Who else is tired Winter? lol! I know that I sure am. Well, Pixi beauty has such a beautiful lineup of products to get you inspired for glowing skin and makeup for the upcoming warmer months ahead. Let's dive right in to talking about some of my recent favorites from Pixi! :)

Pixiglow Cake 3-in-1 Luminous Transition Powder:

You guys might remember that I have a bit of a thing for blush. Well, I just about swooned when I first saw these *huge* Pixiglow Cakes! These light diffusing cheek powders can give you gorgeous contouring, color, and highlight depending on where you place your brush on your pan and on your face. You can use via solo swipes or swirl all together to customize your own beautiful look. The powder is soft and blendable which makes it super easy to apply. It reflects light subtly. So, you don't have to worry about being too shiny or sparkly with these. Plus, they are packed with good-for-your-skin ingredients like plumping peptides and grape seed extract. There are two shades. One is more of a peach and one is more of a pink. :) 

Liquid Fairy Lights:

These are long-wearing liquid glittery eyeshadows. They are gorgeous!!! These are super easy to apply. You literally just swipe these on your lids and you are all set. I got to try out a couple shades: Crystalline (a shimmery white) and BareBrilliance (a light taupey brown). I adore these and really want to try out more shades. There are 7 shades total. Plus, they are infused with chamomile and rose extracts to soothe and hydrate your skin. 

Pixi Skintreats Rose Ceramide Cream Intensive Moisturizer: 

Oooooh! I just love Ceramide in my skincare products. As I *cough* age, I am becoming more and more concious and selective of my skincare and the ingredients in said skincare. I have learned that Ceramides are one of the best ingredients that you can have to hydrate and renew the skin. Moisturizers with Ceramides in them just seem to work better! This ultra-rich cream from Pixi Skintreats is infused with both Ceramides and Rose Oil to give your skin a great look and feel. Plus, it is antioxidant rich to help protect your skin as well. This feels so nourishing on my Winter-dry skin. It absorbs quickly and leaves my skin feeling hydrated and balanced.

What a unique product! Honestly, I have never tried anything quite like it. This is a loose powder color pigment...for the lips!

The Pure Pigment Melting Lip Powder keeps lips healthy and hydrated while delivering rich, long-lasting color. Harnessing the power of Silica Silyate, a hydrogel that transforms from powder to cream upon contact with the oils naturally produced by the skin, the formula melts onto lips and offers a hydrating, matte finish. It won’t smudge, budge or transfer during wear. You can tap the product onto your cheeks and blend with your fingertips to wear as a blush too!

This come packaged as duos. I tried the following: Soft Nude/Tender Rose and Mellow Mauve/Gentle Pink. The shades are super flattering and I love the nice long wear of these, too! Plus, the packaging is super cute.

Glowing Goddess Luminizer with Brush:

This pretty duo contains a Glowing Goddess Luminizer (in a universal glowing shade) and Blush & Bronzer Brush. Gold toned highlighters are so on-trend right now. So, this is a perfect addition to my makeup routine. I love the pop of glow that this adds to my cheeks. I like to add this highlighter as the final step to my makeup routine. Plus, the brush is just the perfect size to add a sweep of glow to the top of my cheekbones, my browbones, nose, and chin. I tend to hit all of those spots for an all-over, yet sculpted, glow! This highlighter can be super glittery. So, be sure to use a light hand when you apply.

Blushing Brilliance Blush & Highlighter Wand:
This sleek little wand is great for a quick swipe of color for blush and for highlighting. It's sleek design makes it perfect for travel or your handbag. Plus, the slim shape can give you very precice application and results. I like to swipe it on and then blend it in with my fingers.

Shimmer, Shape & Go:
This is a gorgeous trio of cheek color and highlight/contour sticks. These creamy and chubby sticks work beautifully together to give beautiful rosey cheek color, deep contours, and a pop of glowy highlight. I find these super easy to use. Just swipe them on, blend in with fingers, and you are all set!

Mally's secret to getting in shape? This set of three face-shaping crayons! Featuring a weightless, creamy, super-blendable formula, the Shimmer, Shape & Go Highlight & Contour trio reveals the secret to easy contouring and highlighting.

Create sculpting shadows, illuminating highlights, and a soft blush for radiant-looking skin. The chubby crayon design makes application fast, easy, and mess-proof; simply swipe on and blend for a defined, "perfois" face!

Nothing beats the Summer heat for fun times in the sun. However, Summer fun can sure wreak havoc on your makeup and skin! From melting makeup, to sunburns, to trying to find a glow...what is a girl to do? 

Luckily, L’Oréal Paris Celebrity Makeup Artist, Sir John has some fantastic tips for Summer beauty and L’Oréal Paris has some great products to help you out along the way. I was able to try out these products and road-test these tips and I can tell ya'll. They do work!  

SUMMER BEAUTY HACK #1: COVERING A SUNBURN

SIR JOHN TIP: While everyone tries to avoid getting a sunburn, unfortunately sometimes it still happens. Luckily, there are some easy ways to cover it up. Sir John recommends using the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Total Cover Foundation ($12.99) along with a green color corrector as found in the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Total Cover Color Correcting Kit. The green will neutralize the redness on skin. Using a makeup sponge like the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Blend Artist Concealer Blender ($7.99), dab it into places that are burned the most - areas like your nose and cheekbone.

No, I didn't actually end up with a sunburn on my face this summer (I am very diligent with SPF...especially on my face). However, sometimes I do still get too much sun on my nose and I don't want my nose to look darker than the rest of my face. So, I used these tips to neutralize the color on my nose and even out my skintone. 

SUMMER BEAUTY HACK #2: HOW TO USE MELT-PROOF MAKEUP

SIR JOHN TIP: Melting makeup doesn’t have to be synonymous with heat and humidity. Sir John has a trick to tame eyebrows and keep them in place to weather the elements  – spraying hairspray on a thin toothbrush and then gently rubbing it on the brows (in more extreme cases like when on tour with clients, he has used a glue stick in place of hairspray). He then suggests penciling them in with an eye brow pencil like the L’Oréal Paris Brow Stylist Definer ($8.99). He also suggests using a waterproof mascara like the L'Oreal Paris Lash Paradise Waterproof Mascara ($9.99).

Melting makeup is no joke in the super hot, sunny, and humid Georgia climate that I live in. Sometimes it feels like an impossible feat to just get your makeup to stay on in the Summer. Plus, my brows are super unruly. So, I always appreciate tips about how to keep them tamed. The L’Oréal Paris Brow Stylist Definer and the L'Oreal Paris Lash Paradise Waterproof Mascara are now new favorites of mine!

SUMMER BEAUTY HACK #3: HOW TO FAUX THE JLO SUMMER GLOW

SIR JOHN TIP: To get the perfect faux glow, Sir John recommends exfoliating with a product like the L’Oréal Pure-Clay Exfoliate and Refine Cleanser ($6.99) the night before you want to tan to prep skin. Then use a self-tanner and apply all over face and body for an even and natural-looking glow. Sir John loves the L'Oreal Paris Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Serum ($10.99) as it’s easy to apply and lasts up to two weeks.

I am all about drugstore skincare and self tanners! I absolutely love the glow that I get from the L'Oreal Paris Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Serum. It is so natural-looking and as a super fair skinned girl, it is my best way to get "tan". Plus, the L’Oréal Pure-Clay line of cleansers are fantastic. There are three different ones and I just love the cleanse that I get from these. 

If you already have a gorgeous glow but want to add some highlight to your face, mix a liquid highlighter like the L’Oréal Paris True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator ($12.99) with a hydrating facial moisturizer from the L’Oréal Paris Hydra Genius ($17.99) line and apply it on your desired areas.

No Summer glow is complete without a touch of highlighter and some dewy moisturized skin! I am obcessed with the L’Oréal Paris True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator! Just a touch of this highlighter to key areas of my face (top of cheekbows, brow, center of nose, and chin) gives gorgeous dimension! Plus, I love the texture of the L’Oréal Paris Hydra Genius moisturizer. It plumps up the skin nicely and leaves me so hydrated. 

I hope these tips are helpful to you! I sure found them to be great ways to beat the heat this Summer with my beauty products from L'Oreal Paris!

Makeup Wars: Favorite Blush and Highlighter of 2014

To wrap up the end of the year, the Makeup Wars bloggers are picking their favorite products from 2014! The key is that we have to only pick *one item* in each category. Do you know how hard this is??? I honestly pondered this decision for quite some time and did finally come up with my pick!

Makeup Wars Best Blush/Highlighter 2014 with Too Faced, Hourglass

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Ethereal Light:

This powder is amazing! It gives you the most beautiful candlelit/lit-from-within glow. Seriously, I get asked "what is your secret for looking so young" when I wear this (for the record, I am 40 years old). This powder honestly just gives you beautiful skin...with a glow that isn't obviously; yet, it is still noticeable. 

Ambient Lighting Powder by HOURGLASS Cosmetics recreates the most exquisitely flattering light from ethereal moonlight to luminous candlelight. I wore this blush so much this year! Maybe it was because the packaging is *so cute* that I tended to keep it on top of my vanity...therefore tempting me to grab it more? Either way, it is a beautiful blush that gives great natural color. It makes me look somewhat "tan" which is hard to do with my uber-fair skin! I tend to put a bit of this blush all over (almost like a bronzer). That is the trick that the makeup artist did at Sephora who picked out this blush for me. :) 

What it is: A trio-color blush packed into one pretty heart. What it does: Three perfect swatches of ultra-flattering blush allow you to either swirl the colors together and apply or use more of one shade for a custom flush or highlight. This blush was developed with easy application and a no-fail color palette to take the guesswork out of creating a sweet, romantic flush. Where have primers been all of my life? lol! I know I am "late to the party" here, but I am just recently starting to get "into" primers. Sure, I have used them here and there in the past. However, now I am consistently using them and enjoying them as a daily addition to my makeup routine. I just love their ability to enhance your complexion and improve your skin texture. I used to think of primers as just a product to use when doing a full face of makeup. However, the new formulas that are available are skin perfectors that can even be used on light makeup or no makeup days. I even love just wearing them under a simple light dusting of powder! Bottom line: my skin just looks better when I wear a primer. So, now I am hooked!

This primer is gorgeous! In the packaging, it looks like a whiteish-silvery highlighter. However, when you apply it, it is this gorgeous pearlescent shimmer. At first I thought it would be too shimmery to wear all over under a foundation, but actually, it works! It really does perfect your skin and boost the "radiance" of your skin when you layer this product with foundation. It has a non-greasy feel and it sinks into your skin quickly. Plus, my foundation seems to wear longer over this. I absolutely love it! Plus, yes, you can use it as a highlighter, too. It is just beautiful!!!

Japonesque Velvet Touch Primer:

I tried out the shade #01 in the Liquid Light. I like to use Japonesque's Liquid Light as a bronzing highlighter or as an additive to lotions for an all-over glow. I found this product to be a bit too colorful to use as an all-over face primer/makeup base. I prefer to strategically place the color. As a highlighter/bronzer or as mix-in, it is beautiful! When I use it on my face, I only use the tiniest trace amount to add some bronzy shimmer to key areas of my face. I love using this the most on the body! I just pump a little bit into my body lotion to give my skin a gorgeous bronzy shimmery/sparkly glow!

All three of these new skin-perfecting/priming products from Japonesque are fabulous additions to my makeup collection. I love each of them for their own unique reason. I seem to reach for the Velvet Touch and Radiance Primer the most, but do love all three!
