Can you believe that it is already time to start getting your Fall Wardrobe together?!?! I know, it is always hard to think Fall and boots in August (especially in hot/humid Georgia)! However, Fall is literally right around the corner. So, it is time to get shopping!

My wardrobe has a twist this Fall season...maternity wear! I am just at the beginning of my 2nd trimester and am slowly making the shift to maternity clothes. I am currently wearing some maternity pieces mixed in with looser fitting regular clothes. For the most part, I am going to keep my maternity outfits comfortable and casual to fit my lifestyle as a stay-at-home Mom. No one wants to spend a lot on maternity wear. So, I am going to amp up my outfits with cute accessories and shoes! JustFab to the rescue (of my maternity wardrobe)!

What is JustFab?
JustFab is an online fashion site and styling service. They offer trendy and affordable shoes, handbags, jewelry, jeans, and accessories to subscribers (called VIP members). When you sign up to become a VIP member,  you take a style quiz. Then JustFab pairs you with a stylist who creates a personalized online boutique for you to shop from. Everything on the site is $39.95!!! You will be charged a monthly fee (unless you elect to "skip a month" then you won't be charged) which gives you credit for one item. So, that is one monthly fee for one item (not an item plus an additional fee). Of course, you could always purchase more than one item a month. They seem to have a lot of 2 for/ $39.95 deals, too. So, you can almost always find a good sale!

LUSH Store Tour and Discovering the Best LUSH Products for Pregnancy Pampering!

Are you looking for a fun shopping experience? Do you have a LUSH store or a LUSH department (in a Macy's) near you? I highly recommend stopping into your nearest LUSH location to experience all that the store has to offer! Recently, I toured the LUSH "Mall of Georgia" store location. What a fun experience! Not only was that particular trip fun, but also I should mention that I enjoy exploring LUSH products every time I step into a LUSH store or LUSH store department.

For my LUSH store tour, I had one purpose in mind: Pregnancy Pampering!!! As many of you know, pregnancy can be flat out exhausting.Your legs are aching, your skin is stretching, your skin type and hair type may have changed, and you basically can just feel achy, bloated, and tired. Plus, you can't use many of your usual standbys for oily skin and breakouts (no benzol peroxide nor retinol while pregnant) and body aches (Advil is another no-no). Whenever I complain to my OB about fatigue and aches...what does he recommend??? A bath!!! So, what is a girl to do? Me? I headed right to my very favorite bath and body store...LUSH!

So, I basically got the "pregnancy tour"! :) The LUSH Mall of Georgia's Curtis gave me a really fabulous tour and experience. There is no question that he is not only knowledgeable, but also passionate about LUSH products! His enthusiasm was contagious and I had a lot of fun discovering all that LUSH had to offer a tired preggie like me. :)

While I heard about and smelled items in almost all of the stores categories, I am going to focus a bit more on the items that I ended up taking home (otherwise this post would be WAY too long, lol!). There is no question. When it comes to beauty pampering, LUSH has you totally covered!

It is time for another Makeup War! This time the Makeup Wars bloggers are sharing their favorite tools for hair styling!

What are the Makeup Wars?
Before sharing my choices for hair tools, let me tell you a little bit about Makeup Wars in general. The Makeup Wars Bloggers are a group of top beauty bloggers that publish coordinated bi-weekly posts. The Makeup Wars bloggers collectively pick topics to blog about (e.g., Top 10 Products, Beauty Pampering, etc). Then, we publish our posts at precisely the same time and link up through the graphic links and thumbnails at the top and bottom of our posts. It is always a big surprise to scroll through the links from the group to see what everyone picked! 

In my hair care routine, I rarely stray from my basic styling tools. Once I find something that works, I stick with it! With that said, I do like to discover new tools. If I read about a fabulous tool that someone else is using with my same hair length and type, I tend to try it out. Then, if I like that tool, I will add it to my routine or replace another tool with it.

My Hair:
My hair is super long and somewhat hard to manage. It is highlighted. So, it is dry and it tangles very easily. Plus, it is very thick and somewhat coarse. It is primarily straight. However, ever since my first pregnancy a couple years ago, I have some random wavy patches. Typically, I wash it every other day. When I wash it, I let it air dry about 50%. Then I blow dry with a paddle brush and then a large round brush to work the waves out. On occasion, I curl it with a wand or use a straightener to get it super sleek. Also, I like to use wet-sets to create no-heat curls. However, I will not include these no-heat tools in this post. If you all would like, I could do a no-heat series next? Let me know! :)

My Shades:

I got to select 2 shades from the SinfulShine range. Honestly, it was so hard to choose! Almost all of the colors appealed to me! Since it is late Summer, I opted for some bright/fun colors: VIP (a creamy and bright hot pink) and Rendezvous (a soft light green/blue teal). These are such fun colors! I really love wearing them!!! :)

I just love the look of these polishes! The application is indeed very smooth. I needed about 2 coats for full coverage. These polishes do look super shiny and I achieved average wear (Generally, any polish chips on me after about 3-4 days. So, I consider that to be "average wear").

I totally recommend checking out SinfulColors SinfulShine polishes next time you are at Walgreens. For only $2.99 a bottle, you can stock up on a few fun colors without breaking the bank! :)

Feel Fabulously Fresh: Freshen-Up Tips with Summer's Eve: Plus a Giveaway!!!

There are certain times throughout the day that I love to freshen up a bit. Busy day-to-day schedules packed with swimming lessons, play dates, errands, house cleaning, grocery shopping, etc. often leave me feeling like I need to take an extra shower! Not to mention the heat and humidity of the Summer in Georgia! When I have the time, I do love an extra "rinse off" shower. However, it is hard to squeeze in a shower (let alone an extra shower) when you are taking care of a toddler. Sometimes you just need to get creative! Personally, I hate that "icky" feeling that you get when you feel like you need a shower...yet, you don't have the time to take one. So, what is a girl to do? 

 

Feel Fresh Throughout the Day: Ideas and Tips! 

Let's talk about ideas for freshening up throughout the day! I have discovered a few tips and tricks over the years. There are certainly ways that you can freshen up quickly: either with a quickie wash-up or without!

• Body Splash: When in need of some minor freshening, body mist is the perfect solution! While perfume is too heavy to reapply throughout the day, body splash is light enough to mist on whenever you need it! I always keep a small bottle of body splash in my handbag. It is super easy to spritz on body splash while on the go.

• Wipes and Cleansing Cloths: Sometimes a quick misting of body splash just doesn't cut it: you need real cleansing yet you can't actually shower or wash up at a sink. There are certainly times when you need cleansing during the day but can't literally wash up with water. Cleansing wipes are the perfect solution! I like carrying a variety of individually packaged wipes with me: anti-bacterial hand wipes (for before and after eating), baby wipes (for my toddler), and Summer's Eve personal (for gentle cleansing of your personal areas).

• Sink Wash-Up: When I need some targeted freshening up after working out, swimming, or spending the day outdoors in the heat, a sink wash-up is exactly what I need! A full shower is often too time consuming for mid-day (especially if you are only looking to cleanse some "key areas"). So, a quick washing of underarms and/or your personal areas might be all you need! Since I don't want to use the anti-bacterial hand soap that is typically at the sink, I often reach for a gentle soap or my Summer's Eve Cleansing Wash for this task.

• The Quickie Shower: There are certainly times when you need a super quick full-body cleansing. I have mastered the art of jumping into the shower for less than 5 minutes. I just throw my hair into a pony tail and don a shower cap. Then I jump in the shower for just long enough to cleanse my body. I pay careful attention to not get my face wet (who has time to redo their makeup?). I just wet my body and give it a once-over with body wash or gentle soap. The only downside to the quickie shower is that you also have the additional step of moisturizing your whole body afterwards. So, it is certainly not as quick as the steps mentioned above.

I got to test out two products from Summer's Eve in their most popular "Island Splash" scent. Both of these items were great additions to my daily "freshen up" routine! I have sensitive skin all over my body, and I always have to be very particular with my choices for bar soap and body wash. I need products that cleanse gently, yet are also effective enough to eliminate odor causing bacteria. Summer's Eve accomplishes complete cleansing that is also very gentle! This is exactly what you need when washing those delicate areas!!!

 

Island Splash Cleansing Wash:

There is no question that this leaves me feeling fresh and clean in my delicate areas. Plus, it doesn't irritate my sensitive skin. Island Splash Cleansing Cloths:
Cleansing Cloths are the perfect solution for on-the go freshening! Unlike other cleansing wipes, these from Summer's Eve are alcohol-free and are gentle enough for your most sensitive personal areas. Honestly, I wouldn't trust any other cleansing wipe for my personal area cleansing. There were specifically made for that purpose! I like to keep the individually wrapped cleansing cloths with me at all times (right in my purse, car, and diaper bag). Nivea Escape Challenge: Nivea's Frangipani Shower Gel, 1-800 Flowers, and Havaianas (Review and Giveaway!)

As many of you know, I just moved into a new house a couple weeks ago. What better time to transform my new bathroom into my own little "escape"! With the hectic schedule of selling our house and the move, we didn't get a true vacation this summer. So, I am just going to have to settle for turning my bathroom into my own little paradise escape! :) 

Nivea Escape Challenge: 

Nivea set up a great challenge! Nivea sent a fabulous package for my challenge complete with Nivea's new Touch of Frangipani Shower Gel, Havaianas flip flops, and a $50 1-800 Flowers Gift Card! The goal was for me to transform my shower for 2 weeks with these items and track how my skin looks and feels. Not only was it fun for me to participate, but guess what...you readers are going to have a chance to win your very own Nivea Escape Challenge Kit!!! 

My Bathroom Transformation: My Own Little Escape!

To transform my bathroom into my own little mini vacation, I added the Touch of Frangipani Shower Gel to my shower (pictured here on my tub) and my 1-800 Flowers arrangement to the side of my tub. While I don't wear my Havaianas in the shower, I wear them throughout the day! An easy pair of flip flops are just perfect for summer!!! :)

My Experience with Nivea's Touch of Frangipani:

The goal was to use this shower gel for 2 weeks to transform your skin. I must say, consistent use of this shower gel certainly has left me feeling soft and smooth! I find the scent to be so refreshing!!! To me, it is a floral-like scent with a hint of fruit. It is not an overwhelming floral, It is a floral that not only do I like, but my husband likes to use it, too! So, it is certainly not too "girly". The scent is just very "clean". My whole bathroom smells good when I use this! I just add a bit to my body pouf and create fabulous lather for all over my body. Love it!!!

1-800 Flowers Potted Plant:

It was so hard to decide upon which beautiful arrangement to choose!!! I literally kept going back-and-forth between about 6 of my favorites from their website. Finally, I decided upon using my 1-800 Flowers $50 Gift Card to order a gorgeous potted Hydrangea plant. I opted for a potted plant as it will last for as long as you take care of it! Once it gets big enough, I plan on transplanting this beautiful floral bush in my backyard. The blossoms are white and purple and are just beautiful! Hydrangeas have long been one of my favorite plants. Plus, they really grow big and beautiful here in Georgia! Also, what really swayed me to choose this arrangement was the gorgeous mosaic pot. I was so happy to discover that it is even more beautiful when you see it in person! I am thrilled with my little potted Hydrangea! :)

Havaianas Flip Flops:

Flip-flops are my go-to shoes of Summer! So, I am just thrilled to add another pair to my assortment!!! :) Havaianas are just total classics. Honestly, I think that everyone should have at least one pair of these classic flops. ;) They are so comfortable!!! Plus, I love the gold color. They go with everything!
