Get Inspired for Spring: Glowing Makeup and Skincare from Pixi

Affiliate Link Press Sample

Get Inspired for Spring with Glowing Makeup and Skincare from Pixi Beauty:
Who else is tired Winter? lol! I know that I sure am. Well, Pixi beauty has such a beautiful lineup of products to get you inspired for glowing skin and makeup for the upcoming warmer months ahead. Let's dive right in to talking about some of my recent favorites from Pixi! :)

You guys might remember that I have a bit of a thing for blush. Well, I just about swooned when I first saw these *huge* Pixiglow Cakes! These light diffusing cheek powders can give you gorgeous contouring, color, and highlight depending on where you place your brush on your pan and on your face. You can use via solo swipes or swirl all together to customize your own beautiful look. The powder is soft and blendable which makes it super easy to apply. It reflects light subtly. So, you don't have to worry about being too shiny or sparkly with these. Plus, they are packed with good-for-your-skin ingredients like plumping peptides and grape seed extract. There are two shades. One is more of a peach and one is more of a pink. :)

These are long-wearing liquid glittery eyeshadows. They are gorgeous!!! These are super easy to apply. You literally just swipe these on your lids and you are all set. I got to try out a couple shades: Crystalline (a shimmery white) and BareBrilliance (a light taupey brown). I adore these and really want to try out more shades. There are 7 shades total. Plus, they are infused with chamomile and rose extracts to soothe and hydrate your skin.

Oooooh! I just love Ceramide in my skincare products. As I *cough* age, I am becoming more and more concious and selective of my skincare and the ingredients in said skincare. I have learned that Ceramides are one of the best ingredients that you can have to hydrate and renew the skin. Moisturizers with Ceramides in them just seem to work better! This ultra-rich cream from Pixi Skintreats is infused with both Ceramides and Rose Oil to give your skin a great look and feel. Plus, it is antioxidant rich to help protect your skin as well. This feels so nourishing on my Winter-dry skin. It absorbs quickly and leaves my skin feeling hydrated and balanced.

What are your favorites from Pixi? There are so many amazing products. I am always looking for great recommendations.

As always, thanks so much for reading!
XOXO!!!

Makeup Wars:
Last Minute Beauty Gift Ideas: Stocking Stuffers

I am so glad that I am able to squeeze in one more Makeup Wars post before Christmas! Are any of you scrambling around to get last minute gifts? I don't know about ya'll, but I am! ;) I find that one of the easiest ways to put together a cute last-minute gift is to stuff a stocking with a "theme". You can literally hit your local Ulta, Target, Walmart, Walgreens, or CVS and get a cute stocking and have fun filling it up. So easy, right?!

So, I am going to share some of my favorite picks for beauty stocking stuffers. Most of these items are easily available at your local drugstore, grocery store, Ulta, or big box store.

My Last Minute Beauty Stocking: Beauty Stocking Stuffer Ideas!

Sally Hansen Holiday Collection:
Sally Hansen has some adorable sets as well as some specially packaged items for the Holidays! There are two box sets of polishes available and two scents of specially packaged nail and cuticle oils.

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Mini Sets
Jazz up those tips and get jolly with the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure™ holiday collection of mini sets; quaint quartets of festive polishes in festive hues. The Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure™ offers 7 benefits in 1 bottle, allowing you to skip the salon, for a party ready manicure. The chip-resistant polish with Keratin features all of the elements you know and need: base coat, strengthener, growth treatment, salon color in chic shades, top coat, and gel shine finish. The Complete Salon Manicure mini sets are ideal for stocking stuffers and holiday gift exchanges- or just a treat for a bit of self-indulgence.

I got to try out the purple set of 4 polishes in purple/cool toned shades. This set includes Rags to Riches, Devil Wears Nada, a Perfect Tin, and Gleame Supreme. I love coordinating my toes to my tips. So, this set gives me lots of options in super flattering shades!

These retail for $9.99 each.

Sally Hansen Vitamin E Nail & Cuticle Oil in Peppermint and Vanilla Buttercream
For a limited time only, Sally Hansen’s Vitamin E Nail & Cuticle Oils come in two delicious holiday scents. The oils are available in either tasty vanilla buttercream or refreshing peppermint. Indulge your senses with the creamy and merry aromas that celebrate the holiday spirit. Your cuticles and nails crave moisture and protection during the cold holiday season, so grab these Sally Hansen Vitamin E Nail & Cuticle Oils for the perfect stocking stuffer gift. Enriched with a natural essential oil complex with Vitamin E, its formula leaves skin and nails feeling hydrated, soft, and healthy while helping to protect nails.

I also got to try the Peppermint scented Vitamin E Nail & Cuticle Oil. OMG! I am obsessed with the Peppermint scent. So Christmas-y!!

These retail for $6.99 each.

Dermalogica PhytoReplenish Oil Giftable Ornament
Sometimes it can be hard to gift skincare...but, not when it is packaged like this cute little gift ornament from Dermalogica! This little skincare treat is the perfect skin pick-me-up during this time of year when the air is so dry.

Dermalogica's PhytoReplenish Oil contains powerhouse oils that replenish your protective lipids, restore your skin's barrier function, smooth lines while locking in moisture, and leaving you with antioxidant protection. That is a lot of protection from just a few drops of oil! Retails for $18.00.

Pixi Beauty:
Pixi Beauty has a ton of cute specially packaged skincare and makeup sets for the Holidays. I have a couple of the makeup sets that are perfect for stocking stuffers!

Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen Trio:
This is a set of 3 mini Endless Silky Eye Pens in shades ranging from dark brown to a light shimmery bronze. If you have never tried an Endless Silky Eye pen, then you are missing out! They glide on silky smooth while laying down impressive color. Plus, they are budge-proof! They are waterproof and they wear incredibly well. This set retails for $14.00.

Pixi Lid Lovelies Festive Eyes Palette:
This slim and sleek palette features 18 shades ranging from light to dark in an assortment of neutral tones. You can literally create unlimited looks with this easy-to-wear palette. The mineral formula is nicely pigmented and it blends well. Retails for $22.00.

Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque:
Ahhh...the holidays. Plenty of late nights, festivities, and indulging in food and drink. So, amp up your post holiday skincare routine with some facial masks! This Mint Julep Masque from Queen Helene is one that I always come back to. It is super inexpensive; yet, also it is super effective for clearing up your skin! I first discovered it when I was pregnant and used it as a spot treatment then. Now I love using it as a mask to deep clean my pores and prevent breakouts and skin congestion. The iconic Mint Julep Masque (now in new packaging) has been a staple in most drug stores for the last 20 years. Retails for $7.99.

L'Oreal Pure Clay Mask Detox & Brighten:
Here is another great drugstore facial mask! I love all of the L'Oreal Pure Clay masks. This Detox & Brighten formula does just that: it clears the pores and detoxes your skin with its charcoal and clay formula. It really draws all the gunk out of your pores. I feel consistent use of this mask can really improve your skin over time and decrease breakouts and congestion. Plus, my skin feels so smooth after using this! Love it! Retails for $12.99.

Covergirl Melting Pout Gel Liquid Lipsticks:
These award winning gel-formula liquid lipsticks are must-haves for any beauty lover. You get high-impact rich color with a smooth gel formula that has impressive wear. The shade range is from classic to bold and wild! Retails for $7.99 each.

SinfulColors Polishes and TopCoats:
Nail polish is a perfect stocking stuffer! I tried out an assortment of base colors and top coats from SinfulColors recent Punk Yourself Collection, which launched in October (available in ULTA). The five limited-edition Hypnotic Transforming Top Coats are so cool! You pair them with the core base colors to create unique and transforming layered looks. It is super fun to experiment with these. Plus, at $1.99 each, you can add a ton of these to a stocking! I find it super fun to experiment with nail color when I have time on my hands over Christmas vacation.

Here is a video that demonstrates how in one single brush stroke this innovative formula quickly transforms to create an instant melted, liquefied or dyed effect. The results are customized one-of-a-kind, individualized looks - each totally unique with each use!

Lip treats from Sara Happ:
Treat your pucker with some luxury lip products from Sara Happ. She has gift sets available for the Holidays or you can just toss in an assortment of her bestsellers like the Pump & Primp Lip Airbrush Lip Plumper, the Lip Slip One Luxe Balm, and the Exfoliate Lip Scrub. Such decacent treats for your lips and the packaging is beautiful...like a present! Sara Happ doesn't just have lip products...it is a true lip regimen. From plumping, masking, exfoliating, and protecting...the Sara Happ products will transform your lips. I haven't tried the Lip Mask yet nor the color products, but now that I am in love with these items, I am dying to try more from Sara Happ!

Marc Anthony Hydrating Coconut Oil Deep Nourishing Conditioning Treatment:
Last, but not least, stuff the stocking with a hair mask! Cold weather really dries out my hair. Christmas vacation is the perfect time to take a little extra time in the shower with a hair mask treatment. The Marc Anthony True Professional Hydrating Coconut Oil & Shea Butter Deep Conditioning Treatment ($2.99 at Ulta) is a lightweight oil treatment that penetrates the cuticle to help nourish and hydrate your hair leaving it smoother and shinier, while protecting from splitting and breaking, allowing hair to grow longer, faster.

NEW Glycolic-Infused Skincare from Pixi Beauty: Get Glowing!

Affiliate Link Press Sample

Get Glowing with Pixi's Glycolic-Infused "Glow" line expansions:
I have long been a fan of Pixi's cult-classic Glow Tonic. Well, exciting news: Pixi has expanded their Glow line to include a variety of exciting new products! Introducing Pixi's new Glycolic-infused Glow Mud Cleanser, Glow Mud Mask, Glow Peel Pads, and Overnight Glow Serum!

Glow Mud Cleanser:
This pore-purifying cleanser is a gentle exfoliant and cleanser in one. It is an excellent start to your skincare routine and it can give a "boost" to the other products in the Glow line by Pixi. It is actually quite gentle on my skin. It contains 5% Glycolic acid (to exfoliate), Mud (deep cleans and detoxifies pores), hyaluronic acid, aloe vera, and avacado (to plump and nourish your skin). Retails for $24.

Glow Peel Pads:
I am kinda obsessed with peel pads. They are one of my biggest skincare "secrets" for clear skin! I like to use a peel pad about 2 times a week to resurface my skin and keep breakouts away. Whenever I explore a line, I always want to check out their peel pads right away! So, when I found out Pixi now had peel pads, I just had to try them!!! These peel pads contain Pixi's highest concentration of Glycolic acid. They are a powerhouse treatment that helps refine your pores and skin texture. Now, I do have sensitive skin. However, I can still use these with no problems. I just can only use them about 2 times a week. You do feel a slight tingle after you apply them. However, it is not that uncomfortable. To use, you simply swipe them on your face (after cleansing and patting dry) and leave on. After about 2 minutes, rinse off. I follow this with a heavy-duty moisturizer (and no treatment products). These Glow Peel pads give me the most deep-down clean feeling. I just LOVE these!!!

Glow Mud Mask:
I adore skincare masks. I honestly look forward to my home "spa" nights. I try to do a mask at least 1-2 times a week to keep my skin clear and refreshed. This 15-minute facial absorbs oil, draws out impurities, and fights breakouts. The mask contains kaolin and sea salt (to purify skin) and ginseng and aloe vera (to balance skin). I apply after cleansing and leave on 15 minutes. Then I rinse off with tepid water. My skin is left so soft and baby smooth after I use this! I feel that consistent use has helped keep breakouts at bay.

Overnight Glow Serum:
This Overnight Glow Serum works while you sleep! I just love the idea of applying something before bed that will do the work for you overnight. This soothing serum works to smooth fine lines and texure to leave you with smooth glowing skin. This serum contains 10% Glycolic acid, Vitamin A, Cucumber, and Aloe Vera.

I am really loving the Glow line from Pixi! There are so many options for adding Glycolic Acid into your skincare routine. The trick for me is that I can't use all of these products at the same time (that would be too much for my sensitive skin). However, I can pick and choose the items that I am in the mood for or that will work for my skin on that particular day. So, a combination of the cleanser and the Peel Pads, etc. I am loving the results and feel that these products to keep my skin more clear and glowing!

Have you seen or tried these products yet? I would love to hear your thoughts!

Summer Essentials: Favorite Waterproof Makeup

Press Sample/I Bought It  Affiliate Link Blogger Ambassador

With the temps in the mid-upper 90s, it is time to embrace my no-fail Waterproof Makeup! Waterproof makeup is essential this time of year. Many days I do end up either at the pool or doing water activities with the kids in the back yard. I often do not know how my day will play out. So, I always opt for as much waterproof makeup as possible. Plus, in this heat, Waterproof makeup is much more resistant to sweat and general makeup "melt-down"!

Overall, my makeup look is very simplified (and even more so in the Summertime when I honestly just couldn't be bothered with a fussy look). So, I keep it streamlined: concealer (for under eye area and concealer or a good coverage foundation to dab over slight redness on chin and around nose area), a dab of powder, mascara, maybe eyeshadow (just a wash of color on the lids if I do), lipbalm or sheer lip gloss, and a bit of blush or bronzer applied as blush for color. If I am getting "fancy", I will do eyeliner, too.

I have a nice little assortment of waterproof and longwearing makeup options in my makeup collection right now. So, I am going to share some of my favorite picks with you today!

Summertime Essentials: Some Great Waterproof Makeup Options:
  • It Cosmetics | Bye Bye Under Eye Waterproof: How amazing is it that my favorite concealer by It Cosmetics is also available in an waterproof formula?!?! This pleases me to no end! The coverage is amazing and the pigmentation is fabulous. The shade "Light" works very well with my fair skin tone. I just love that I can cover my super dark under eye circles in a waterproof way! Even if I wear no other make, I don't leave the house without concealing those bad dark circles!
  • tarte | Amazonian clay waterproof bronzer (in both matte and shimmer finishes): Waterproof bronzers? Yes, please! I wear high SPF on my face. However, I do still crave that sunkissed glow and can get that with these tarte bronzers! I am especially in love with the matte one! Beautiful!
  • Shiseido | UV Protective Stick Foundation SPF 37: This is a long-lasting water resistant foundation with a creamy feel and medium coverage. This is great for covering slight redness around my nose and on my chin. This foundation is very convenient for travel or on-the-go touch ups because of the slim and portable size. This doesn't budge until I take it off! It comes in four shades. I am the shade Fair Ivory.
  • Pixi | Endless Silky Eye Intensity Duo and Lash Line Ink: Pixi sure does know have a nice selection of waterproof liners! Right now, I am especially loving the Silky Eye Intensity Duo in the Blue Eye Intensity Shade. It is a no-smudge dual ended eyeliner with a deep matte blue grey liner on one side and a brightening opal beige on the other side. I line my upper lash line with the blue grey and brighten up my inner corner and lower waterline with the beige. It is super easy to apply and very flattering for my blue eyes! If I want more of a "liquid liner" look, I reach for Pixi's Lash Line Ink which I have loved for years! It quickly lays down dark color and it doesn't budge. The tip makes it very easy to use and is a great product to get that winged liner look.
  • COVERGIRL | Clump Crusher by LashBlast Mascara: I know, I just can't stop talking about Clump Crusher! It is my all-time favorite mascara. If you haven't already, you really must explore COVERGIRL's mascaras. I am quite a fan of pretty much all of the LashBlast mascaras. Clump Crusher is water resistant, doesn't smudge, and defines my lashes beautifully with no clumps. Plus, the green tube is pretty darn cute!
  • essence | Gel Eye Pencil: I have long been a fan of essence's eye liners. They are so cheap and honestly so good! These glide on and lay down nice dark color. For only $2.99 each, you can afford to indulge in a variety of fun colors for Summer!

Fresh Face for Summer: IT Cosmetics, Shiseido, Urban Decay, Lancome, and Pixi!

Affiliate Link Press Sample/I Bought It

I certainly like to go for a lighter and more natural makeup look for the Summer. Often, I skip foundations completely and just opt for some concealer, lipbalm, and mascara. However, there certainly are days that I want more coverage or a more perfected look. With that said, even when I do opt for foundation-type products, I still go lighter on the makeup overall. That makes me *really* want my skin to look good! So, when I do wear more makeup in the Summer, I want perfected skin with just a touch of color cosmetics.

There are a few new products and old faves that I have been continually reaching for since the weather turned warm. I plan on continuing to use these throughout the Summer when I want my skin to look its made-up best! ;)

Treats for Your Skin: Pixi's Glow Tonic, Michael Todd's Cranberry Antiox, and LUSH's Tea Tree Water!

 Affiliate Link Press Sample

After doing without toner for years (I am not sure why?), I have rediscovered using toners after cleansing and am fully hooked! There is just something so refreshing about using a toner! Now that I have gotten used to using a toner again, my skincare routine does not seem complete without it!

Now, there are many different types of toners on the market. Toners that clarify and target breakout-prone skin by refining pores and disinfecting the skin, toners that contain AHAs or BHAs to exfoliate the skin, and hydrating toners with antioxidants and other anti-aging ingredients. Personally, I like all of the above. One of my biggest tips when it comes to skincare is to give your skin what it needs...and what it needs might be different depending on the time of year or even the particular day. Example: During my recent pregnancy, my skin got quite oily and breakout prone: so I discovered and fell in love with a toner that disinfected my skin and reduced my oil and breakouts.

Here are a few of my new favorite toners in current rotation in my skincare routine. They are all very different...yet, all very great! An Exfoliating Toner: Pixi's Glow Tonic, An Anti-Blemish Clarifying Toner: LUSH's Tea Tree Water, and a Hydrating/Anti-Aging Toner: Michael Todd's Cranberry Antiox Toner. To find out a bit more about each toner, please click "read more" below.

Top 10 Tuesdays: Beauty Items in my Purse!

I Bought It Affiliate Link Press Sample

Top 10 Tuesdays:
Top 10 Tuesdays is the blog series for List lovers! Top Ten Tuesdays are a bi-weekly collaborative link-up series where top Beauty Bloggers share their Top 10 Lists for a given topic. This week: Top 10 Beauty Items in my Purse!!!
My Handbag:
I can't dive into listing my beauty items in my handbag before raving a bit about my bag! My go-to purse for the past 3 months has been my Coach Madison Phoebe Leather Shoulder Bag. This gorgeous bag was a surprise birthday present from my husband. He basically told the salesperson at Coach that I was a mother of a toddler and that I needed a large bag. The Madison Phoebe in Cranberry was what they decided upon. I love the gorgeous magenta color and the spacious compartments. This bag is supple and soft. The cranberry color is so versitile. Honestly, this bag is a gorgeous pop of color and I am amazed at how it goes with practically every outfit!!! This is the perfect "Mommy Bag"! I can even fit a few diapers and a travel wipes container inside. The inside features 3 main compartments: a small middle zipper compartment which is perfect for the wallet, keys, etc, and two large and tall side snap top compartments. I have loosely organized one side as the "kid" side and one side as the "me" side. My side has my makeup, brush, phone, etc. The "kid" side holds the diapers, wipes, and a couple toys or snacks. The Madison Phoebe served me well throughout Summer and this color transitions perfectly into Fall!

My Handbag: The Coach Madison Phoebe Leather Shoulder bag in Cranberry:

Top 10 Items in my Purse:
  •  ecotools Retractable Kabuki: A retractable kabuki is a purse must-have! This one by ecotools is super soft, great for powder, blush, or bronzer touch-ups, and retails for only about $7.00! :)

  • Essence of Beauty Secret Woods Fine Fragrance Body Mist: I am body mist obsessed. I have a bit of a phobia of getting sweaty or stinky in public. So, I refresh with body mists throughout the day and always carry a travel size one with me. My current favorite is the super-affordable Essence of Beauty Secret Woods (which is a total dupe for Bath and Body Work's Twilight Woods, which I also love). The scent is so perfect for Fall and is such a warm and lingering scent!
  • Neutrogena Shine Control Powder in Invisible: This powder is fabulous! It does just what it says: controls shine. My skin has been super oily with pregnancy and this is certainly my go-to powder. Great for setting my makeup in the morning and for touch-ups throughout the day. I literally never leave the house without a powder in my bag!
  • L'Oreal Colour Riche Caress Lipstick in Cotton Pink: I usually carry around at least 5 or 6 lipsticks (lol, I know...excessive!). This one is my current favorite of my purse lipstick assortment (and really the only one I need to carry). Cotton Pink is the perfect princess-y pop of medium pink. I love how light and moisturizing this lipstick feels. It gives great color to your lips and instantly perks me up!
  • Laura Mercier Creme Cheek Colour in Rosebud: OMG! I adore this blush! It is the perfect medium-barbie pink blush. I actually can't believe that I haven't given this one a full review just yet! It truly is one of my all-time favorites. I love a cream blush for on the go as application is so easy. Just swipe on with your fingers!
  • Aquaphor Lip Repair + Protect SPF 30 Lip Protectant: This lip balm is so hydrating!!! It is my current favorite and I keep little tubes of this everywhere...bedside table, kitchen, desk, and yes...my purse! It instantly hydrates and smooths my dry lips. Plus, it has SPF! Love, love, love it!
  • Trish McEvoy Lip Gloss in Irresistible Petal: Like with lipsticks, I usually keep a handful of glosses in my purse. This gloss by Trish McEvoy is my favorite amongst my purse assortment! It is a sheer and shimmery hydrating pink high-shine gloss. It is comfortable and smooth on the lips. Love everything about it!
  • Pixi Extra Eye Bright Liner: I always look tired. I use great makeup to combat my dark circle problems (allergies, lack of sleep, heredity). This brightening eye liner from Pixi is fabulous! I just sweep it in my inner eye corners and on waterline to instantly look more awake! I apply throughout the day when I freshen up!
