I was a little shocked and dismayed to see that Atlanta will be the 13^th most wrinkle-prone city in 2040! Ack!!! With that in mind, you can be sure that I will be diligent in continuing my anti-aging skincare routine. 

So, what exactly does this RoC® Wrinkle Ranking Study tell us? It is a comprehensive survey evaluated a variety of factors and discovered some unique trends that affect wrinkle proneness in major cities across the United States. 

RoC® Skincare and Spearling's Best Places partner in the 3rd Annual  RoC® Wrinkle Ranking Study to identify the underlying factors-based on geographic location in the U.S.-that are likely to impact skin aging by the year 2040. Curous about how your state ranks? Key Findings Include:

• Larger, metropolitan areas are most wrinkle-prone in 2040 due to the effects of their extreme urban environments, including lower air quality and commuter congestion.
• Forecasts of high temperatures paired with less precipitation could increase the risk of wrinkles in areas such as the Great Lakes and the Northeast. 
• Cities like Nashville, St. Louis, and Kansas City are expected to retain smoking rates significantly higher than the rest of the country, leaving residents more at-risk for wrinkles. 

My Georgia readers, what to hear more? Here’s how the ATL is stacking up to #13:

• Georgians, Georgians Everywhere – Contributing to the A’s projected ranking is its high population (5^th highest) and rapid anticipated growth into 2040. A lengthy commute and exposure to air pollution come with the territory of living in one of the largest metro areas. 
• Shades On, Smoke Gone – On the upside, The Big Peach can be proud of both a skin cancer forecast and smoking rate below average. Keep on using the SPF and kicking “butts!”
• A Sticky Situation – Did you know Atlanta currently has the fourth most gum chewers in the country? While residents may boast fresh breath, some experts believe the act of chewing can causes lines and folds around the mouth due to muscle overuse.

Another skincare essential is a good serum. This anti-aging formula is clinically proven to reduce both fine lines and deep wrinkles. For me, this product has both immediate and long-term results. I have noticed a reduction in fine lines with this serum and have had improvements in skin tone, smoothness, and overall radiance. I love the texture of this serum, too! It makes a great makeup base.

The 2015 Wrinkle Ranking Stucy: How Does your State Rank? 

Location is everything when it comes to choosing the right neighborhood, apartment or family home, but did you know that the state you choose to live in could contribute to the development of wrinkles? Recently, RoC® Skincare revealed the results of the 2015 Wrinkle Ranking study and Georgia (my home state) is #27! This is so interesting!

In partnership with Sperling’s Best Places, Wrinkle Ranking helps Americans read between their fine lines and wrinkles by exposing the less obvious, state-specific factors that contribute to aging skin.

So, why did Georgia have a median rank of #27?

• Humidity keeps skin moist
• Low rate of skin cancer
• High levels of pollution
• Lengthy commutes and long workdays

Looking at these results, I definitely find that they all are true for Georgia. The pollution and long commutes are certainly a contrast to other areas of the country. However, with Georgia's median rank, we certainly are not the worst. I am really happy to hear that there is a low rate of skin cancer. This is actually a bit of a surprise to me. However, that might just be because skin cancer has personally affected me since my Dad has it (Basal Cell Carcinomas that are removed practically monthly) and I have lost a dear friend to Melanoma. I certainly agree that the humidity does great things for your skin! Next time I am complaining about how humid it is and how it is frizzing my hair, lol, I will need to remember the benefits for my skin! Hey, I would rather deal with some humidity than having to deal with extremely dry air that leaves you feeling parched.

Well, I find that with this product, I want to add in the extra step because this product is so much more than just a primer. It is also an anti-aging treatment serum! Copper and Zinc have anti-aging abilities to not only smooth your fine lines and wrinkles but also to increase skin firmness. Plus, this product is a nice complement to any retinol skincare routine as Copper and Zinc work well in conjunction with Retinol.

As far as results, the biggest that I see is the instant smoothing effect of this product. When applying makeup, my pores and fine lines are less apparent. I also feel that my skin looks and feels more hydrated and plump when I use this. Only time will tell when assessing the anti-aging and firming product claims. However, so far, so good! I am really enjoying using this product!

Next time you are in the drugstore, be sure to check out this new RoC® Smooth Perfexion® Instant Line Corrector with COPPER-ZINC TECHNOLOGY. I recommend replacing your usual primer with it for a few weeks. You are not going to want to go back to a regular primer after using this one packed with anti-aging ingredients!

My Skin:

Get Your Scrub On: RoC's Daily Resurfacing Disks

Do you ever find yourself in the situation where you are just too tired to do your evening skincare routine? This happens to me frequently! I will fall asleep on the couch and then have to drag myself to bed. It is all that I can do to wash my face on these nights. These Daily Resurfacing Disks from RoC are perfect for those nights!

These Daily Resurfacing Disks are so super easy to use! They are pre-moistened dual textured disks. When I say pre-moistened, I mean totally soaked with product (a good thing! I hate a dry wipe/facial round). You can easily remove your makeup, cleanse, and exfoliate with just a few swipes of the pad! Talk about a time saver!!!

My Skin:
My skin is combo-normal currently (combo-dry in winter and combo-oily in summer). I have no major lines or wrinkles yet. However, I do have some very fine lines that surface when my skin is a bit dry. Also, my skin is sensitive. 

Anti-Aging Benefits!
The exfoliation from this product has clinical results! According to RoC, the results are as follows:

• In just one week: The appearance of fine lines is reduced. Skin tone and texture is improved. 
• After 4 weeks: Signs of photo-aging appear diminished.
• After 12 weeks: The appearance of wrinkles and pores is diminished.

While I do not use this product exclusively, I do notice results from my sporadic use. I have averaged using these about twice a week. When I use these consistently, I notice that my fine lines look smoothed and my skin tone looks more even. Plus, I learned from my RoC Webinar (with a dermatologist and a RoC product formulator scientist) that exfoliating your skin is a crucial step in your skincare routine as exfoliation allows your treatment products to penetrate better.

Here is how I use these:
First I splash my face with some water. Then I lightly use the smooth side over my eye area to remove my makeup. Then I use the textured side to lightly exfoliate my face. I only press very lightly and I move the pad in small circular patterns. The pads feel so cool and refreshing on my skin! Then I flip the pad over to the non-textured side, close my eyes, and gently wipe over the eye area. Be sure to be careful around this area as the solution can sting your eyes a bit. Just keep those eyes closed tight! Next I throw away the disc and splash my face again with water to rinse. It is that easy! My skin rinses clean and does not feel tight nor have a cleanser residue.

While I have sensitive skin, I did not experience any irritation from this product. The textured/exfoliating side is really quite gentle. These are not harsh scrub pads at all. Very gentle indeed! Note: This product is quite fragranced. So, if fragrances irritate you, then test in a small area first. While I would prefer this product to be a bit less scented, the scent is nice and not overwhelming.

The Skinny:

• One jar contains 28 self-foaming discs soaked in product. The top of the jar flips up. I am amazed at how moist these stay! I have not experienced any of these discs drying out.
• You could potentially cut these discs in half to get more uses out of this jar. 1/2 a disc still has enough product soaked into it to use on your entire face. I just keep a pair of scissors next to my jar and cut before using.

I just love these discs and will continue to use these! :) Also, I find these are great for travel! I can just toss in the exact number of discs that I need into a ziplock!

Anti-Aging Skincare Tips from the Experts at RoC: Your Questions, Answered!

One thing is for certain. We are all getting older! As we all know, much of the skincare and beauty market is geared towards looking younger and fighting aging. All of the treatments and products out there can be overwhelming and confusing! So many options. So many ingredients! So, what is a girl to do?

As a RoC Beauty Ambassador, I recently had the opportunity to take part in a Webinar with the skincare experets at RoC. You may remember me asking for anti-aging blog reader questions on my Pammy Blogs Beauty facebook page (If you do not follow me there yet, be sure to click the link!)? Well, I was able to submit those questions to the experts. I found those answers for you and many more! Keep reading as your questions are answered below.

The Webinar's speakers were Dermatologist Dr. Erin Gilbert, MD, PhD, FAAD and Menas Kizoulis, Principal Scientist of Skincare, Research & Development for Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies, Inc. It was so amazing to have an opportunity to hear skincare wisdom and tips from such cutting edge researchers! So cool to e-meet the people that are directly involved in the formulation of the RoC and Johnson & Johnson products that we all know and love.  I literally sat there with my laptop and a notebook furiously taking notes on absolutely everything they had to say.

RoC's "You and Improved" Challenge Winners!

 

As a RoC Ambassador, I get to bring you all of the latest news from this great brand! 

You may remember their recent "You and Improved Challenge"? The lucky finalists were flown to New York City for a makeover and a photo shoot. They participated in a transformation that helped them look 10 years younger with the help of our RoC® Style Squad: leading dermatologist expert Dr. Erin Gilbert and fashion stylist Marcellas Reynolds. The journey began with their skin, and from there, they underwent an entirely new look – hair, makeup, skincare tips and wardrobe in one day – now reinvigorated and looking forward to making positive changes in all aspects of their lives.

MARINA's Story:

I am a current user of RoC products. Yes! I choose to follow the rainbow that is waiting on me if I am selected for the "RoC You and Improved Contest". I'm Brazilian, 56 years old, ready to make a life change and focus on using all of my modeling/TV Soap Opera experience to return to this market after spending 35 years focusing on my 4 kids and a marriage that is over. I'm going back to School and Fashion Retailing to apply it more efficiently in improving my excellent sales skills, building up a career in that field. What a life change! I need a RoC professional makeover to accomplish my goals, get back into the modeling market and re-invent myself. I need a NEW ME!!

TAMI's Story:

My life is about to start over! After a decade of being a stay-at-home-mom, I am newly single, heading to a new state and about to enter the job market as a cosmetologist for the very first time. I'm nervous, but excited! I've recently lost 25 pounds, so I'm on my way, but a fresh look and a brighter, more youthful face would definitely help my prospects in the job market. It would also give me the boost of confidence I need to start making the changes I want and need to make to create the life I've been dreaming of. There's been so little time to take care of me, and this would be a really nice way to treat myself AND move ahead with my goals.

MARY ANN'S Story:

Have you ever felt like this is a second chance? Well, I do and here is my story. I am a proud mother of an 8 year old boy that is active and loves life. This past year I found that I was at a crossroads with my life. I was driving home from spring break and had 4 calls from my doctor to come in for a second mammogram. I knew then that something was wrong. Yes, I had breast cancer. So, this past year I fought breast cancer and won. It has been a challenge but I have overcome and I praise the Lord that he has left me here for the second half of my life. I am now in my transformation part of my life. I have beat cancer, lost 25 pounds and I am now taking care of my body and spirit. I feel like I am in my 20's but I want to look better.

Looking for a great scrub? Try RoC's new MAX Cleanser!

I know that I have said it before, but nothing beats a great facial scrub!!! Not only does it "feel good", but also it does great things for your skin!

Good (and gentle) exfoliation removes surface debris while it revives and brightens your complexion. This allows your skincare treatments to absorb better and be more effective. For me, the key is finding a balance. I need a scrub to be strong enough to be effective, yet still gentle enough to not irritate my sensitive skin. As a RoC Ambassador, I get to try out all the new great products from RoC. This new MAX Cleanser just launched in July (you may remember that I just finished hosting a giveaway for this?). Well, I finally got to try it myself and just had to share my thoughts since so many of you commented that you were interested in it. 

My Skin:
In a nutshell, my skin is normal-dry (more "normal" in Summer and Normal-Dry in the cooler months). I rarely break out; but, I do have some occasional pesky congestion on my chin. My skin is super sensitive too. Many products can increase the redness in my skin or cause irritation. As you can imagine, that makes me hesitant to try new scrubs. I do not have any major signs of aging just yet. However, I am in my mid-late 30s. So, I want to try to fend off aging for as long as possible. I have just a few fine expression lines that crop up when my skin is dehydrated.

Eye Love You! Roc Multi Correxion Lift Anti-Gravity Eye Cream

I feel that the quintessential anti-aging/anti-fatigue skincare product is eye cream. A hands-down must-have! For me, nothing beats a good eye cream. Any product that promotes giving the user a more rested appearance has me taking note!!!

Also, I am typically willing to really splurge for a good eye cream. I will save money elsewhere in my skincare routine in order to pay for a good eye cream. Well ladies, I am so thrilled with this new eye cream from Roc. The best part? This is a drugstore eye cream ya'll! Granted, Roc is priced a bit high for the drugstore. But, still!

My Eye Needs:
I often express that my eyes are my "trouble area". No, I am not complaining about wrinkles. I am lucky, at 37 years old, to have fended off wrinkles thus far. But, it is only a matter of time! I do have some very faint fine lines that mostly surface when my skin is dehydrated. My eye issues are that of puffiness from fatigue, dark circles (hereditary, fatigue, lack of sleep-infant at home, and allergies), sensitive eye skin, and sensitive eyes. Also, my eye area is prone to redness. Often, I will like an eye cream, but it will sting my eyes. Or, it will be gentle. But, it won't "do anything" as far as anti-aging. So, what is a girl to do? It seems as if I am always trying out eye creams looking for the "next big thing" or my holy-grail eye cream.
