Nail of the Day: Revlon Colorstay in "Buttercup"

I am sure I am "late to the party" with these new Revlon Colorstay Polishes. After admiring them every single time that I visit the drugstore, I finally decided to try them out!

These polishes promise "11 day shatterproof wear". Now, I did not buy them thinking that I could actually go 11-days without needing to change my polish. I mean, if a polish lasts 3 days then I am pleased! 11 days sounds crazy-long! But, I would be happy with any polish lasting longer than 3 days. For best results, Revlon suggests using their Colorstay base and Colorstay top coat for extended wear. So, of course I picked those up too. Actually, I needed a new topcoat. Normally I use Seche Vite (which I totally love); but, I am almost out. So, I might as well try the Colorstay!
This review and NOTD is for the Colorstay Longwearing Nail Enamel in Buttercup and the Revlon Colorstay Longwearing Nail Enamel Base Coat and Top Coat.

NOTD "Pure Ice": Polish looks inspired by The Hunger Games

When I saw that Pure Ice Nail Polish had created some Hunger Games inspired nail looks, I just knew that I just had to recreate them myself!

I am literally obsessed with the Hunger Games book series. I read this series for the first time in December while 9 months pregnant. Hey, any series that keeps me up late at night reading even when very tired and extremely pregnant has got to be a good, right?!?! Well, I am now in the midst of re-reading the series the 2nd time before heading out to see the film. I would have seen the film sooner. But, alas, with a new baby at home, it all depends on getting a sitter! If you haven't read this series yet, then you are just missing out. Its sooooo good! For those of you not familiar with the series/movie, the costumes and makeup are really an integral part of the story. I have been imagining these characters for so long! I can't wait to see how this all translates in the film.

In addition, this week my pre-teen niece Mollee is in town visiting during her Spring Break. Well, I am thrilled that she *just finished* reading Hunger Games and is very excited to see the movie. So, me, Mollee, and my Mom (who has also read and loved the Hunger Games book series) all have a girl-date to see the movie today! In honor of our movie viewing, we all recreated these "Pure Ice" Hunger Games Nail Looks!

For our "Pure Ice" Hunger Games-inspired NOTDs...please keep reading!

The China Glaze Crackle Collection (part 1): An Introduction

Hello my lovelies! OMG, I am so excited to be writing about these polishes! :)

This post is to introduce you to the China Glaze Crackle Glaze polish collection. I will be doing a series of posts with NOTD (Nail of the Day) photos with the various Crackle Polishes.

What are Crackle Glaze polishes? Well, like OPI's popular "Black Shatter" polish, China Glaze Crackle Polishes are finishing polishes that separate and "crackle" as they dry to give the most unique look! I mean, seriously, the first time I saw it happen I was amazed (and am totally planning on doing a video demonstration for ya'll).

If you love the look of "nail art", but don't have the skill to do it on your own, then you will love these. It is like nail-art for the every-day girl!

For my how-to and NOTD, keep reading after the jump!
