Travel Light with Tweezerman and Conair:

Thinking about traveling soon for Spring or Summer vacations? One great way to cut down on bulk with packing is to take travel-sized beauty products and tools. The trick is to find travel-sized beauty tools that work just as well as their full-sized versions. This can be hard! 

Recently, I have discovered (and re-discovered) some of my favorite travel-sized beauty tools and accesories. So, I am excited to share these with you today!

Tweezerman:

I pretty much exclusively use Tweezerman tweezers. They are just the best, in my opinion. They have a tight grip and are sharp enough to really get the job done quickly and easily when it comes to tweezing. I practially tweeze something daily, be it my brows or random stray hairs. 

For travel, I am absolutely loving Tweezerman's Tweezermate 10x Lighted Mirror (retails for $36)

This travel-sized makeup mirror is equipped with three different light settings. It is a nice size, yet it is still small enough to fit in your purse or suitcase for traveling. It would also work great for those of you who do or finish your makeup at work! It stands up and adjusts easily. You can just place it on a desk or table and get ready easily! I know that I have struggled with my travel makeup mirrors in the past as I could never get the right lighting in a place that I could set the mirror. Since this one has a light, you always have great lighting with evening, daylight & indoor settings. Not only is this one great for travel, but the size really is big enough for you to use for everyday, too!

I am also loving Tweezerman's Micro Mini Tweezer Set (retails for $24). The smallest tweezers the brand has ever made, this pocked size kit includes a Slant, Point & Flat Tweezer (2” each) packed in a metallic case. They seriously are not kidding when they call these "micro" mini! These are literally the smallest tweezers that I have ever seen. I mean, Tinkerbell could use these, lol. The cool part? They perform just as good as full sized tweezers! This little set literally takes up no space and has 3 awesome tweezers to take care of all of your tweezing needs on-the-go. This cute set is now living in my purse. If traveling on a plane, be sure to stash this in your checked luggage though as it probably would not be allowed on a plane as they are super sharp. 

In terms of travel packing, my hair tools take up the bulk of my beauty items. Try as I do, I haven't been able to find a travel hair dryer that I really like. So, I usually just suffice with what is at my destination as far as hotel hair dryers (or if staying with family, I will borrow one). With that said, I really love the Conair MiniPro Smoothing Brush. This is essentially a heated brush that works to smooth down your hair. This is great for travel! I can let my hair pretty much air-dry and then either finish it up with a hair dryer or let it air-dry all the way. Then I just quickly brush/smooth this MiniPro Smoothing Brush throughout the top layers of my hair and I am good-to-go. Quick and easy and it takes up very little space: and takes WAY less space than packing my round brushes and my flat iron. I can just take this! Retails for about $19.99.

For me, I like to use this device 15 plues in the 3 sections on my lower lips and 20 pulses on the 3 sections on the top lip. My lower lip is naturally bigger than my top lip (which is quite thin). So, this method works great for me!

I like that you can use the PMD Kiss with any serum or gloss! PMD recommends using their Smart Lip Plumping Serum for best results (and that is all that I have used with the device so far). However, it is nice to know that I can use whatever gloss or serum that I have on hand after I run out of the PMD serum.

I think that this device is great when you have a night out or a special event or special photographs to take. It can be that extra boost in your beauty routine to make you feel more confident (without needles and injections)! I like that the plumping effect is noticeable without it being a painful process.  So, you get the results with minimal discomfort. The suction is just strong enough to work without the device being uncomfortable to use. It doesn't cause any harm to my lips like bruising or pain. I really like the serum, too! The serum leaves your lips feeling super smooth and soft.  Plus, your lips are left so rosey after treatment with the device which is so flattering! Don't forget that continued daily use boosts collagen which increases the look of fullness, fades the appearance of lip lines & wrinkles and revitalizes natural lip color.

How I Use:

I have somewhat sensitive skin. So, sonic-type skincare brushes work best for me when I use them about every other day. If I use them too frequently, I get irritation brushes. If you do not have sensitive skin, you can use this device up to twice a day. Because of my sensitive skin type, I use my Soniclear Petite Antimicrobial Sonic Skin Cleansing Brush-Tutti Frutti by Michael Todd every other day in the evenings. First, I wet my face and wet the brush. Then I apply one of my favorite cleansers on my face. Next, I turn the brush on and then gently move the brush across my face. My Results:

I love the super clean feel that I get with this brush! My skin is so soft and smooth when I use this brush consistently. Fab Fast Friday: What I am Loving Lately...the Artis Elite Oval 10 Brush

Are you ready for a Fab Fast Friday? I haven't done a post in this series in awhile. It is when I try something new and love it and want to post a quick rave...period!

As a beauty blogger, I certainly have a copious supply of makeup brushes. While I do love reviewing beauty tools, more often than not, there is nothing very revolutionary or "new" with makeup brushes. Well, that is certainly not the case with this unique brush from Artis! Quite the contrary...once I opened this bad boy up from the mail, I put him right to use! 

The Artis Elite Oval Brush:

There is no question that this brush looks unique.  So unique that my husband actually asked me what it was when it was first sitting out on my vanity. I mean, that is the first (and probably the last) time that he has ever asked me about a makeup brush, lol! This brush looks like a spoon, a hairbrush, and a makeup brush had a baby. ;) 

The silver handle design is so elegant. It really does look like a hair brush with makeup brush hairs instead of hair brush bristles. The brush head itself is pretty much the most densely packed brush I have ever seen or used (over 250,000 fibers actually! wow!). It is made of artificial fibers and the softness is just unbelievable! It is so soothing to use this on your face. 

This brush can be used for applying foundation or powder foundation, applying highlighter to face and body, or applying setting powder. Personally, I like it best for applying foundations. It gives you the most amazing and almost airbrushed-looking finish. So perfect and so great at blending! 

Yes, this is a pricey brush...but, I am telling you, you don't have anything like this in your collection! So, go check out this Artis Elite Oval 10 Brush...it is amazing!

Get Beach-Ready with Beauty 360 and pop-arazzi: Mani/Pedi #giveaway

It is finally Summer Vacation time!!! School is out and the weather is hot. While we are not taking a beach vacation this year, I am still getting beach-inspired with some super fun mani/pedi supplies from Beauty 360 and pop-arazzi! 

The hot weather has me wearing flip flops or sandals every day and fun summer colors and fashions. I always switch up my polish colors to Summer-friendly hues this time of year. Plus, with all this sandal and flip-flop wear, I need to do pedicures weekly or bi-weekly to keep my feet looking pretty and feeling soft. 

Have you heard of Beauty 360 tools and pop-arazzi polishes? These brands are exclusively sold at CVS/pharmacy. From the super cute polish bottles to the great selection of mani/pedi tools and accessories, you are going to have everything you need for a great Summer mani/pedi!

I recently tried out an assortment of pop-arazzi polishes and some Beauty 360 tools. 

pop-arazzi:

From pop-arazzi, I tried Living Coral (a perfect Summer shade! A pretty pop of coral with a very subtle shimmer), The Hue is Blue (a soft creamy baby blue with the slightest hint of shimmer), and Toes in the Sand (a warm beige). I love how Living Coral and The Hue is Blue look like a matte creme at first, but then when you look closely, you see a lovely and very very subtle shimmer. The pop-arazzi polishes are in such pretty shades and OMG...the bottles, so cute! The formula did apply a bit streaky and thick for these. However, I did find the formula to be fairly workable and had a pretty good finish after 2 coats. Wear time was a bit diminished with some peeling before 2 days with the The Hue is Blue shade. However, the Living Coral shade wore for 3+ days with no peeling, which is very good! Despite the minor peeling issues with some of the shades, I still loved the color and look of the polish. Plus, these polishes are a great deal at CVS!

Beauty 360:

What a great assortment of everyday tools for your nails, feet, and hands! I tried the following:

• Beauty 360 Padded Salon Boards: This is your basic padded board for filing your nails. I use this to smooth out the surface and to file my toe nails. I like using a crystal file for my fingernails. Retails for $2.99.

Easy and Quick Volume for your Hair with VOLOOM!

I am so excited to tell you guys about an *ah-ma-zing* new hair tool for creating super-easy volume: the VOLOOM! 

I will admit, before trying the VOLOOM, I was skeptical. I have tried countless options over the years to try to give volume to my long straight and pretty much flat hair. From bump-style molds to pin in my hair, to teasing combs, to spray in products...nothing really gave me that volume that I craved (and none of these solutions were as easy as the VOLOOM). 

Enter the VOLOOM...Quite simply, the VOLOOM is a clamp-style iron that creates a waffle type pattern in your hair. This waffle pattern gives your hair amazing and lasting "lift". It is an absolute no-brainer to use. It is quick and easy and the volume lasts for days. For real! 

How to Use:

The VOLOOM is so easy to use! You want to start using the VOLOOM right below your part. Section off a small amount of hair (about an inch thick) about an inch *below* your part line. You want to go below your part because you need a smooth section of hair to hide the waffle pattern the VOLOOM makes. Then, just clamp the iron into your hair for a few seconds about a centimeter away from your scalp and release. Be sure not to get too close to your scalp as the iron is HOT. Repeat this process a few times going further down on your head. I tend to do about 4-5 clampings on each side of my head. If you want or need more volume, do more. You can also clamp around the crown area of your head or really wherever your style needs that volume. Just be sure there is smooth hair on top to cover that waffle pattern. That is it! It is really that easy. It honestly does not add that much time to your getting ready routine. It only takes a couple minutes to do this whole process.

I am amazed at the gorgeous volume the VOLOOM gives my hair. My Before/After pictures really don't even do it justice! The volume is noticeable and fabulous. I have never gotten such great results with a volume product. Even my husband noticed the extra volume in my hair the morning after I used this device for the first time. He said "Your hair looks great! It is like...puffy (lol, Men!)". I can't get over not only that this device gives great immediate results, but also that the results last for days. So awesome!

• I believe that this device is either similar or less damaging to your hair than teasing. Yes, it is a very hot heat device. However, you only apply the heat for a few seconds and only need to use the device every few days/
