Vera Bradley's First Fragrance Collection:

What exciting news: 2016 marks the launch of Vera Bradley's very first fragrance collection! As a long-time fan of Vera Bradley's gorgeous prints, I was super excited to try out the fragrances. I have always enjoyed carrying Vera Bradley handbags, travel bags, and diaper bags. Now I can coordinate carrying my Vera Bradley bags with a fresh new scent! ;)

The Scoop:

• The fragrance collection includes four alluring eau de toilette scents featuring Macaroon Rose, Cotton Flower, Vanilla Sea Salt, and Appbleberry Champagne available in both 15 mL ($28), 50 mL ($48) and a mini sampler with 10 mL of all four included ($48).

• In addition to the Eau de Toilette Scents, the launch also includes assortment of coordinating candles, bath and shower gel, body lotion, hand cream, soap gift sets, candle gift sets, fragrance and lotion gift sets and purse spray sets. 

•  The complete collection in all four aromas is now available on VeraBradley.com

From this new Vera Bradley fragrance collection, I got to try out the Mini Eau de Toilette Spray Set which contains spray minis of each of the 4 new fragrances. This is a great set to start out and explore some new scents!

Appleberry Champagne: 

What a sparkling and fresh scent for Spring! I mostly smell apples and strawberries when I sniff this one. A great fragrance for daytime or anytime that I want to wear something super fresh! 

Cotton Flower:

This fragrance is very feminine and soft. If you are a fan of powdery scents, then you will like this. This one is pretty, but not 100% the type of scent that I usually wear. However, it will be perfect for my Mom as she enjoys wearing powdery scents. 

Macaroon Rose:

Wow! This one is pretty. It is certainly floral. However, there is a lightness and a freshness to this scent as well. The rose note is subtle. I really enjoy wearing this one! Probably my 2nd favorite of this group. 

Vanilla Sea Salt:

I saved my personal favorite for last! I am such a fan of vanilla scents. So, ya'll know that I love this one. It is a well balanced vanilla. It is not overly sweet. It is warm and wearable. Love it!!! 

If you can't decide which new Vera Bradley scent is right for you, there is a cute little short quiz on the website that can help you decide! I tried it, and the site suggested that I try the Vanilla Sea Salt fragrance! That was spot on as Vanilla (and most foodie scents) are my utmost favorites! So, the quiz certainly directed me towards my favorite of the group. 

I love wearing these scents! What a fun and fresh new fragrance collection. If you are looking for gift ideas, this Mini Eau de Toilette Set is an excellent gift! The box packaging is super pretty and totally gifty. I would love to explore the rest of this collection! The packaging of the full sized items is so cute and reminiscent of the iconic quilted bags that Vera Bradley is so famous for!

The "Mommy Bag" Handbag:

With two kids in diapers (a 7 month old and a 2 year old), I am always going back and forth between a diaper bag and a purse. So, what is the best middle ground for me? A large handbag that I turn into a diaper bag or a "Mommy Bag"! Really, all it takes to turn a purse into a diaper bag is sticking in a diaper organizer and a changing pad. In my pre-kid life, I was all about my designer handbags. I am sure I will eventually go back to that. However, for a bag that also functions as a diaper bag, I am all about inexpensive synthetic bags that I don't mind getting a bit dirty. I mean, there will be spills from sippys and stray fruit snacks in my bag. So, lets be real, right?! ;) With a synthetic/inexpensive bag, there are just no worries...just wipe up your spills and all is good! Not to mention, I feel so much more chic carrying a cute and trendy large bag than a diaper bag. :)

Summer-to-Fall Transition: Outfit of the Day!

As much as I love Fall and Fall clothing, sometimes the transition is a bit hard! The weather stays warm here in Georgia for quite a long time. Typically, I ease the transition by mixing some of my "warmer" pieces from my Summer wardrobe. Sure it gets cool in the mornings here, but by mid-day it is quite warm still.

Here is a Super-easy go-to Look of mine:

• Top: Simple scoop necked brown and pink striped tee from Forever 21
• Jacket: Sleeveless Jean Jacket from Baby Phat 
• Pants: Cargo capri's from Old Navy
• Shoes: The Juliana Bronze Wedge flip flops from Oka-b
• Handbag: Corporal from JustFab
• Sunglasses: Prada

The addition of the sleeveless jean jacket by Baby Phat adds an extra layer of warmth and pulls the look together a bit more. The bronze/gold buttons on the jacket coordinate with the bronze embellished Oka-b wedges to dress up the look just a bit.  The metallic JustFab Corporal bag completes this very easy casual look.

Girls like us want to look cute...but don't want to spend a fortune keeping up with current trends. The shoes range from cute flats to sexy sky-high pumps and trendy boots and wedges. The jewelery featured is glamorous, sparkly, and trendy. Definitely statement pieces. The bags are categorized into clutches, cross-body, hobos, and totes. No matter what size and style bag you like to carry, they likely have something for you!

Handbags: Organization and storage

Just wanted to share some organization/storage ideas for handbags. :) 

I live in a small house with limited closet space. I store most of my handbags in their dustbags in a big Rubbermaid bin in the hall closet. But, I like to rotate my purses; and, I don't always want to dig through a big container to find what I am looking for. So, I hang the handbags and work totes that are "in current rotation" on hooks in my bedroom so that I can "see" what I want to rotate. 

Pictured here is my current rotation:

• Black canvas monogrammed totebag (I *heart* monograms!)
• Michael Kors Python embossed Tote bag for work
• Michael Kors Hamilton black leather handbag (my current fav, and my valentine surprise from my husband this year)
• Black/White hounds tooth bag that I got from my recent clothing swap (don't know the brand)
