Queen Helene Royal Curl Hair Care Review

Hello my dear readers!

Have any of you ever experienced a change in hair texture? I have had straight hair all of my life. But, within the past year or so, I have noticed the texture of my hair slowly starting to change! At first I thought it was my imagination, but my hair colorist confirmed it! My super straight hair has started developing some waves! As someone who has admired curly hair for so many years, you would think I would be very excited about this. But, my hair is only wavy/kinky in certain spots. So, it can be frustrating to style my hair.

The folks over at BeautyStat.com contacted me to see if I would like to review this new line of Royal Curl products from Queen Helene. I thought, "Hmm, maybe instead of fighting the waves/curls, I could use line designed for curls? Maybe I could actually coax more curl out of my hair?" BeautyStat.com felt that my interesting hair situation could make for a unique perspective on this product for a review!

A little more about my hair: As I mentioned, my hair is primarily straight. But, there are some wavy areas right at the crown of my head. My hair is very long and highlighted. Therefore, it is somewhat dry and damaged. My hair is fine in texture but very thick.

If you are curious about the new Royal Curl line from Queen Helene (and want to hear about an opportunity to win the Royal Curl Curl Shaping Creme), please keep reading after the jump!

Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion (review)

Have you ever heard of a shielding lotion?

According to Skin MD, Shielding Lotions provide(s) a natural barrier on top of the skin to protect it from outside chemicals and irritants. In addition, it also acts to keep the moisture and the oils in the skin so that the skin can heal itself...Shielding lotions are an effective dry skin treatment because they bond with the skin and protect it for long periods of time.

Not only do I personally have very dry skin, but also with my occupation as a Speech-Language Pathologist, I wash my hands and use antibacterial hand gel very frequently throughout the day. Needless to say, this wreaks havoc on my skin, hands, and cuticles. I literally am one of those people who has lotions and hand creams everywhere. On my desk, at my therapy table, in my purse, in my car, on my night stand, and next to every sink! I am determined to beat dry skin! But, even with those extra measures, my skin is dry. Especially my hands.

Skin MD is an eco-friendly company!!! This is a company with strong principals and ethical environmental practices.

Needless to say, I was excited to try this Skin MD Natural Shielding lotion! So, how did I like it? Keep reading after the jump to find out!

Stila Custom Color Blush: review

With my penchant for blushes, I just had to try out this new Stila Custom Color Blush!!!

So, i just love the idea of this product! A blush that "adjusts" to your own personal shade? The concept reminds me of the mood ring that I used to wear in middle school, lol!!! I am SURE many of you had those??? But, seriously, they make mood lipgloss and nailpolishes so why not a "mood blush"?

I was thrilled when I stumbled upon this pretty blush when browsing online to spend my Birchbox points! So, with my Birchbox points, this blush ended up being "free" for me! What is Birchbox? Check out my Birchbox Intro Post! But, if not redeeming points, this blush will cost you about $20.

Not only am I intrigued by the concept of a Custom Color Blush or a "self-adjusting mood blush",  but also I flat out love the color of the product in the pan! But, will it wear that color on me??? Please keep reading for my review, swatches, and photos!

Hello my dears! It is time for Part 2 of my Clinical Organics Skincare review series. Here is my Clinical Organics Brand Introduction and Cleansers/Toner Review!!! Be sure to visit that Intro post if you haven't already! :) I am continuing to review my Limited Edition Preview Pack.

If you are looking for an eco-friendly skincare brand with great ethics and gentle, yet effective, products, then you must check out this new boutique skincare line by Clinical Organics! The products are loaded with effective organic and pure ingredients. They don't add any unnecessary fragrance or bulking agents. Plus, the packaging is "precycled" and simple (no frills here ladies)! The company contributes a portion of each sale to a non-profit organization (KIVA.org). Overall, Clinical Organics seems to be very environmentally friendly and socially conscious.
