Affiliate Link Press Sample

I am a big believer in beauty from the inside out. Your skin is a refelection of your body's overall health. So, we must be good to our bodies with our diet, exercise, hydration, and with suppliments! As much as I try to eat healthy, I know that I am missing quite a few vital nutrients in my overall diet. So, I always suppliment to make sure that my body has all of the vitamins, minerals, and nutrients it needs on a daily basis.

I am always switching around when it comes to suppliments as there are just so many to try. I got super excited when I found out that one of my favorite skincare lines, Jane Iredale, also sells suppliments. I got to try out a variety of them and am excited to share some details!

Suppliment your Healthy Diet with life’sDHA™: DHA for All Stages of Life!

I have always been a bit of a health-enthusiast. This started from a very young age as my parents raised me to love eating healthy home-made foods. From gardening to enjoying preparing foods, to eating at the table with my family-I enjoy great foods and a healthy diet!

Even though both my family and I enjoy a healthy and balanced diet, I am still a big believer in supplements. There are honestly just some nutrients that I know are so essential and important that I am not getting enough of in my typical food rotation. So, I do enjoy using both supplements and foods that are enriched with vitamins and nutrients. This became particularly important to me when I was pregnant with both of my kids. Nourishing both my own body and my growing baby was of the utmost importance. I did quite a bit of research on prenatal vitamins and nutrients that babies need in-utero. I was fascinated by DHA omega-3 and realized that this was a nutrient that was missing in my diet that I not only needed, but that my growing baby needed too!

DHA for Moms: Pregnancy and more!

If you are pregnant, planning on becoming pregnant, or a mother of a young child, you should consider learning more about DHA omega-3!

DHA is an omega-3 is naturally found in breast milk and it accumulates in significant amounts in the brain, eyes and heart. The presence of DHA omega-3 is essential to your body throughout all stages of life: maternal health, infant health, children and adult health. DHA is an essential nutrient not only for brain health, but also for heart and eye health and development as well. DHA is essential for infant cognitive development as well as brain health throughout life.

Supplementing with DHA omega-3 from a vegetarian source from algae (in the life’sDHA® brand), is a fantastic way to add DHA to your body. The life’sDHA® website offers detailed information about this fatty acid’s role at various stages of life. Be sure to visit the life’sDHA® website to read more about how DHA can support brain and eye development throughout all stages of life. Plus, there are some great articles about fitness tips, nutritious recipes and much more!

DHA needs in Children and in Later Life Stages:

Children need DHA omega-3, too, to support the health of their growing brain. There are a variety of children's supplements on the market and foods that are enriched with DHA. DHA needs even expand to adulthood. The need for DHA is present throughout life.

The more I read about DHA, the more I realize that it is absolutely essential and a nutrient that I need to make sure is present in both my own body and those of my family. Therefore, I am a big believer in supplementing with DHA!  life’sDHA® is a high-quality vegetarian source of DHA omega-3 sourced from algae.  life’sDHA® is an ingredient in foods, beverages and supplements throughout the world. Look for the life’sDHA® logo on product packaging to know you’re getting a vegetarian source of DHA omega-3.

His & Hers Beauty Besties CVS Haul!

I bought it/Sponsored Post Affiliate Link

CVS Beauty Besties:
It is time for a CVS Beauty Haul! This time, there is a twist...this is a His & Hers haul! CVS is one of our go-to drugstores for beauty products, medicines, toiletries, and other daily staples. When CVS suggested that I grab a Bestie and head out to CVS for a haul, I decided to grab my husband and have some fun with some CVS shopping! Hey-we are parents for 2 kids under 4. A CVS haul feels like a mini-vacation, lol! Plus, my husband has grown to be a bit of a product-lover like me.

CVS Deals: November is the Month to Shop:
Before diving into our His & Hers Beauty Besties Haul, lets talk a bit about some of the deals that are going on at CVS this month:

CVS/pharmacy is celebrating the festive month of November with special deals storewide and online! From 11/1-11/21, shoppers can earn more than $50 ExtraBucks™ Rewards in stores and save over $35 online throughout the month by purchasing select beauty products from brands like Makeup Academy, Maybelline, L’Orรฉal, Nuance by Salma Hayek, and CoverGirl! Whether you’re getting an early start on your holiday shopping or restocking your beauty closet, CVS has got you covered for the best beauty deals in skincare, haircare and/or makeup!

Deals Include:
  • Makeup Academy – Spend $12, get $4 ExtraBucks Rewards in stores/$4 off online
  • Maybelline (eye, face, lips)  – Buy 2, get $5 ExtraBucks Rewards in stores/$5 off online
  • L’Orรฉal (eye, face, lips, nails) – Spend $12, get $4 ExtraBucks Rewards in stores/$4 off online
  • Nuance by Salma Hayek – Spend $15, get $3 ExtraBucks Rewards in stores/$3 off online

As you know, Beauty Club membership has numerous perks (free sign-up, 10% off beauty shopping pass at enrollment, $5 ExtraBucks® Rewards for every $50 spent on qualifying beauty purchases).

How I got my Great Deals:
Shopping tips for using CVS Extra Care card, Extra Bucks, and Coupons:

There is no question, I got some amazing deals during my CVS haul! One thing I have really noticed in my years of CVS shopping, the more you spend, the better the deals. For this haul, I got over $160 worth of products for just over $110! Amazing! So, how did I save so much money??? Here is how I got such a great deal: First, I downloaded a 25% off coupon digitally to my CVS extracare (discount card I carry on my key chain). I got the coupon in my email which is linked to my CVS extracare card number. It was as easy as reading my email on my phone and clicking "download to card". Whenever I get to CVS, I scan my card at one of their kiosks. The kiosk prints out coupon and a summary of the discounts on my card. So, when I got to CVS to shop, the kiosk print out confirmed my 25% was loaded and printed me out about 5 coupons (3 of which I used in my haul for $2 off over $10 in vitamins, $3.00 off Revlon, and $1.50 off of Batteries). Plus, my purchase earned me $7.00 in Extra Bucks (a coupon you get after purchase attached to your recipt. Extra Bucks work just like cash at CVS!). Tip: I have found that I do best when I use my Extra Bucks right away (otherwise, I risk losing them in my purse or forgetting about them). So, just when I thought I was "done" shopping, I used my $7.00 Extra Bucks coupon to buy a Revlon lipstick with my $3.00 off coupon. This saved me $10.00! So, my Revlon lipstick ended up being only $2.29 with tax! These are just some of the deals I got! I will detail more below. :) Keep reading!

What is in my Bag? Date Night Purse Essentials:
It is time for another "What is in my Bag?" post! I must admit, these are my favorite posts to write as well as read on other blogs. I just love knowing what those "must have" essentials are for everyone! There are certainly products that I do not want to leave home without! I am very particular about what I pack in my purse. I want to be ready for all situations. I have very different needs when packing my purse or diaper bag depending on occasion: Out-and-About with the kids or Date Night essentials. I like being both organized and prepared. Today I am going to share with you my What is in my Bag? Date Night Essentials!

What is in my Bag? Date Night Purse Essentials:
As a busy Stay-at-Home Mom of a 3-year old and a 1-year old, a Date Night is certainly a big event! We do at least one Date Night out a month and it is certainly something that I always look forward to. Being the Planner that I am, I like to be prepared for every occasion with exactly what I need in my purse! My purse essentials for Date Night are certainly different than my essentials for everyday outings with the kids. :) When I am out with the kids, I either need a huge bag or a diaper bag to carry the millions of things that I need. When I am on date night, I can carry a much smaller and lighter bag. However, I still want to be prepared with exactly what I need. As a busy Mom of two Littles, I have no time for a hangovers, getting sick with a cold, or staying up too late. My days start early and I am busy all day keeping up with the kids. I need to always be on pointe, even after a date-night-out! There are no "days off" for busy Moms! So, while out on date night I need to make sure to stay hydrated, take my vitamins, and prevent headaches with Advil. These products can help me feel better the next day!

A Typical Date Night Out:
A typical Date Night Out for us is usually a nice dinner out at one of the upscale outdoor shopping areas nearby. Before and after the movie, we usually walk around a shop a little and maybe have a cocktail. Sometimes we like to see a movie before or after Dinner as well. I am a busy Mom of two Littles, I have no time for a hangover, lol.

Purchasing my Purse Essentials: Walmart Shopping:
When it comes to purchasing essentials for myself or my Family, Walmart is my one-stop shop! It was easy to find some of my handbag essentials at Walmart. The best part? A sales associate saw me looking around with a shopping list and 2 kids in my cart and asked me if I needed help. She literally showed me where everything was and walked me to it! Talk about service! I was very pleased with the help. Especially since I had two busy kids that were ready to go home and nap. You can see how easy it was to find these items by taking a peek at my Walmart photos above and below from when I was shopping! :)

My travel sized Advil Tablet Vial is located in the travel section at Walmart in the back of one of the beauty aisles. They have basket like shelving with a huge assortment of travel sized products.

My Emergen-C Immune+ Chewables were located in the Pharmacy area of Walmart on the aisle with the ChapSticks (right in front of the pharmacy counter).

My ChapStick Total Hydration was actually not on the aisle with the other ChapStick formulas but on a side display on the side of the end cap on the next aisle over.

My Date Night Handbag:
Oh how I love my sparkly sequin Coach bag! My husband got this for me for Christmas 2 or 3 years ago and it is still one of my favorite handbags. I primarily carry it either during the Holidays or for evenings out. I am pretty obsessed with it, lol! It is the quintessential girly-girl-at-heart sparkly bag! :)

For date night, I try not to load up my purse too much. I stick to the basics! Here are some of my handbag essentials for date night:
  • Advil Tablet Vial: Let's be real ya'll. This is date night and there will be wine and cocktails. I like to be proactive and preventative when it comes to headaches. Advil is absolutely my go-to headache medicine and it is a handbag staple. I am sure that either myself or my husband will reach for this on any given date night! I love the portable size of this vial. It contains 10 tablets. Nothing’s stronger, longer lasting or better on your tough aches and pains than Advil, and nothing works on more pains than Advil (among OTC pain relievers).
  •  ChapStick Total Hydration: ChapStick is a family favorite. From my lips, to the kids, to my husband, we all love ChapStick! There is no question that a great lip balm like this one is an essential for date night...there will be kissing! ;) lol Sorry, I digress. I really do like the formula of the Total Hydration ChapSticks. They are not like the traditional ChapSticks. I find the formula to be a bit more silky and hydrating. This is no surprise since the formula contains great ingredients! It has an advanced nourishing formula with argan oil and avocado butter and rosehip oils.
  • Emergen-C Immune+ Chewables: More Healthy Days, More Healthy Nights: This time of year is certainly the unfortunate time of year when colds and the flu are going around. The best defense is a good immune system. So, I like to give my immune system its best defense by getting as much sleep as possible, taking vitamins, and drinking lots of water. Carrying chewable vitamins around helps me to remember to take them! Plus, the Vitamin C and antioxidants can help to counteract any negative effects from a late night out!
  • Nail File: No one wants a hang nail or rough nails on a night out! A nail file is essential. I always have one in my bag.
  • A Mirror: A small mirror is so helpful to have on hand. This one is so pretty with its blue/ green/purple colors! It snaps shut to protect the mirror inside and keep it clean.
  • Minor Emergency Kit: I have this little kit in a zipper bag with bandages, antibiotic ointment, tissues, a hair tie, and a panty liner. I want to be prepared!
  • My Wallet and Phone: I absolutely never leave home without my smartphone and my wallet. Believe me, I would feel lost without my phone. Every time I try to downsize my bag by leaving my wallet at home, my husband ends up asking me for cash to tip the valet or I realize when I order a drink that I need my ID. So, now I just always bring it!

What are your Purse Essentials for a Date Night Out? Are there products that you consider must-haves for your bag? Please let me know in the comments below! I would love to hear about your essentials.
