YBF (Your Best Face) Prep: Brightening Exfoliant

Hello darlings!

I am so excited to be reviewing another product for ya'll from one of my all-time-fav skincare brands: YBF (Your Best Face)! Not familiar with YBF? Be sure to check out my previous reviews for YBF Boost and YBF Nourish Eye Cream as well as the YBF website.

YBF specializes in clinical/research-based luxury skincare infused with the best antioxidant formulas available. Seriously, my skin *hearts* YBF! Being a beauty blogger interested in skincare, I try a LOT of products. YBF is a brand that I always return to in-between testing other brands. I highly recommend checking out this line! Their products are fabulous and their customer service is phenomenal.

The timing of my product testing for YBF Prep turned out to be just perfect. I am currently 17 weeks pregnant and my skincare routine and needs have changed significantly with pregnancy. Most chemical exfoliants are no-no's during pregnancy. So, I really needed to find a good manual exfoliator. Also pregnancy has made my dry skin more oily and more prone to breaking out. I need effective products that are gentle and pregnancy safe.  Well, the good news: YBF Prep is it! I have found a fabulous go-to manual exfoliator that I can use safely throughout pregnancy and beyond.

Want to know what else is safe to use in pregnancy? Be sure to check out this post from 15 Minute Beauty Fanatic: New Mommy Beauty: Skin Care while Pregnant. Christine from 15 Minute Beauty Fanatic is not only an amazing blogger and friend, but also a PICU Doctor who approaches skincare research from a medical/scientific perspective.

For my review of YBF Prep, please keep reading after the page break.

BeneFit Bella Bamba Blush: So Pretty!!!

Hello Dolls!!!

As ya'll probably already know, I have a total "thing" for blushes! There is just nothing like a super flattering blush to instantly perk you up and make you feel pretty, fresh, and healthy! I have been loving this blush for a couple months already and just realized that I haven't reviewed it yet!

I spur-of-the moment picked this up while browsing at Sephora with my Bestie. No, I hadn't been looking for a blush that day and quite honestly, I rarely have spur-of-the-moment makeup purchases. Most purchase are well researched and thought-out. What can I say, I am totally "type A" and I apply research and careful decision to all aspects of my life! But, when presented with a a super pretty makeup color in adorable shiny pink packaging from a brand that I love and trust like BeneFit, well, I just had to try it! I know, I am a sucker for cute packaging! BeneFit *always* delivers when it comes to that!!!

As usual, I digress! ;) This review is for bella bamba Blush by BeneFit. So, now on to the blush review, swatches, and photos!!! Please keep reading after the jump!

Get Your Glow On! Self Tanning: Tips & Tricks

Hey Dolls! Its time for a "beauty break"! It has been awhile since I have posted a "Beauty Break" or "tips & tricks" article. This type of writing is totally fun for me!

So, lets talk self-tanner. As a fair-skinned girl, this is one of my favorite topics! Yes, I know, I should embrace the pale. Really, I do! But, I am not going for a super tan look with self tanner. Even when I self-tan, it is more about "taking the edge off my pale" than getting dark. I mean, really, I am so fair that my skin almost gets a "purple" cast. Is anyone else like this? So, self-tanning is a nice way to lose that pale-white glare or, shall we say, "losing the purple"?

Now, I must insert here that I am currently pregnant. So, I have really cut-back on the self-tanning. While my OB said that using self-tanners is perfectly fine, I am generally avoiding using products with chemicals. Typically, when I am not pregnant, I self-tan year round. In the summers I self-tan about 1x per week and use a gradual tanner throughout the week. So, while pregnancy has curbed some of my self-tanning, I have many years of experience with self-tanners and have collected many tips over the years.

So, take a moment for a "Beauty Break"! To read more of my thoughts on self-tanning and to hear my Tips & Tricks for good application and results, please keep reading!

"Cover It! Concealer Review Series": Time Balm Concealer (review)

The quest for a perfect concealer continues. So, it's time for another installment in my Cover It! Concealer Review Series.

If you are new to this series. Please check out my Cover It! Intro post for some background information on my concealer-hunt. Curious as to what I have reviewed so far? Then be sure to visit my Boo-Boo Cover-Up post and my CoverBlend

My Concealment Issues:
Why am I looking for a good concealer? Well, primarily because I am plagued with very dark under-eye circles. In addition to needing a pretty heavy-duty concealer for my dark circles, I also need a good medium coverage concealer for redness around my nose area and on my chin. Often I end up using 2 concealers on my face. A lighter one for concealing redness and a heavier/creamier one for the eye area.

All of the causes/reasons for Dark Under Eye Circles apply to me. I have allergies; therefore, I am plagued with redness and slight puffiness in the eye area. My allergies are not just seasonal, but year-round. So, I struggle with this throughout the year. Also, my dark under eye circles just seem to be  hereditary.  So, in addition to the redness and puffiness, I have those dark purplish dark circles. Furthermore, I never seem to get enough sleep and have some mild insomnia issues. All of this combined =major dark circles! I swear concealer were invented for someone just like me! :)

So, the search continues with theBalm timeBalm Concealer, Lighter than Light. Before trying this concealer I read great reviews about it's effectiveness for dark under eye circles. For my full review, swatches, and photos, keep reading after the jump break.
