) coverage. It has a light luminosity to it. I find the formula to be long wearing and resistant to creases and settling into fine lines. This makes it great for the eye area. Now, I do have very dark under eye circles. So, this product does not cover them completely. Only a very high coverage concealer will do that for me. However, I do not always want to wear something heavy. I go very light with my makeup in the summers and will sacrifice complete coverage for my under eye circles for something with a lighter and brighter feel like this product. Plus, this product is packed with good skin-loving anti-aging and depuffing ingredients. So, you are really applying good ingredients to your eye area when you wear this. The fair color is not a perfect match to my skin. However, once I blend it, it looks fine. I do wish that it was available in more than 2 shades though. If I want heavier coverage, I can use the Erborian Touch Pen all over my eye area and then go in with something higher coverage just in my very dark circle areas. So, when I layer it, it works best for me coverage-wise. 

Overall, these are all winners for me from Erborian! What do you like from this line? I would love to hear your recs and explore Erborian further.

Who else loves face masks? I love giving myself spa facials at home. So, I am always down to try out a new mask...especially when they are as cute as these new ones from I Dew Care.

I Dew Care Ice Cream Collection: 

There is no question, these uber-cutely packaged masks totally make me smile...before I even tried them with their cuteness. However, the product inside really is equally as good as the cute packaging promises. 

Cake My Day ($25) – Inspired by soft serve ice cream, this mask is formulated with hyaluronic acid, squalene, and glacier water to nourish and hydrate skin

Matcha Mood ($25) – Formulated with matcha and vitamin B3 that work to soothe skin while improving its texture and tone

Berry Groovy ($25) – Treat yourself to your “Berry Best” skin with raspberry extract and strawberry seeds that create a radiant complexion

These masks are super easy and fun to use. Here is what I do:

• Wash face with gentle cleanser
• Pat dry
• Apply a generous amount of an I Dew Care mask to your face avoiding lips and eye area. 
• Relax and leave on for 5-10 minutes. Seriously, the relaxing part is key for a total home spa experience. Make yourself some herbal tea, some lemon water, or if you are feeling for something with more kick, maybe some wine ;) 
• Rinse off with tepid water and smooth strokes with your hands. 

I honestly like and need all of these masks in my collection. With my tempermental combo skin, my mask needs vary. Sometimes my skin is irritated and I need something soothing and hydrating, sometimes my skin seems super oily and blemish prone, and sometimes I want a mask with an anti-aging kick. Well, with these three masks, I have a mask product to target all of those skincare troubles. So, I can't pick a favorite of these. I honestly enjoy them all. I will note, they are heavily fragranced. So, just keep in mind if fragrance bothers you. Sometimes fragrance irritates me in skincare, but I did not get irritated from these masks. While the fragrance is significant in these, they are enjoyable scents. I particularly like the berry scent of the Berry Groovy mask!

Who else is tired Winter? lol! I know that I sure am. Well, Pixi beauty has such a beautiful lineup of products to get you inspired for glowing skin and makeup for the upcoming warmer months ahead. Let's dive right in to talking about some of my recent favorites from Pixi! :)

Pixiglow Cake 3-in-1 Luminous Transition Powder:

You guys might remember that I have a bit of a thing for blush. Well, I just about swooned when I first saw these *huge* Pixiglow Cakes! These light diffusing cheek powders can give you gorgeous contouring, color, and highlight depending on where you place your brush on your pan and on your face. You can use via solo swipes or swirl all together to customize your own beautiful look. The powder is soft and blendable which makes it super easy to apply. It reflects light subtly. So, you don't have to worry about being too shiny or sparkly with these. Plus, they are packed with good-for-your-skin ingredients like plumping peptides and grape seed extract. There are two shades. One is more of a peach and one is more of a pink. :) 

Liquid Fairy Lights:

These are long-wearing liquid glittery eyeshadows. They are gorgeous!!! These are super easy to apply. You literally just swipe these on your lids and you are all set. I got to try out a couple shades: Crystalline (a shimmery white) and BareBrilliance (a light taupey brown). I adore these and really want to try out more shades. There are 7 shades total. Plus, they are infused with chamomile and rose extracts to soothe and hydrate your skin. 

Pixi Skintreats Rose Ceramide Cream Intensive Moisturizer: 

Oooooh! I just love Ceramide in my skincare products. As I *cough* age, I am becoming more and more concious and selective of my skincare and the ingredients in said skincare. I have learned that Ceramides are one of the best ingredients that you can have to hydrate and renew the skin. Moisturizers with Ceramides in them just seem to work better! This ultra-rich cream from Pixi Skintreats is infused with both Ceramides and Rose Oil to give your skin a great look and feel. Plus, it is antioxidant rich to help protect your skin as well. This feels so nourishing on my Winter-dry skin. It absorbs quickly and leaves my skin feeling hydrated and balanced.

Have you seen these new C & C products from Clean & Clear? This ingredient-focused line is my husband's new choice for skincare! The black packaging and straightforward packaging really appealed to him. Plus, he tends to reach for items designed to keep his pores clear.

How do you pick out skincare? Do you tend to go for key ingredients? I know that I do that a lot of the time. This line has some standout products with each one focusing on a key ingredient.

Focus on: Mint
C&C by Clean & Clear Chill Out Cooling Mint Pore Cleanser - This oil-free, minty face wash delivers a cooling effect while cleansing deep into pores. This one was a hit for my husband. He always gravitates towards minty cleansers. So, he really loves this and enjoys the clean feel.

Focus on: Lavender
C&C by Clean & Clear Total Zen Calming Lavender Mousse Cleanser - Specially formulated for sensitive skin, this oil-free foaming mousse face wash calms your senses with lavender, while it cleanses dirt and oil. I really enjoy lavender in the evening (I frequently diffuse it at night when I am sleeping). I did find this cleanser to be a little bit drying. However, I am using prescription Retin-A which makes my skin more prone to dryness and irritation.

Focus on: Eucalyptus
C&C by Clean & Clear Muscle Bar Charcoal Cleansing Bar - Packed with impurity-busting charcoal and a delicious eucalyptus scent, this oil-free bar soap breaks up dirt and gently washes away impurities from your face and body.

Focus on: Coffee
C&C by Clean & Clear Black Out Blackhead Clearing Coffee Scrub - This oil-free, coffee-scented blackhead scrub gently exfoliates and cleanses deep into pores. Salicylic acid also helps combat active breakouts and fights to prevent future acne.

Focus on: Peppermint 
C&C by Clean & Clear Tough Love Acne Clearing Peppermint Toner - This oil-free, peppermint face toner fights acne and cleans pores for a deep clean. Salicylic acid and glycerin helps clear whiteheads and blackheads while working to prevent new ones. Here is another minty winner! While my husband is new to using toner, he is enjoying adding in this step. Plus, the combo of actives in this one really keeps pores clear.

Some of my other new and old favorites from Clean & Clear:

I just couldn't resist talking about a few of my other favorites from Clean & Clear! Their Persa-gel 10 has been a staple anti-acne product in my skincare arsenal for years. I literally use Benzol Peroxide daily in the mornings around my t-zone area. It is fantastic prevention in that breakout prone area. Clean & Clear has a varieity of salisylic acid based cleansers. This Acne Clear one is great for using in the mornings to get some salisylic acid treatment into your skincare routine. I try to do a spa night at least once a week with a facial mask. I tend to gear my treatment based on what my skin needs at the moment. The Night Relaxing Jelly Mask is so soothing and hydrating! If I am opting for more pore-clearing action, then I can reach for the Cleansing Clay Mask. Both are fantastic!
