Fall Beauty with Honest Beauty:

The Get it Together Eyeshadow Palette and Fig Lip Crayon

As we transition to the cooler weather of the Fall, I transition my makeup colors as well! While I generally stick to neutral shades year-round, I do still switch things up seasonally. In the Spring and Summer, I tend to go for a very natural look and focus on glowing skin. In the Fall and Winter, I tend to go a bit heavier on the eyes with shadows and liner and go for a darker lip.

The Get It Together Palette:
This is a gorgeous and pigmented palette of 10 versatile shades of shadow and liners in a variety of velvety textures (matte, demi-matte, metallic, shimmer). The overall tone of this palette is warm. While I often gravitate towards more cool-tones, warm tones are extremely flattering to a variety of skin tones and I do find that warm tones like these really bring out my blue eyes. All of the shades in this palette are useable! My only wish is that there was a lighter shimmery shade like a shimmery vanilla.

This palette also includes a card with a step-by-step guide for 4 pretty eye looks. I love it when these types of instructions are included. I tend to do the same sort of eye shadow look everyday. So, these types of cards really give me the confidence to experiment a bit more and re-create the featured looks!

I really love using this palette. The shades are pretty and versatile with great wear. Plus, the packaging is nice. It is sleek and streamlined with a nice size mirror. I could see this as being a great travel palette.

Lip Crayon in Fig:
Honest Beauty's Lip Crayons are lightweight lipcolors with semi-matte finishes. Fig is one of the new shades and I think it is just perfect for Fall! These lip crayons contain moisturizing and nourishing ingredients like jojoba oil, murumuru, and and shea butters. I like that the finish is somewhat matte but also still natural.

Get the Look: Project Runway Jr's Winning Look Episode 6, Firefighting Clients

I just love sharing "Get the Look" posts...especially when the looks come from one of my favorite TV Shows: Project Runway Jr! 

A couple weeks ago, on Project Runway Junior, the models walked their looks straight off the catwalk and into the arms of their fire-fighting husbands! The emerging designers were tasked with creating date night looks for real women. The winning look was hot, hot, hot and left the model feeling confident as she made her runway debut on national television.

Celebrity makeup artist Scott Patric created a gorgeous nude glow to complement the winning design, with butter LONDON’s Glazen Eye Gloss in Spark taking center stage. The final look highlighted the model’s natural features with a subtle contour and glossy nude lips, letting the fiery dress do all the talking. The makeup look is fresh, natural and easy to wear both day and night, dressed up or dressed down.

I got to try out a few makeup items from this look, and I am so impressed! This butterLONDON bronzer palette is gorgeous and so versatile! The lipstick is a perfect YLBB (your lips but better) shade and the gloss is the perfect topper! I love wearing the items from this look!

Season 2 of Project Runway Junior airs Thursdays at 9pm EST/PST on Lifetime. It is an awesome show! Be sure to check it out. I always get so inspired with the fashions, the styling, and the makeup...not to mention: the talent of the contestants!

After years of opting for either pale pink or natural/neutral lips, I find that I am gravitating towards vibrant pinks and even reds (OMG, I know...me loving red lips, who knew?). As I mentioned, I think it is a variety of factors at work: re-vamping my collection, discovering new makeup trends, and also a lighter hair shade (I am blonder and vibrant lips just perk up my look all around!).

Once the warm weather rolls around, I love busting out my assortment of peach and coral lip products. I adore wearing these shades! However, these shades, for me, are totally seasonal and I only wear them in the warm weather. So, I always get super excited to add my peach and coral lippies to my makeup product rotation!

My Current Favorite Peach & Coral Lippies: These are simply the ones that I am reaching for the most lately! :)

• Neutrogena Moisture Smooth Color Stick in Juicy Peach: This one was my fav last Spring/Summer and I have a feeling it will continue to be a favorite this Summer, too! I reach for it all the time!
• Mally Lip Magnifier in Nectarine: Thanks to Birchbox for introducing me to Mally! This Nectarine shade is my "most reached for" shade in my Lip Magnifier collection.
• Cailyn Tinted Lip Balm in Apple Pink: So, I guess this is techinically "pink"...however, on me it wears as a lovely peachy-pink. So, I think it counts! I got this in my recent IPSY bag and am really thrilled with it. Pretty color! 
• Laura Mercier Creme Smooth Lip Colour in Palm Beach: When I am going for a bolder coral look, I like to reach for this gorgeous shade from Laura Mercier!

I am sure that I am forgetting a ton of faves. However, these are the ones that I am currently reaching for the most. I think that peach/coral is so flattering to my super fair skin and blue eyes. So, I really enjoy wearing lippies in this color family! What Coral/Peach lippies do you love?

Makeup Wars: Winter Lip Rescue: Products and Treatments for Soft and Smooth Lips!

It is time for another Makeup War!!! This time the Makeup Wars bloggers are sharing their favorite products for Wintertime Lip Rescue! I don't know about ya'll, but my lips really suffer from the dry air of Winter. I need the absolute best-of-the-best products to keep my lips soft and smooth. Here are my Hands-down favorite products for soft and smooth lips!

Makeup Wars: Lip Rescues: Products & Treatments with Reviva Labs, LUSH, Elizabeth Arden

LUSH Santa's Lip Scrub: LUSH's lip scrubs are the only lip scrubs that I use! I have tried a variety of flavors and really have loved everything so far: the BubbleGum, Popcorn, and currently the Santa's Lip Scrubs. I must try the Mint Julips flavor next! The LUSH Lip Scrubs are sugar-based scrubs with softening oils. To use, you just scrub them on clean lips and then lick off. Easy-peasy! :)

Aquaphor Lip Repair + Protect Broad Spectrum SPF Lip Protectant: This is my current go-to daytime lip moisturizer/protectant. For daytime, I insist on a lip balm with SPF (even in the winter!). This moisturizing balm has all of the wonderful healing powers of Aquaphor (love that stuff!) in a convenient little tube. It instantly soothes and softens my lips. Love it!!!

Elizabeth Arden 8-Hour Cream: OMG! I know, I can't stop talking about this amazing multi-purpose ointment. It is quite simply a miracle in a tube. I apply it every single night without fail to my lips before going to bed. If I wake up at all in the night (which happens often when you are pregnant, lol), I apply it again. I first discovered this product after my first baby when I was really suffering from the dry lips that can accompany breast-feeding and post-baby hormonal changes. This was the only thing that helped back then and I still swear by it now. No, I am not crazy about the taste/smell. However, I can deal with that with how well this product works (and I hear that there is an un-scented version available, too). I am on my 3rd tube of this and will repurchase it forever! Plus, it is not just for lips! You can put it on any dry area that needs healing or protecting!

Reviva Labs Vit E Oil Stick: I love this Vit E Oil stick from Reviva Labs! I keep this stick in my purse/diaper bag for on-the-go use. It contains a blend of natural oils and vitamin E. Sometimes I like to layer this under the Aquaphor Repair + Protect or I use it on its own. The oil really seems to sink into the lips to penetrate and moisturize. Plus, it is not just for lips!

Trish McEvoy's Summer-to-Fall Makeup Tips! Plus: The Easy Smoky Eyes Collection and More!

Can you believe that it is already time to transition not only your wardrobe, but also your makeup and skincare from Summer to Fall? Time flies!!!

As the seasons change, your makeup and skincare needs change, too! I know that I personally start to gravitate more towards deeper and richer colors and put away my most of my brights as we head towards Fall and Winter. Also, my skin becomes a bit drier. So, my skincare routine gets a re-vamp, too! 

Trish McEvoy shares her tips for transitioning your makeup from Summer-to-Fall:

EVEN SKIN. Be it a fake or a slight tan, a deeper complexion disguises imperfections. As you transition to a lighter skin tone for Fall/Winter, evening out your complexion becomes even more important. Use a foundation or skin-perfector with treatment benefits to help skin recover from summer wear and tear, and with hydrating properties in preparation for the drier weather. [Beauty Balm]

FACE COLOR. Blush is to fall what bronzer is to summer. As you transition into fall you want to lighten your bronzer and brighten your complexion with cheek color formulas that make you look lit from within—as if you've just taken a brisk walk. Apply a pop of pink to the high apples of cheeks and blend it slightly out to achieve your perfect fall face color. (Face Shapers, Brighten Up Duo)

DEFINITION. Summer makeup is casual but as fall draws near style become more dressy and defined—from hair to makeup to clothes. Nothing instantly transforms a look like definition on the eyes, face and brows. Intensify your eye liner, sculpt your face with bronzer and highlight, and shape your brows. For lips this season the look is muted with definition achieved through highlighting around the mouth, a trick that makes lips look naturally fuller.
