I just love spa night at home! I try to give myself, at the minimum, a weekly spa treatment to pamper myself at home. My recent discovery and new love? Parasilk treatments. They are so easy and so luxurious to use!

I am no stranger to paraffin treatments. I love getting paraffin treatments at the nail salon combined with my manincures and as an extra add-on treatment when I am at a spa. Paraffin treatments are both theraputic and restorative. The heat and the moisture works wonders for dry skin as well as body aches and pains. I first discovered the theraputic benefits of paraffin treatments after my Rheumatologist recommened that I do them to aid with dry skin and aches that occasionally occur with my autoimmune disease. I like paraffin treatments so much that I even have an in-home paraffin melting machine....but, guess what, as much as I love the effects of the treatment, I never seem to pull it out to use it. It is just a lot of work and clean up, etc. So, when I heard about these easy-to-use and disposable treatments from Parasilk, I just had to try them!

About Parasilk Treatments:
GLOVE Treat by Parasilk Paraffin are the first ever at-home disposable paraffin wax treatments. They are designed to be used once a week for an amazing at-home spa experience!

Parasilk offers all natural paraffin wax combined with coconut and lavendar essential oils in a glove, mitt, or boot treatment. These are amazing and so easy to use! You just heat up the mitts in the microwave from about 2-3 minutes, slip on the mitt on your hands or feet, and then relax while the treatment does its magic!

How to Use:
1. Remove: Remove plush loop from Mitt
2. Heat: Place treatment in microwave (wrapped in paper towel) for 60 seconds, check and flip and microwave another 60 seconds. If melted and indicator is red, remove, if not, go another 60 seconds.
3. Rub: Carry carefully to prevent spilling and massage it gently to distribute and melt.
4. Treat: Once indicator is not red and liquid is not clear, it is safe to apply. Open above the zipper. Lay down a cloth towel and apply over the towel for spillage. Make sure it is upright to help prevent spilling. Secure loop around treatment.
5. Relax: This is the best part! Just leave on about 10 minutes and relax and try to remain stationary. Remove the treatment and any remaining wax from your skin.
6. Reuse: After treatment, press air out of mitt and seal zipper, fold, and place back into sealed pouch. One pair is reusable for 4 treatments! Complete using treatment in one month. Unopened pouches are good for 2 years.

I just love these treatments! They are super easy to use and I get great benefits from them. Right now, I am especially loving the Foot Treatment as my feet have been very dry and cracked from wearing flip flops all summer. I am hoping that weekly treatments with this boot will remedy my dry feet.

Finding The Best Car Insurance in Georgia Is Full of Surprises...

Trying to find the best car insurance can be a trial. We all know the big car insurance brands: State Farm, Geico, Progressive, Allstate — but after browsing those sites, I’m never sure if I’m actually getting the best deals. So this time I used Clearsurance, and what I found totally caught me by surprise. All those household brands we see advertised so often? They aren’t ranked very highly. Clearsurance, a website that collects reviews from people about their insurance company, uses the data it gathers to create unbiased rankings of car insurance companies, both by state and nationally, for 2018. The detailed breakdown helps you compare companies and find coverage that’s actually the best deal for your location and driving history. 

Once I got over my surprise, I decided to see what companies other consumers ranked as thebest car insurance options in Georgia, and if my car insurer was rated highly by other consumers. I didn’t even recognize some of the companies that ranked ahead of the giants in car insurance, including my own insurer.

For instance, Amica Mutual, which offers a home ownership discount, was founded in 1907 and ranks as the third best company in all of Georgia. Amica Mutual’s 4.46 rating out of 5 on Clearsurance is significantly higher than that of Progressive (4.16) and Allstate (4.1).

Take a look at what companies are ranked as the top 5 car insurers in Georgia on Clearsurance:

1.    USAA— 4.68

2.    California Casualty Group— 4.47

3.    Amica Mutual Insurance Company— 4.46

4.    American National Property & Casualty Company— 4.43

5.    Georgia Farm Bureau Insurance — 4.39

These aren’t the names we typically associate with car insurance. So why are these brands so much better than the big companies we all know? Clearsurance has tons of great information to help you navigate your car insurancecoverage, and one of the things I discovered is that companies like Geico and Allstate spend billions of dollars a year on advertisements to become the names we think of when it’s time to buy car insurance or consider switching car insurance. But those advertising dollars have come to from somewhere, and it ends up driving up the cost of our insurance premiums. 

Why should we be paying more to insure our cars so that our insurer can solicit new business?

For the most part, the companies rated highly in Georgia are lesser known than the big names. But the bottom line is, they’re better. These are the companies that other policyholders have found offer fair prices with good customer service and claims handling.

Still, we’re not all eligible for these top insurers, and we don’t all have the same insurance needs. That’s something else Clearsurance understandsand helps you navigate. For example, USAA is the best car insurance company for Georgians, but it only serves active and former military members and their families. And at a company like Georgia Farm Bureau Insurance, you can get discounts such as accident forgiveness, which could be a good option if you’ve had multiple claims. Plus, not all car insurance companies cover high-risk drivers, so if you have a lot of accidents on your record or a DUI, you may not be able to obtain coverage from one of these companies.

What are the best options for high-risk drivers in Georgia?

I did some digging into the car insurance companies that sell in Georgia and offer policies to high-risk drivers, often referred to as non-standard drivers. Using their ratings on Clearsurance, I ranked the top four companies for high-risk drivers:

1.    Safe Auto- With a rating of 3.91, Safe Auto doesn’t compare as well with the highest rated companies in Georgia, but it tops the list among companies that cover high-risk drivers. The reviews talk about Safe Auto being among the cheapest options people could find, and consumers seem to have pretty good overall experience with the company after a claim.

2.    GAINSCO- GAINSCO has a rating of 3.84 and is another company worth considering for high-risk drivers. While the company has fewer reviews than Safe Auto, most seem to feel GAINSCO’s customer service is good for the price.

3.    The General- The most well-known among companies on this list, The General has a rating of 3.68. Consumers seem to believe The General offers cheap prices, but the low rates are reflected in the customer service and handling of claims.

4.    Infinity- Infinity has a rating of 3.53 but it is unique in that every page on its website is available in both English and Spanish, making it a good option for the Hispanic community. The insurer also offers a variety of discounts, including a multi-car discount, good student discount and a paid-in-full discount.

Finding the best car insurance for you or your family shouldn’t have to be completely mind-boggling. Once you step outside the buzz of all those big name brands, figuring out which companies actually offer the best customer service at the best price becomes a lot easier, especially if you’ve got Clearsuranceon your team.

My Skin:
Before diving into my review, lets chat a bit more about my skin. My skin is Combination (leaning more towards Combo/Oily) with some dry patches from active treatment products (just started with Rx retinods). My skin is a bit on the sensitive side. So, I am always seeking products that are effective without irritation. I am also somewhat prone to breakouts.

Derma-E Skin Restore Collection: 
This Peptide and Collagen-based skincare collection is designed to help fight the signs. The collection includes a moisturizer, a serum, and an eye cream. Lets chat more about each one! Apparently the moisturizer in this collection used to be named Deep Wrinkle Moisturizer. Well, that product has been improved and reformulated (and renamed). While I have never tried the latter to compare, these new products are winners for me!

Derma-E Advanced Peptides & Collagen Moisturizer:
This hydrating formula is packed with beneficial active ingredients. Lets talk about a few of them! The formula includes Matrixyl synthe’6 (May help support collagen for healthy-looking tone and texture) and Argireline (softens skin and smoothes fine lines). Other actives include Vitamin C and Green Tea for antioxidant protection.

I have done a bit of side research on Matrixyl synthe'6 and I am excited to encorporate it into my skincare as it does seem to really have some benefits!

I really enjoy the non-greasy feel of this moisturizer. It feels like, sinks right in, and leaves my skin feeling soft and plump. Plus, I am so happy that it does not irritate my sometimes sensitive skin.

Derma-E Advanced Peptides & Collagen Serum:
This serum has the same active ingredients as the moisturizer: Matrixyl synthe'6 and Argireline. I like to layer this product on first and then apply the moisturizer on top.

I really enjoy the soothing gel/serum feel of this product. It smooths onto the skin beautifully and sinks in and dries down within a few minutes. I also really like the subtle lavendar scent to the product. I do believe this scent is from lavendar essential oil (as "natural fragrance oils" are included in ingredients).

Derma-E Advanced Peptides & Collagen Eye Cream:
This eye cream works wonderfully to hydrate the eye area in order to smooth out fine lines. Like the other products in this line, this peptide infused cream also contains Matrixyl synth'6 and Argireline.

This eye cream is super gentle on my sensitive skin. It really does sink in nicely and it works to smooth out my fine lines.

So, is the Derma-E Skin Restore Collection "nature's botox"? Well, I can't quite tell you specifically since I have never had botox and do not have any major wrinkles yet. However, I can tell you that these products are fantastic. They are very hydrating and work to smooth out my fine lines. Plus, I trust that the active ingredients really are beneficial for my skin. First, lets talk about this gorgeous packaging. The sleek shiny red bottle screams sophistication, passion, and luxury. There is no question that this bottle stands out amongst my sea of clear glass perfume bottles on my vanity. Its elegant, sexy, and sophisticated. 

The scent itself is a modern classic. It is a beautiful scent with notes of rose and woody warm vanilla and pear. The overally effect is super sexy and sophisticated. Vanilla is one of my favorite perfume notes as I tend to gravitate towards more vanilla and gourmand-type scents. So, I anticipate this may become one of my new signature scents! 

Overall, I just love this scent! It is passionate and sexy and will totally evoke those coveted "You smell great, what are you wearing?" type comments.

Armani | Code A-List (for Men): 

This is a NEW and Limited Edition twist on the classic Armani Code fragrance. Armani Code A-List adds Bergamot and Green Mandarin notes to the popular Armani Code scent. This scent is strong, mangnetic, and seductive. 

This woody and oriental scent combines bergamot essence and green mandarin with smoky tones of gaïac wood. Plus, layers of lavender heart and the intensity of tonka beans. 

Retails from $68-$82.00 (for 1.7-2.5 oz bottles).

LIP VIBES

(Launched June 2018)

A collection of exceptional new shades were added to the LIP MAESTRO and LIP MAGNET collections. These new LIP VIBES have the modern elegance that characterizes Giorgio Armani cosmetics. There is no question, these are the most beautifully packaged and sophisticated lippies in my makeup collection! These are weightless liquid lipsticks that are smudge-proof and matte. They are so light and completely weightless. Yet, they pack in such vivid color and impact. 

The lip vibes products use a “water in oil” emulsion. This means that the water in the formula gradually evaporates after you apply. This allows a fusing of the oil and pigments which results in a veil of highly-concentrated and extremely long-lasting color.

While I didn't get to try any of the new shades, I did try a few other pretty shades from the collection. I got to try Lip Magnet shades 500 and 506. The Lip Magnet lip shades are so intense! They lay down a second-skin like intense matte color that really lasts. One swipe gives you complete perfect coverage. I am so impressed. These are BEAUTIFUL! The Lip Maestro gives intense velvet color. I got to try out shade 500 in Lip Maestro. 

These lip shades retail for $38.00 each. 

Ecstasy Lacquer Liquid Lipstick:

These gorgeous lippies are liquid lipsticks with the shine of a lacquer and the intense color and hold of a lip stain. Armani's liquid vinyl technology holds a high concentration of water soluable pigments which allows for pure vivid color and amazing long wear. These are available in 24 shades. I got to try out 511, which is a gorgeous soft rosey nude. 

Armani Prima | Contour Perfector Eye & Lip:

This is a fantastic anti-aging product for both eyes and lips. The formula fights fine lines and dark circles in your lip area while also working to prevent feathering of lipstick around your lips into the surrounding area. It creates a more defined lip line. It also works beautifully under highly pigmented concealer. So, it creates a beautiful base for your concealer application to disquise your dark circles. Since dark under eye circles are my #1 beauty compaint, this is an amazing product! Seriously, I need all the help I can get in the under-eye area. This product really helps me to look more rested and awake. 

Retails for $70.00.
