Luxe Anti-Aging Skincare: Lavelier Marine Essentials Collection 

My First Impressions

Are you looking to boost your anti-aging skincare routine? I know that I am always on the hunt for great products. So, I am supre excited to share about Lavelier's Marine Essentials Collection. Lavelier has a variety of lines available and the Marine Essentials Collection sounded like it would be the best match for my skincare concerns. 

My Skin:

Before diving into my first impressions review, lets chat a little bit about my skin. I have mildly sensitive combination skin that is somewhat prone to oiliness in the t-zone area. I am currently using Rx Retin-A. So, I also get some patches of dryness and some increased sensitivity from the Retin-A. I am in my mid-40s. So, I am very interested in age-prevention and anti-aging products. So far, my biggest "aging" concerns are fine lines and some mild sun damage. Also, I occasionally get clogged pores and sometimes get a stray breakout (infrequently, but it can happen!).

Lavelier Marine Essentials Collection:

I am so excited that I have had a chance to try out almost the entire Lavelier Marine Essentials Collection. I tried out every product except for the two Marine Essentials Serums. So, lets talk about each product. 

These products come beautifully packaged with large boxes (they are somewhat bulky, but are attractive). The products themselves have a white containers with silver emblishments. My only other packaging critique is that some of the items (the moisturizers and the facial peel) are packaged identically. So, if you are in a hurry with your beauty routine, you need to double check the writing on the back to see if you grabbed the right item. 

The Marine Essentials Collection from Lavelier was designed to suit all skin types. It is an anti-aging line that gives you all of the essentials to fight fine lines and mild signs of aging. The products are created to be used together to maximize your results.

Lavelier | Marine Deep Moisturizer: This anti-aging eye cream contains powerhouse age fighting ingredients like Green Tea Extract and Retinyl Palmitate. This super hydrating moisturizer is effective without leaving a greasy residue. It works to moisturize your skin and fight fine lines. Since this is a vitamin-a product (Retinyl Palmitate), I like to use it at night on nights that I am not using Retin-A nor the Lavelier Marine Evening Repair Cream. It retails for $300.00. 

Lavelier | Marine Evening Repair Cream: This super moisturizing cream is enriched with shea butter and the antioxidant coral seaweed to moisturize and fight free radicals. It works while you sleep to plump up the skin and diminish your fine lines. It is super thick. However, it does not feel heavy on the skin. It is soothing and hydrating. I can really see the difference in my skin in the morning after using this in the evening. I wake up with smooth hydrated skin that does not feel greasy. Retails for $350. 

Lavelier | Eye Firming Concentrate: This is an eye treatment that helps treat puffiness with caffeine. It contains other skin-loving ingredients like collagen, Vitamin E, and Vitamin A. It is very thick and rich. You really only need a small amount of this eye cream to treat your eye area. So, a jar of this eye cream will last you a very long time. This is good because this product is extremely expensive at $500.00 per jar. I like using this in the evenings since it is super rich. I feel that it might be too heavy for daytime for layering underneath under eye concealer. I do feel that my eye area looks smoother when I use this super rich and nourishing treatment. 

Lavelier | Biology Mousse Cleanser: This fragranced foaming cleanser is super thick coming out of the tube. Yet, it is lightweight and works up to a lovely foam. It is a perfect first step to your morning or evening Lavelier skincare routine. You only need a small amount to get a great lather. It rinses clean without leaving a feeling of residue. Retails for $175.00

Lavelier | Intensive Facial Peel: This product is recommened to use about 1-2x per week. Since I am using Retin-A, I skipped testing out this product since I do not want to overexfoliate my skin (since my skin is sensitive). This peel retails for $200.00.

Lavelier | Advanced Marine Bio-Syringe: This interesting product is actually not a real syringe, lol! However, it is a fantastic product to use occasionally when you want that extra anti-aging boost and minimization of fine lines. It contains powerhouse ingredients DMAE and hyaluronic acid. The idea is that you apply this directly to your wrinkles and then let your face remain exrpresionless for two minutes. It should work to smooth and hydrate your skin to make your wrinkles look less apparent. I did try this product. However, I honestly do not have anything more than a few fine lines. So, I can't really evaluate what this product will do for wrinkles. This product retails for $995.00. 

Overall, I really enjoyed using Lavelier's luxurious Marine Essentials Collection. I used these products exclusively (along with my Retin-A) for a couple weeks and am happy to share my results. The products worked beautifully and did not irritate my skin. My skin looks refreshed, hydrated, and I believe that my fine lines look diminished as well. 

You may have noticed the price points for these products in the Marine Essentials Collection...they are priced very high. From $175 for a cleanser to $995.00 for the Bio Syringe. While I don't typically spend even near that much for my skincare products, I am sure that there are some people that do. So, if you are willing to pay that much, these are very nice products that I genuinely enjoyed using. While I loved reviewing these products in exchange for my blog review, I will not be repurchasing them as they are personally out of my price range.

It is time for a Rodan + Fields update! I have been exploring a few items from them lately and have to share the love! Two of these products are new-to-me and one is an old favorite. So, lets dive right in!

Rodan + Fields | REDEFINE Acute Care:

These Redefine Acute Care patches are seriously one of my top 5 favorite skincare items of all time. Literally. I love them *that* much! I have honestly never tried anything quite like these eye patches before. They work. Period. The effects I see are somewhat temporary. However, there is no question that I see a huge difference when I use these. Perhaps if these were used consistantly over time, then you would see long-term results as well. It is hard for me to evaluate the long term results since I tend to save these eye patches for use only the night before a special event. 

What is Acute Care? The Acute Care patches apply directly to your trouble spots around your eye area to deliver concentrated anti-wrinkle technology right into your fine lines or wrinkles. They work to plump them up and smooth them out. The product contains a "Liquid Cone Technology" that infuses peptides and hyaluronic acid directly into the skin to target your fine lines or wrinkles. You will see immediate results and possibly long-term results with continued use.

How to Use Acute Care:

Ideally, you should apply these a couple times a week. However, as I mentioned earlier, I tend to reserve these for special occasions or any event where I want my skin really looking its best! 

To use, you apply Acute Care directly to your eye area or targeted trouble spot right after washing your face. It is important that your skin has nothing else on it for the patches to adhere properly. I just stick the patches right outside my eye area where my crows feet expression fine lines are around my eye area. Then I proceed with my usual skincare steps avoiding the patches. When you apply the patches, you just gently press in the patches. You can almost feel the ingredients penetrating your skin like an injection of sorts. You wear these patches overnight. When you first apply, the patches feel somewhat like a band-aid. I try not to get too close to my eye because if I do, the patches really drive me crazy. However, once you have worn them for a few minutes you totally end up forgetting you are wearing them. They are not uncomfortable to sleep in. 

In the morning, simply remove they eye stickers when you wake up. You will immediately notice how plump your skin is underneath the patch! This is not the first time that I have ever tried these awesome Acute Care patches. I got a box a few years ago and totally loved them then, too. Honestly, I would buy these all the time if I could! The price is a bit high. So, if you can afford to use these all the time, then you will really love the results! However, I do like to reserve these for special occasions since they are expensive. These are amazing and I really love them! I would honestly say these are the next best thing to botox. No, they don't freeze your muscles nor skin like botox, but they smooth out the fine lines like no other topical that I have used! Seriously amazing!!! 

Essential Ingredients:

These patches only have two key ingredients: Hyaluronic Acid (a humectant that plumps wrinkles and keeps skin super hydrated) and Sh-Oligopeptide-1 (reduces wrinkles and increases firmness and elasticity).

Rodan + Fields | Active Hydration Serum:
A change of season can bring on skincare change as well. As the air cools, you might need to rehydrate your skin and prepare it for the cold weather with this soothing and hydrating serum.

This serum is packed with awesome ingredients like glycerin, ceramides, silicones, and more. Utilizing Rodan + Fields' widely acclaimed proprietary 3D3P Molecular Matrix Technology, this serum attracts and locks in moisture from the atmosphere to form a hydrating reservoir on the skin’s surface. Rodan + Feilds states that the oil-free serum is clinically tested to raise skin’s hydration level by 200% after just one use. This makes sense given the products ingredients. The 6th ingredient listed is Sodium hyaluronate which is the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid (and hyaluronic acid holds/draws water into the skin). I love the lightweight and non-greasy feel of this serum. I personally love using a humectant like this one right after cleansing and before moisturizing.  I only need about 2 drops of this serum for my entire face. My skin just drinks this in! It hydrates beautifully and really plumps the skin to smooth fine lines.

Rodan and Fields | Enhancements Lash Boost:
Have you guys seen some of the before/after pictures floating around Facebook for this product? I sure have! As someone with naturally skimpy and underwhelming lashes, I was instantly intrigued with this product.

I am no stranger to lash serums. I have tried quite a few including the Rx Latisse. I have seen nice results with many lash serums in the past and currently. So, I was super excited to try Lash Boost by Rodan and Fields to see how it compares.

Lash Boost takes time to work as it works with your lashes' growth cycle. So, results are seen in 4-8 weeks. If you are diligent about applying every night and are patient, you will be very happy! There is no question that this product works and you will get longer and possibly somewhat fuller lashes as well. However, like with all lash serums, it takes time.

Since I have previously used lash serums and the Rx Latisse, I do not have a good "before" picture to share from this product. I typically rotate Latisse with a non-perscription lash serum. I love the results with Latisse, but I do find it to be irritating to the eye area. So, my best results with it are when I rotate it with a non-perscription lash serum. For my testing phase of Lash Boost, I did not use my Latisse at all and just used Lash Boost for 4 weeks. After 4 weeks, I am happy to report that my lashes still are significantly longer and perhaps a wee bit fuller than my natural lashes. I did not seem to lose any length from switching from Latisse to Lash Boost. Also, I seem to get less eye area irritation with Lash Boost rather than Latisse. So, I am very, very happy with the Lash Boost product! It works and I am super pleased. The packging is really nice, too! It is so nice having the brush attached within the product. So, the brush and overall packaging is much, much better than Latisse!

Here are specific instructions from Rodan + Fields on how to apply Lash Boost:
Step 1: Remove makeup and cleanse face with the first step of your Regimen before using Lash Boost. Eyelids and lashes should be completely clean and dry.

Step 2: Apply Rodan + Fields Lash Boost only along the upper lash line of both eyes. Dip the brush once per eye and wipe any excess product off the brush before applying.

Step 3: Gently wipe off any excess serum from your eyelids or lashes. Do not wash your face or eye area after applying.

Step 4: Wait approximately 90 seconds for Rodan + Fields Lash Boost to dry before going to sleep or applying other products around your eye area. Make sure to avoid eyelids and lashes when applying any product to the eye area, including eye cream.

There is no question, some of these products are certainly must-haves in my beauty routine. For me, with my natrually short/skimpy lashes, a lash serum is a must and Lash Boost is fantastic! I highly recommend it to give oomph to your lashes. Is it a beauty necessity? Well, possibly not for some as the price is very high. However, if you have the money to spend and want a great way to really give your overall look a boost, having longer lashes really is a treat! For me, the Acute Care patches are a beauty splurge worth having! Yes, they are pricey. However, in my case, I can really make them last by saving them for special occasions. So, those two Rodan + Fields products are must haves in my book! I love the serum, too! However, the Lash Boost and Acute Care really, really stand out as star products.

My Skin:
Before diving into my review, lets chat a bit more about my skin. My skin is Combination (leaning more towards Combo/Oily) with some dry patches from active treatment products (just started with Rx retinods). My skin is a bit on the sensitive side. So, I am always seeking products that are effective without irritation. I am also somewhat prone to breakouts.

Derma-E Skin Restore Collection: 
This Peptide and Collagen-based skincare collection is designed to help fight the signs. The collection includes a moisturizer, a serum, and an eye cream. Lets chat more about each one! Apparently the moisturizer in this collection used to be named Deep Wrinkle Moisturizer. Well, that product has been improved and reformulated (and renamed). While I have never tried the latter to compare, these new products are winners for me!

Derma-E Advanced Peptides & Collagen Moisturizer:
This hydrating formula is packed with beneficial active ingredients. Lets talk about a few of them! The formula includes Matrixyl synthe’6 (May help support collagen for healthy-looking tone and texture) and Argireline (softens skin and smoothes fine lines). Other actives include Vitamin C and Green Tea for antioxidant protection.

I have done a bit of side research on Matrixyl synthe'6 and I am excited to encorporate it into my skincare as it does seem to really have some benefits!

I really enjoy the non-greasy feel of this moisturizer. It feels like, sinks right in, and leaves my skin feeling soft and plump. Plus, I am so happy that it does not irritate my sometimes sensitive skin.

Derma-E Advanced Peptides & Collagen Serum:
This serum has the same active ingredients as the moisturizer: Matrixyl synthe'6 and Argireline. I like to layer this product on first and then apply the moisturizer on top.

I really enjoy the soothing gel/serum feel of this product. It smooths onto the skin beautifully and sinks in and dries down within a few minutes. I also really like the subtle lavendar scent to the product. I do believe this scent is from lavendar essential oil (as "natural fragrance oils" are included in ingredients).

Derma-E Advanced Peptides & Collagen Eye Cream:
This eye cream works wonderfully to hydrate the eye area in order to smooth out fine lines. Like the other products in this line, this peptide infused cream also contains Matrixyl synth'6 and Argireline.

This eye cream is super gentle on my sensitive skin. It really does sink in nicely and it works to smooth out my fine lines.

So, is the Derma-E Skin Restore Collection "nature's botox"? Well, I can't quite tell you specifically since I have never had botox and do not have any major wrinkles yet. However, I can tell you that these products are fantastic. They are very hydrating and work to smooth out my fine lines. Plus, I trust that the active ingredients really are beneficial for my skin. My Skin:

Before diving into my review, let me tell you a little bit about my skin. I have combination skin that is somewhat sensitive and also somewhat prone to breakouts. While I do not break out often, I do get the occasional zit on my chin or by my nose. I have to be super careful with my skincare so that I do not aggrivate my sensitive skin nor cause breakouts from using products that are too harsh or too rich.  This is tricky as many anti-aging skincare products do contain harsher ingredients and I love the feel of rich creams but can't always use them.

This hydrating toner is an absolute joy to use. I must admit, I am a big fan of toners to begin with. I always spritz one one my hands after washing my face and then I pat it to my face gently with my hands. I feel this is such a great way to get instant hydration back into your skin after washing. Plus, I really enjoy the refreshing feel of applying it. This formula by FarmHouse Fresh works to minimizes pores with its natural fiter effect and also works to boost moisture content. I try to use a Retinol product almost every evening for age prevention. So, I am always curious to try out new Retinols. This Three Milk Ageless Night Cream intrigued me immediately as it promised to be super gentle. This is a good thing when it comes to Retinols and my skin as my skin can get very irritated with Retinol treatment if I am not careful. 

I do, indeed, find this to be a very gentle and easily tolerated Retinol. I am able to use it almost every night without irritation. The key is that this formula is super duper moisturizing. It literally leaves what feels like a film on your skin at night which locks in the hydration and the active ingredients so that they can go to work on your skin over night. I was able to use this formula without irritation. I like how hyrdated and soft my skin feels in the mornings after using this at night. Yes, it does leave a super thick heavy film on your skin. So, that takes getting used to. However, the results are nice. I did get a few clogged pores and minor breakouts initially. However, my skin did seem to overall tolerate this cream. 

Three Milk Ageless Night Cream contains 3 botanical milks (milk thistle, milk vetch, coconut milk), retinol and advanced peptides to firm, hydrate and transform the skin by morning. It uses a time-release delivery system of pure-form retinol for long-term targeted anti-aging benefits. Time release formulas are very beneficial as the time release really helps to minimize irritation.

More About the Ingredients:

• Retinol (vitamin A): wrinkle-smoothing, firming, and improves visible signs of aging; vitamin-enriched coconut milk moisturizes and soothes skin

I got a chance to preview the DDF Youthful Restoration Kit. While I do not have any deep lines and wrinkles, I still think that this kit could work great for me as I do want to hold back the aging clock for as long as possible. I am especially impressed with the Advanced Firming Cream and the Advanced Eye Firming Concentrate from this kit. It seems to have immediate firming results as well as skin smoothing results. Overall this kit is a great value at $89.00 considering the amount of products that you get.

How many times have you heard comments like these or something else along these same lines? I have heard these many times and am always a little taken aback by them. It sounds like a compliment, but is it? While the intent may be positive, are phrases like these truly complimentary? My Skin:

Before diving into my review of the Vine Vera Cabernet High Potency Collection, let me share a little more about my skin type and concerns. I want to give you some background on my skin so that you can understand my frame of refrence and will understand what I seek in my skincare products. 

I have classic combination skin that is somewhat sensitive. I do not break out often. However, if I am not careful with my skincare choices, I do ocassionally break out around my t-zone area. I am in my early 40s. So, I am interested in age prevention. While I do not have any major lines or wrinkles yet, fine lines are a concern. I want to prevent those signs of aging from appearing for as long as possible. I believe in both prevention and treatment. My fine lines are not very noticabel. However, they do tend to crop up more when my skin gets dehydrated around my eyes and ever-so-slightly around my mouth. I am looking for great anti-aging products that are proven effective. Yet, I want products that do not aggrivate my sensitive skin nor break me out. I tend to pay close attention to ingredients when trying out new skincare.
