• Studies have shown that diarrheal illnesses can be reduced by 50% just by frequent hand washing.
• Respiratory illnesses can be reduced by close to 20% with hand washing.
• It takes at least 15-20 seconds of vigorous hand washing with soap and water to remove enough of the harmful bacteria that spreads disease. 

Somebody once told me that you should wash your hands long enough to sing "Happy Birthday". Great tip, especially if you know that you have been exposed to an illness or someone is ill in your house.

Honey Almond FIRMING Body Lotion:
Applying lotion to my entire body after my morning shower is a daily ritual. I certainly go through a lot of moisturizer at my house! My favorite thing to do is to apply a firming body lotion to my legs and give my legs a vigorous massage. I really do think that it helps to firm and tighten the skin and gives your circulation a nice boost! I really love the slightly sweet almond scent of the Honey Almond Firming Body Lotion from c.Booth. The lotion itself is lightweight and quick-absorbing. It leaves a light natural sheen and it makes my legs feel super soft and smooth.

Rosemary & Mint Bath, Shower, and Hair Wash:
Mint scents are so exhilarating when you are taking an early morning shower! This Bath, Shower, and Hair wash is such a pleasure to use. My husband uses it for everything: hair and body while I prefer to just use it as a body wash. I adore the scent and totally recommend it if you like minty washes.

I am kinda obsessed with Vanilla-based scents. These two scents (Peppermint Vanilla and Coconut Vanilla) combine vanilla with the sweet yumminess of fig and the refreshing coolness of peppermint. I am absolutely thrilled that I can now find a Fig scent within a drugstore/affordable body lotion! I often wear a Fig fragrance and I really like to coordinate scents. So, now whenever I wear my Fig perfume, I use this body lotion, too! I think that the Peppermint Vanilla pairs very well with the Rosemary & Mint Body Wash for an all-around mintyness that I love! These body lotions leave my skin nicely hydrated and scented!

Fighting Late Summer Heat with Drugstore Products: Aussie, Secret, and Herbal Essences!

The heat is in full swing here in GA. It has been upwards of 95 degrees this past week! There is no question that extreme heat can create a challenge for staying fresh and clean! I need to combat the heat with products to keep me smelling fresh and keep my hair frizz-free. The good news is that there are a ton of drugstore products to achieve this goal! As much as I love my high end products, nothing beats a great drugstore find! For this post, I am going to talk with ya'll about some of my recent drugstore favorites for hair, body, and last...but not least...your underarms!

For Hair: Aussie:
It is so fun for me to re-visit Aussie products! This is a line that I have literally loved since middle school. Not only do the products smell absolutely amazing, but also they are incredibly good for your hair (while also being so affordable!).

Aussie Hair Insurance Leave-In Conditioner: 
This lightweight spray conditions your hair while detangling, hydrating, and smoothing. I like that I can liberally spray this in without it feeling greasy. I just squirt in after towel drying my hair and before adding hair serums and other styling products. I absolutely adore the scent! This is certainly not the most moisturizing nor most repairing leave-in that I have ever used. However, it works great as a detangler and does offer some lightweight conditioning benefits.

Aussie Moist 3-Minute Miracle Deeeeep Treatment:
I have been using versions of this deep conditioner since high school! This deep conditioner is so inexpensive; yet, it works so well (and smells amazing!). The Three Minute Miracle Collection now has five customized formulas specific to what your hair needs. I am currently using the Moist formula for hydration and softness. I love the results! My hair is beautifully detangled, shiny, managable, and soft after each use. I am almost guaranteed a "good hair day" when I use this. I must try all of these formulas! For Body: Herbal Essences:

Have you seen the body washes from Herbal Essences? I have long been obsessed with the scents of Herbal Essences products. I think I first fell in love with the scents of their hair products all the way back in High School! Well, now you can get those fabulous scents in body washes! The best thing about Herbal Essences scents and Body Washes is that the scent really lingers! My body wash assortment from Herbal Essences includes Hello Hydration (a fresh and tropical coconut), Body Burst (a refreshing citrus), and Honey I Smell Good (honey and apricot). Honestly, I don't know which I like best because they are all amazing. I am so obsessed with these scents! I guess if I had to pick a favorite, I would choose The Hello Hydration scent because I use the Hello Hydration shampoo on my daughter. So the scent reminds me of her! :) By-the-way, the Hello Hydration Shampoo and Conditioner work great for keeping her hair super shiny, manageable, and smelling great all day!

For Underarms: Secret:
In the late-summer Georgia heat, I need to use the strongest underarm protection that I can find! I have used and trusted Secret deodorant/anti-antiperspirants for years! Secret was literally the first deodorant that I ever tried and I rarely stray. What can I say? I just don't want to smell and their deodorant/anti-antiperspirants really work for me. Aveeno's Positively Nourishing Calming Body Wash and Body Lotion is formulated with Lavender and Chamomile. If you are not a fan of lavender, don't let that scare you off. These products do not have a typical lavender smell. These Positively Nourishing Calming formula products actually have quite a lovely and fresh soft fragrance (I think there is a hint of lavender...but, mostly it just smells "clean" to me).

I like using the Aveeno Positively Nourishing Calming Body Wash on a body pouf in the shower. It cleanses my skin gently without over-drying or leaving my skin feeling stripped. My skin is just left feeling clean and soft. It works into a nice lather and rinses clean. My husband tends to use my shower products and has mentioned that he is a fan of this Body Wash, too! After my shower, I towel dry and then apply Aveeno's Positively Nourishing Calming Body Lotion. I apply this pretty much from the neck down: my arms, legs, torso, feet, etc! The scent certainly is soothing! The Body Lotion is thick and rich without being sticky or greasy. I massage it into my skin and it quickly absorbs. 

Have you tried this formula of Aveeno's Positively Nourishing products? What did you think? Even though I tried the "calming" formula, I must note that these are not just products for evening showers! I actually use them in the morning after my morning shower. There is also an "Energizing" formulation that I would love to try next (grapefruit and pomegranate). Has anyone tried that? How do you like it?

While it is finally Spring, my skin is still super dry from this harsh Winter weather we have had these past few months. However, with the warmer weather, I am starting to bare my arms and legs and need them to be moisturized and in good condition. Dove has been a brand that I have known and trusted for years. Their soaps are super gentle and the body washes smell fantastic! Plus, I have an infant at home with very sensitive skin (he was just diagnosed with a mild case of Eczema). So, it is super important that I use gentle products on myself so that he doesn't get irritated when I hold him.
