Feb 2014 Birchbox Box Opening: the US Weekly Box!

I Bought It Press Samples Affiliate/Referral Link Blogger Ambassador

It is time for a Birchbox Box Opening!!! As many of my regular readers know, Birchbox is one of my favorite beauty sample subscription services. While I haven't shared a box opening in a few months, I am continuing to enjoy my subscription and look forward to opening my box every single month!!! :)

More about Birchbox: One of my Favorite Beauty Sample Subscriptions!
Have you not heard of Birchbox, or would you just like to find out more? Well then here is the scoop if you would like a subscription for yourself: For only $10.00 per month, you get deluxe high-end beauty and lifestyle product samples delivered right to your door. Each box contains about 4-5 samples plus a small lifestyle extra or two. The boxes are so cute and incredibly fun! It is like getting a little present in your mailbox each month. :) With a subscription, you get your fabulous Birchbox and full access to the Birchbox website (with tips, tutorials, articles, videos, product info, and shopping)! Review your Birchbox items and earn points on the Birchbox website! Plus, if you refer friends, you can earn points for that, too.

For this month's Birchbox, Birchbox teamed up with the editors from US Weekly to create a sample box filled with beauty items loved by the gorgeous and famous! This month's box is filled with star-approved products selected by Us Weekly's Beauty Director, Gwen Flamberg. I know that I am always interested in finding out about what items celebs use to get glam!

So, lets dig inside the box! Join me in my box opening, but clicking "read more" below! :)

Inside the Feb 2014 US Weekly Birchbox: Info from the Card plus my First Impressions:
  • Beauty Protector | Protect & Oil (sample size: small glass screw top vial, full size cost: $21.95): This is an exclusive launch for Birchbox! This oil defends against UV rays, heat, and breakage...yes, please! To use, just work 1-3 drops into damp hair or ends of dry hair. I immediate smoothed it onto my hair ends and love the feel as well as the scent!
  • Dr Brandt | Pores No More Pore Refiner: (.25 fl oz sample size, full size cost $45): This works to absorb oil for a matte finish. Apply under makeup and reapply over makeup as needed. This sounds like just what I need! I have combo skin that tends to get oily through the t-zone. I like the idea of a product that can keep me a bit more matte.
  • Juicy Couture | Couture La La Malibu (small glass vial, Full size $52-$72): Light and "breezy" scent with "sparkling mandarin" and "pink sugar". I really do like this super fresh scent. This would be an ideal scent for Spring! It reminds me a lot of Clinique's Happy which I used to wear. However, I really am not a fan of getting these small glass vial samples of perfumes as I do not consider this to be a "deluxe" sample...since you can get these free at the Mall or Sephora.
  • Ruby Wing | Color Changing Nail Polish in Kitten Heels (.25 oz sample size, full size cost $10): This polish changes color! How cool is that?!?! It transforms from hot fuchsia to deep magenta in the sun. I really can't wait to try this. Super fun! Although, I might give this polish to my teenage niece as it is almost a bit too neon for me...but, we will see. Maybe I will love it when it is on my fingernails.
  • Lifestyle Extra: 32 Oral Care | Effervescent Breath Crystals (2 little sample pouches, full size cost $9.99): This is interesting "popping" breath crystals to freshen your breath. Sounds like an adult version of pop-rocks candy. Sounds fun! I have certainly never even heard of these. This is exactly what is fun about a Birchbox subscription...finding something new and cool that you didn't even know about. ;)
