Let's talk about the fantastic NEW CC+ Cream Oil-Free Matte SPF 40! 

As a long-time fan of IT Cosmetics, I am always excited to try their new releases. Their CC+ Creams are amazing. They have excellent formulas, skin-loving anti-aging ingredients, plus SPF protection. So, when I found out that they have a new Matte version of a product that I already love, I was super excited to try it out. Now you have 3 versions to pick from if you want a good CC Cream! 

The IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream Oil-Free Matte SPF 40 gives you buildable full-coverage natural to matte finish (I dont find it to be totally matte...more of a natural/matte finish)  that looks natural and flawless. Plus, the formula can help control oil and gives you a beautiful look! 

Now, my skin is not oily, however it is combination with some oily patches around my nose and chin area. So, I can't fully evaluate how this product wears on oily skin. However, I got nice long wear on my skin. 

I tried this in the shades Fair and Fair-Light. Fair was the best match for my super light skin tone. It is still ever-so-slightly too dark. However, I can make it work with a light dusting of powder to set my look. I feel that I got good coverage and the product lasted on my skin.

Don't you just love the idea of a product that works for you while you sleep? I suffer from chronic dry lips. My lips are in constant need of moisture. Plus, the health of my lips really depends on what I apply before bed. I am a mouth breather. So, my lips can get very dried out as I sleep at night. 

Buttermask for Lips is an intensive overnight mask for your lips. This mask repairs your moisture barrier and soothes your lips with nourishing ingredients. Buttermask is infused with Fairly Traded Coconut Oil and Wild Mango Butter, this nourishing overnight treatment for dry lips smoothes and softens your lips while you sleep.

I really love the results that I get with this product and I honestly just enjoy using it. I keep it right by my clock on my nightstand so that I remember to apply it every night right before I go to sleep. I adore it!

This product retails for $24.00. While the price is a bit high for a lip treatment, I think it is totally work it as the product delivers fantastic results and it only takes a little bit of product to treat your lips. 

Glow Formula Skin Hydrator:

This is a glowy radiance-boosting skin moisturizer. This product is unique! It is somewhere between a tintied moisturizer and a bronzing liquid highlighter. It honestly is a multi-tasker as it provides a sheer tint, a bit of luminosity, and a dose of moisture to your skin. I don't use this as a stand alone product, but use it more as a mix-in to boost products already in my routine. 

The Glow Formula Skin Hydrator does more than just hydrate! It is infused with Pomegranate Extract (Pomegranate is a powerful superfood which is rich in antioxidants). Pomegranate has been shown to help improve skin texture and quality. The Glow Formula Skin Hydrator also includes skin illuminating minerals which help to reflect light and boost luminosity. 

How I use this product:

I mix about a pump's worth into my moisturizer and apply during my morning skincare routine. This is the step that I do before applying my tinted sunscreen. As ya'll may know, I do prefer more of a natural look for everyday. So, I just wash my face, apply this product mixed with my moisturizer, then apply my tinted sunscreen, then proceed with makeup. When I do this, I find that I can skip foundation. I normally use a dusting of powder foundation. However, when I use this product. I like to skip the foundation and just opt for a light dusting of a translucent powder instead to set my look. 

This is honestly my new favorite product and something that I really enjoy applying! While the effect is subtle, I think it makes a difference in the look of my skin. Plus, I know that the antioxidant protection works over time preventatively. I really love using the Glow Formula Skin Hydrator!

I *love* using hydration sprays immediately after cleansing my face to give myself a boost of moisture. So, I was super excited to try out one from Jane Iredale.

Jane Iredale offters 3 different hydration spray formulas: POMMISST, Balance, and D2O. These  hydration sprays each refresh and hydrate skin. In addition, they can conceal pores and fine lines when you use them as a quick setting mist after mineral makeup application for a smooth finish and long lasting hold.  They may also be used as moisturizers for oily skin (this is how I use them: immediately after cleansing for a moisture boost) or to wet makeup brushes and create precise lines.  

I got to try out the D20 Hydration Spray:

Jane iredale D2O Hydration Spray is a facial spritz based on Ylang Ylang that helps to hydrate, calm and protect the skin. The ylang ylang leaves an uplifting scent and has a balancing action on the secretion of sebum. It can be used to:

• Set minerals for a long lasting, smooth finish

• Soothe post-laser

• Wet makeup brushes to turn powder eye shadows into eyeliner

I also had the chance to try out Jane Iredale's Glow Time Full Coverage Mineral BB Cream in the shade bb1. I really enjoy using BB Creams as they are such great multi-taskers: they function as a facial moisturizer, sunscreen, and coverage in one!

Healthy Skin is Always In!
I am really loving this Powder SPF! I am all about daily SPF use. However, I must admit that unless I am at the pool, lake, or beach, I do not reapply during the day. I find that this powder really is the answer to this. Rather than touching up with my usual pressed or loose powder, I am now using Jane Iredale's Powder-Me SPF Dry Sunscreen! It gives me a boost of SLF and a little bit of coverage.

Natural Everyday Makeup with Burt's Bees: NEW BB Cream and Lipstick

The transition to the warm days of Spring and Summer has finally happened! With the shift to warmer days and relaxed and casual activities, my makeup needs a shift, too! While I usually do go with a rather natural look, I really lighten up and simplify even more when the weather gets warm. Summer days were meant for fuss-free makeup. 

Burt's Bees has some fantastic new products for fuss-free Summer makeup looks! I am especially loving their brand NEW BB Cream and their new Lipsticks!

Burt's Bees Lipsticks:

OMG! I am loving these new lipsticks from Burt's Bees. Specifically, I am adoring the shade #510 Iced Iris. It is such a beautiful and natural soft rose pink. It gives my lips lovely shine and moisture plus lovely pink color. These lipsticks are 100% natural and packed with moisturizing ingredients like Moringa Oil, Raspberry Seed Oil ,and Beeswax. The formula is very conditioning and gives you such a smooth satin finish. They have 14 shades. I need to try more! ;) 

Burt's Bees BB Cream:

OMG! This BB Cream is my new favorite!!! I absolutely adore the sheer and natural coverage. I would say the coverage is in-between a tinted moisturizer and a foundation. It is 98.9% natural and has SPF 15 protection. I wear the shade Light which actually works really well with my super fair skin. It lightly hydrates and smooths my skin while giving natural and sheer coverage. It gives me just enough to make my skin look better and disguise redness. Plus, it does not break me out and it boosts my SPF coverage and moisture. Plus, I love how light and fresh it feels on my skin. This is my new favorite BB Cream!!!

Glowing and Natural Skin with Neutrogena's Visibly Even BB Cream

Neutrogena's NEW Visibly Even BB Cream:

I have been all about face products lately! My overall look in the Summer is light makeup and a natural look. So, my focus really is on great skin. BB Creams are, in my opinion, the easiest way to achieve this. A good BB Cream, like this one from Neutrogena, plus a light dusting of powder is all I need to get naturally pretty glowing skin! 

I tried out Neutrogena's Visibly Even BB Cream in the shade fair to light. I am somewhat surprised to find out that this product comes in only 2 shades. For reference, my skin is extremely fair and almost porcelain. Sometimes even the lightest shades of foundation in any given line are too dark for me. So, when I first saw this product coming out of the tube, I thought it would be too dark for me. Well, somehow, when I work it into my skin, it magically works! So, I am thrilled that the "fair to light" shade works for me! It is possible that my skin is just a hint darker than usual as it is the end of Summer and despite my sunscreen application and shade-loving ways, I probably do have a hint of color from the sun. So, don't let the limited shade selection dissuade you, the product is sheer enough that the colors are forgiving.

The product itself is quite scented. While I would prefer the BB Cream to be unscented, this fresh and somewhat sunscreen-like scent does not bother me. While this BB Cream is thick in consistency, it is light in feel on the skin. This sheer formula gives light coverage. However, the optical diffusers in the formula really do work well to blur imperfections and give you a slight glow. Plus, the formula contains an SPF of 30 (love that!) and "essential soy" to reduce blotchiness and discolorations.

How I Use:

I use this product after my morning skincare routine and as the first step in my makeup routine. I, personally, wear my daily moisturizer with sunscreen under this. So, I consider this BB Cream to be a boost to my regular sunscreen. Also, I feel that my combo skin needs more moisture than this BB Cream provides alone. I like to top this BB Cream with a light dusting of sheer powder. I think the finish is a bit too luminous for me without the addition of the powder. When I am finished setting this BB Cream, the overall result is beautiful skin! I just love wearing this product!!!

Overall, I like Neutrogena's Visibly Even BB Cream for it's skin perfecting and priming results. It really does blur discolorations on my skin and give me healthy and glowy skin. Plus, I think that the formula gives such a natural look!

It seems as if everything is marketed as a "BB" Cream these days. I mean, why wouldn't you want to pack skin loving BB Cream-type ingredients into your cosmetics! Right?!?! ;) I know that I personally love the idea of getting a skincare boost from applying my usual face cosmetics. 

So, of course I was excited to try out this gorgeous BB+ Plus Illumination Facial Cream from Gerard Cosmetics. Little did I know that I would totally fall in love with it! It is amazing!!! I mean, I feel that I am a "hard sell" with illuminizers. As much as I love my makeup products, I only have a few highlighters in my collection that are truly near and dear to my heart. I can now count this one as one of those few!

Makeup Wars: Favorite Foundations

It is time for another Makeup War! This time the Makeup Wars bloggers are sharing their favorite foundations! 

My Skin:

Just for reference, lets talk about my skin! I always like to know a product reviewer's skintone and skin type. I am extremely fair and have sensitive skin. Many makeup lines (especially drugstore) do not have shades light enough for me. Often, in the lines that do go light enough, I am the very lightest shade. My tone is neutral-cool, sometimes a cool tone is the best match and sometimes neutral works better. It just depends. I admit, it is hard to match skintone! Often I think something matches, and then I take it home, and realize it doesn't. There is so much trial and error here. I find that the true test is looking at your foundation in natural light and checking it against your neck and jawline. My go-to blogger for foundation recommendations? The fabuous Phyrra! I find that I often wear the same shade as her or close to the same shade.

Foundation is an essential part of my Makeup Routine. I will fully admit that for everyday, I often opt for just a light dusting of my favorite powder foundation: MAC's Studio Fix in NC 15. However, when I have more time, or just really want to perfect my skin, I use a liquid foundation or a heavier-coverage BB Cream. My go-to BB Cream these days? Clinique's Age Defense BB Cream in Shade #01. My current favorite liquid foundation? Urban Decay's Naked Skin in Shade # 0.5. It looks so natural, the color match is fabulous, and it just makes my skin look great! In addition to these listed above, there are many other foundations that I love! Here are all of the ones that I am currently loving and always reaching for! What I pick to wear on a particular day just depends on the type of finish and coverage I am looking for. :)

Foundation in Summer???

Do you wear foundation in Summertime? Me? Not usually. I really go much lighter with my makeup overall for Summer. Typically, I skip foundation and just stick to some concealer and a little bit of powder. However, when I do wear foundation in the Summer, I totally go for different foundations than I do in the colder months. My skin's needs change seasonally. Therefore, my foundation requirements change as well! My skin is much more oily in the Summer. Plus, I prefer to wear foundations with a lighter look and feel in the Summer.

The Foundation Fairy: Omorovicza Complexion Perfector BB Cream SPF 20

My search for flattering foundations for Fair Skin continues with this review for Omorovicza's Complexion Perfector BB (Cream) SPF 20! Y'all know that BB Creams are all the rage these days. Since BB Creams essentially act as a super-powered foundation, I am going to feature my BB Cream reviews in my ongoing Foundation Fairy series.
