Ever wonder what a Beauty Blogger keeps in her handbag? Only the best beauty and on-the-go essentials, right (for me it is that and a whole lot more, lol)? Well, the Beauty Spotlight Team has been taking turns every/other week sharing what we have in our purses. This week it is my turn! 

About Me: What would I need in my purse? 

A woman's day-to-day life pretty much dictates what she carries around in her bag. For a girl like me, my bag is full of on-the-go essentials for a busy Mom of a 14-month old and a 3-year old. My days and weeks are packed with play dates, preschool events, grocery shopping, YMCA/gym time, swim lessons, park-time, carpool lines, ballet lessons, Mommy-and-Me story times, family time, lunches with Grandma and kids, MOMS Club events, MOPS events/meetings, whew...I feel busy even just writing all of this!

How did I decide upon my Mommy bag?

Some Moms carry a purse and a diaper bag. I have found, through trial and error, that my best bet is to go with one huge bag that carries everything. Sure, I sometimes default to your standard diaper bag. However, I find that an inexpensive and trendy large tote-style purse is so much more chic! I can fit all that I need for my baby boy, my active preschooler, and myself...while still looking stylish. Us Mommies carry around a LOT of stuff, lol! I find that another "key" with this method is to go with an inexpensive bag. There will be spills (sippy cups, snacks, etc) and you might even end up toting away a dirty diaper or clothes from time-to-time...so, why mess up a pricey designer bag? Go with an inexpensive one and you won't be sorry.

From this Spring Fever Collection, I tried out the following shades (from left to right in the swatch photo):

• Cream Pink (Bubble Gum Pink): This exact shade of pink tends to be my polish shade go-to. What can I say, I am a "pink" girl at heart and nothing does it better for me than a bright Barbie pink! I think that this will be my perfect pedicure shade for the Spring and Summer! I literally just feel happy even looking at this color! While it has a shine to it, it dries to almost a matte finish (demi matte?). Really pretty!

• Sail la Vie: (Cerulean Sea Blue Creme with glossy finish): This gorgeous cerulean shade is another favorite color of mine. Can I even tell you how many shirts I have in this exact same color? lol, maybe it is because it matches my eyes. Anyways...it is a shade that I just LOVE wearing on my tips! It is a fun way to wear blue without your nails screaming "I am blue" (ha ha, if that makes sense). I really like it topped with the "Petal be the Day" Specialty Glitter. What a fun combo. My nails make me smile when I wear this combo. :) Seriously, it is on my tips now and I am diggin it! 

• Petal Be the Day: (Royal Blue and Purple Confetti in a sheer lilac base): This is a super fun glitter. I do wish that the sheer lilac base showed up just a tad more and that the glitter was more full coverage. But still, even with that critique, I love wearing this as a topper. It is really too sheer to wear on its own with its sparse glitter. 2 coats give you a decent amount of glitter.

• Flower Power: (Baby Pink Speckled with White & Fuchsia): This is honestly the item in this collection that I anticipated the most! It really is a unique polish/topper! I love the round and chunky shape of the white and fuchsia glitter. The baby pink polish base is dense enough for good coverage and the glitter seems to go on a bit fuller (yet not full coverage by any means) than the Petal be the Day. This is so pretty on its own for a mani! So fun!!!

Do you know what is the most amazing part about this collection and all SinfulColors polishes in general? They retail for only $1.99 and are available at your local Walgreens! At that price, you can afford to get all of them that catch your eye! :) Plus, the quality, coverage, and wear (4+ days with only very slight tip wear for me...and I am hard on my nails with constant hand washing and diaper changes) are amazing!

I have been a fan of Eddie Funkhouser Cosmetics since their inception a couple years ago. However, it had been awhile since I had tried anything from the line. So, I was super excited when they sent me an assortment of lippies! I have gone through quite a transition lately. Historically, I have not really been a lippie-obcessed beauty-lover. I am more of a "blush girl". However, ever since my latest makeup de-cluttering, I have been very into lipsticks and lipglosses! I tossed so many old products and realized that I really needed to explore what colors looked good on my lips and what shades I wanted to purchase and add to my collection. Fab Fast Friday: Aveeno's Positively Nourishing Calming Body Wash & Body Lotion

It is time for another edition of Fab Fast Friday! Fab Fast Friday is my "quickie" review series where I basically just let you guys know what I am using and loving lately. :) It is my way to give you the skinny scoop on some really awesome products! 

This week I am going to share with you a couple of my favorite shower and post-shower items: Aveeno's Positively Nourising Calming Body Wash & Body Lotion. 

As an Aveeno Ambassador, I am having such a great time exploring this brand! I feel like Aveeno is a great fit for my skin type: I have very sensitive skin...and these products are just so gentle and soothing! I honestly have yet to meet an Aveeno product that has not worked for my skin.

Aveeno's Positively Nourishing Calming Body Wash and Body Lotion is formulated with Lavender and Chamomile. If you are not a fan of lavender, don't let that scare you off. These products do not have a typical lavender smell. These Positively Nourishing Calming formula products actually have quite a lovely and fresh soft fragrance (I think there is a hint of lavender...but, mostly it just smells "clean" to me).

I like using the Aveeno Positively Nourishing Calming Body Wash on a body pouf in the shower. It cleanses my skin gently without over-drying or leaving my skin feeling stripped. My skin is just left feeling clean and soft. It works into a nice lather and rinses clean. My husband tends to use my shower products and has mentioned that he is a fan of this Body Wash, too! After my shower, I towel dry and then apply Aveeno's Positively Nourishing Calming Body Lotion. I apply this pretty much from the neck down: my arms, legs, torso, feet, etc! The scent certainly is soothing! The Body Lotion is thick and rich without being sticky or greasy. I massage it into my skin and it quickly absorbs. 

Have you tried this formula of Aveeno's Positively Nourishing products? What did you think? Even though I tried the "calming" formula, I must note that these are not just products for evening showers! I actually use them in the morning after my morning shower. There is also an "Energizing" formulation that I would love to try next (grapefruit and pomegranate). Has anyone tried that? How do you like it?

I will fully admit, shaving is a chore. It is really my least-favorite part of my shower routine. Perhaps it is because I have to do it every single day. Yes, that is the case for me. I am so ready for Winter to be over! What about ya'll? I am so eager for the first signs of Spring. In the Atlanta area, one of the very first signs of Spring is the gorgeous bloom of the Cherry Blossoms. I am lucky enough to have a huge Cherry Blossom tree in my back yard. It is time for another Fab Fast Friday post! Fab Fast Friday is where I give you the super quick scoop on items that I am really loving lately. Ya'll know that I like to be wordy with my reviews. So, this is your chance to get the Skinny on some really awesome products that I want you to check out!

 

Finding a good concealer can be a challenge. Especially for my skin tone and coverage needs. My skin is super-duper fair (practically porcelain). Many times even the lightest shade in a brand is not light enough. Also, I have very dark under eye circles that require some pretty intense coverage and highly pigmented concealers.

Shiseido's NEW Perfecting Stick Concealer:

This gorgeous NEW concealer from Shiseido accomplishes both high coverage and a well-blended natural look at the same time!

The formula is really inventive! It contains a breakthrough "bind & fix wax" which is a networks structure that binds liquid oil and coverage powder together in a stick form. When you apply, the network deconstructs and distributes the product effortlessly onto the skin while providing phenomenal coverage with a natural look and budge-free wear! I am so impressed!!! I do find that I like wearing this concealer best around my nose area and on my chin as well as to cover any blemishes. While this concealer does fully cover my under eye dark circles, I do feel like I need a more creamy formula for under my eyes...but, for the rest of my face, this concealer is perfect!!!

From this Collection, my Husband and I tried out the Detangling Leave-In Conditioner and the Reworkable Hold Paste.

• Detangling Leave In Conditioner: ($24.00): This product is the perfect detangler combined with thermal protection in the form of a leave-in conditioner. I am a huge fan of using leave-in conditioners! I spray this generously in my hair after I wash, condition, and towel dry my long hair. This product has such an amazing fresh scent! It helps me comb out my hair with ease and leaves my hair shiny and managable. Plus, I love that it provides thermal protection as well. I always blow dry my hair with a round brush and I feel that this product leaves my hair nicely protected!

• Reworkable Hold Paste: ($24.00): This product combines the softness and flexibility of a styling cream with the definition of a paste. My husband has super thick and wavy hair. This Reworkable Hold Paste gives his waves definition and hold without being overly thick or sticky. My Husband likes it because it is all he needs to use for his hair. He just applies a bit after washing and conditioning and works it through his hair.

Both my Husband and myself are already fans of this new Birchbox-launched PARLOR Hair Collection! I can't wait to explore this line further!!! I would especially like to try the Sea Salt Spray and the Smoothing Blowout Spray! Has anyone tried these? I would love to hear what you think!
