Newly Designed for 2012: Wet n' Wild Megalast Nail Color: And Dollhouse Pink Lipstick (MAC dupe?!)

Hello girls!

Wet n' Wild continues to expand their impressive nail polish selection. For just $1.99 per polish, Wet n' Wild really can't be beat. I am excited about these new Megalast Nail Colors (which are available at Walgreen's). Megalast Nail Polish is not new to Wet n' Wild. It is a makeover of the previous incarnation. There are new bottles and a cool new brush shape (more on that below).

Also, I couldn't resist picking up the lippie in #967 Dollhouse Pink as it is an apparent dupe for MAC's Viva Glam Gaga. (edited: per Turtle Beauty, Dollhouse pink is NOT a dupe for Viva Glam Gaga...oh well! Still a very pretty color).  The lippies are on the same end-cap type display as the polish. The lip color is great: a vibrant bright cool toned barbie pink. Love! Its super-duper pigmented and long-wearing. But, it is a bit drying.

Here are the nail color shades that I picked up (it was so hard to choose!): #218A "I Need a Refresh-Mint", #208B "Through the Grapevine", and #213C "On a Trip".

Bella Pierre Cosmetics: Compact Mineral Blush in Desert Rose

Hey there my readers! Many of ya'll know that I have a penchant for blush. It is the the makeup item that I just can't resist. A great blush always perks me! I tend to gravitate towards peaches and pinks so this blush is just right up my alley.

This review is for Bella Pierre Cosmetics's Compact Mineral Blush in Desert Rose. Bella Pierre is a mineral foundation line from SFRbeauty.com that I have been exploring lately.

As much as I do enjoy using mineral makeup. I must admit that loose powder pigments are not my favorite. I much prefer a pressed powder. So, I was thrilled to discover this mineral blush in a pressed pan compact form! You get the benefits of a mineral powder without the mess. This product at-a-glance really reminds me of Pur Minerals. The mineral scent of the product and the texture of the powder are very Pur Minerals-esque. If you like Pur Minerals, then you might want to check out the Bella Pierre brand too.

Giveaway: A Beauty giftbag from ABC's new show GCB!

Hello there my lovely readers!

I am excited to be posting a new giveaway for ya'll! ABC contacted me to host this Giveaway in honor of the premiere of their new show, GCB on Sunday March 4th at 10/9c on ABC. They would like you to "Texify yourself with a GCB Beauty Kit" (as in Texas, not texting, lol...it took me a minute).

Have you heard of this show or seen previews? It looks cute and right up my alley! It stars Leslie Bibb, Kristin Chenoweth, Annie Potts, Jennifer Aspen, and Miriam Shor. Kristin Chenoweth is hilarious (I loved her in "Four Christmases"). So, I will for sure check this show out! I am a big fan of chick-flick type movies and this show seems to be in that genre.

Here are the show details from ABC:
Twenty years ago, Amanda Vaughn was the queen bee of Dallas, Texas. Now she's back, and it's payback for being an original mean girl. Will the good women of her hometown welcome her with open arms, or preach the golden rule while stabbing her in the back? Everythings bigger in Texas...even the drama

Check out the preview:

Don't miss out on the show's premiere on Sunday, March 4th 10/9c on ABC!!!

For details on the giveaway, prize information, and the entry form...please keep reading after the page break!

Be a Bombshell Cosmetics: Cute stuff, great price! (discount code for my readers!)

Hey Lovelies!

I have been meaning to post about this cute "surprise" package that I got in the mail a couple months ago! I was totally planning on writing about this sooner. But, alas, having a baby and my blog maternity leave threw me all off schedule! Okay, sorry, I digress! Back to business...

Be A Bombshell Cosmetics sent me a fun little bag of makeup goodies. It came nicely packed in a cute box. I was already intrigued just opening it!

I'm wondering, "Hmm, is this a new monthly beauty sample service?". The answer, no. But, Be a Bombshell does offer personalized suggestions and deals emailed right to you every month if you fill out a beauty profile. The best part, there is no obligation to buy! You can just choose what you want and order or pass. Products end up being about $10 each: 2 products for $19.95, 3 products for $29.95, etc. I have not placed and order from them yet. But, this seems to be the deal. Sounds good! But, the true question is...are these products any good?

Shielo Hair Care

Hello Lovelies!

I love having blonde hair. But, lets face it...keeping blond/highlighted hair looking good takes work (and good products)! I need shampoos, conditioners, and treatment products that soften, prevent damage, reduce frizz, add protein and/or moisture, and keep hair looking shiny. Whew! That's a tall order. It almost seems that most shampoos/conditioners/treatment products that I test out don't work for me (and never "make it" to be reviewed, ya'll know that I mostly like to write reviews about products that worked for me). So, I am always pleased-as-punch to find products that work!

My most recent discovery is Shielo Hair Care. Not only am I happy with the quality of the products, but I am also pleased to discover that the line is cruelty-free, sustainable, and made in the USA.

The brand has 5 lines depending on your hair type: Volume, Color Protect, Hydrate, Antioxidant, and Anti-Aging. Given my hair condition (dry and highlighted), I tested out the Hydrate Shampoo and Conditioner and the Antioxidant Leave-In Antioxidant Protectant. But, the Color Protect line could have also worked for my hair.

New to MyGlam: My First Glam Bag February 2012

Well. ya'll know how much I love my monthly Birchbox beauty sample subscription. So, when I came across MyGlam's version: the Glam Bag, you know I just had to give it a try!

The Skinny on MyGlam:
The concept with MyGlam is very similar to Birchbox. You pay $10 per month for a cosmetic bag aka "the Glam Bag" filled with 4-5 delux sized beauty samples. The MyGlam site has tutorial videos featuring products from the Glam Bag. When you sign up, you take a beauty profile quiz. But, it dosn't seem that the bags are customized from your beauty profile. Everyone gets the same bag each month. You can also upload your own videos on the MyGlam site to feature yourself using your bag.

Do I really need 2 sample subscriptions? Probably not, but I have been so happy with Birchbox that I just wanted to give MyGlam a shot too! Especially after hearing some of the previous month's hyped bags with full-sized "samples". When I went to sign up a couple months ago, I got wait listed. This only increased my anticipation! Another factor influencing my decision: MyGlam was founded by some popular YouTube Beauty "Gurus" (lol, that terminology totally bugs me). So, I felt joining was "supporting the beauty community" on YouTube! You know, I have to give these girls props for making a career out of beauty!

To see my February 2012 Glam Bag opening and hear my first impressions (including comparisons to Birchbox), please keep reading after the jump.

Just Joined JewelMint: Invitation for you!

Hey Dolls!

I know I might be "late to the party" here. But, I just joined JewelMint! I am so excited!!! I just placed my first order.

What is JewelMint? It is Kate Bosworth's jewelry line featured in a "monthly club" format. When you join you complete a style profile. The site generates selections based on your style preferences. Each month you can purchase one credit. One credit = one piece of jewelry. Pieces are all $29.99. But, keep track of your emails as JewelMint frequently emails 50-75% off codes. The jewelry looks fantastic! While I have not gotten my piece yet, the jewelry line in general gets fabulous reviews for quailty. Even though this club is "monthly", there is no obligation to buy and you can always skip the month if you don't feel like purchasing. All the jewelry is guaranteed...plus free shipping. Plus, you can earn credits for inviting friends.

It was hard to choose! So many cute things! Here are the earrings that I ordered:

Here is my link to join: http://jmnt.me/t9x6ff

Any JewelMint members out there? How do you like your jewelry? I am excited to get my first order!

Have a great Saturday Ya'll!
XOXO!

As a huge fan of the Happy Booster line of products from Physican's Formula, I am *totally thrilled* that they came out with new offerings just in time for V-day! The cute products really do put a smile on my face.

Many of the Happy Booster products that came out last year have become my favorite products or daily staples. Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen: Taster Trio

Do you love the look of liquid liner but love the ease of a pencil? Well, then these liners from Pixi might just be for you! There were so many cosmetics value sets released around the holidays. This set is for sure one of my faves!

Pencils are just so easy to use in general. But, when you combine the pencil ease with a lovely creamy gel-like formula application truly becomes a breeze.

Ever since I tried Urban Decay's 24/7 liners, I have been totally spoiled. You can get the look of liquid today in a pencil form! These Endless Silky Eye Pens by Pixi are very, very similar to Urban Decay's 24/7 liners at a more reasonable price. Plus, this limited edition 3-pack "Taster Trio" gives you an even better deal!

So, what's the skinny on this trio set?

Feb 2012 Birchbox Preview: All About Stickers! Violent Lips and Eye Rock Liner

Hello lovelies! I have a little Birchbox preview for you today! Thats right! Birchbox sent me a few items to give ya'll a sneak-peek of what will be inside your Feb Birchboxes!!! Now, don't quote me...I don't know if everyone will be getting these in your Birchbox as the boxes do vary a bit. But, you might!

What is Birchbox? It is a monthly beauty sample service. You get deluxe sized beauty samples beautifully wrapped in a gift box with lots of beauty tips and product info for only $10 per month. I won't go into more detail as you can check out my previous monthly Birchbox Openings and my Birchbox Intro to find out more! :) I am a huge fan of Birchbox. Its just a lot of fun to open the box every month and sample new products.

Sticker-shock:
Hmm...I sense a theme here with the upcoming box...makeup stickers! Sounds hokey, right? I'll admit it. When I opened up my package and saw the products, I thought "gimmick". Makeup stickers??? These can't be comfortable to wear? How can they last? Or look natural? Well ladies, natural is not the idea here with these. These are *bold* products meant for "fun" wear. Most women just don't go for glitter lips and wild liner everyday. But for fun occasions...maybee!?!?
