"Daily Dose": Take a Beauty-Break! (Beauty, Hair, Skincare, and Fashion)

Daily Dose Blog Post Series

Hello my beautiful readers!

I am starting a new blog-series of sporadic posts dedicated to "short & sweet" tips, inspirations, and quotes. As a "lifelong student" of fashion and beauty, I have many resources on hand to share with you all! It might be a tip from myself, a tip from one of the kazillion magazines that I subscribe to, or beauty/fashion book that I own, or a quote from a fashion/beauty icon.

In my downtime, I relax by perusing these magazines and books finding these little pearls of wisdom to not only learn great basic rules for fashion and beauty, but also to stay current with all the new trends and seasonal suggestions! These little droplets of wisdom are intended for some quick and fun inspiration!!! So, when life gets hectic, go ahead and read my "Daily Dose", it will be like a beauty-break during your day.

So, keep an eye out for the upcoming "Daily Dose" posts! They will be titled, "Daily Dose: Fashion Footnotes", "Daily Dose: Beauty Break", "Daily Dose: Hair Help", and "Daily Dose: Skincare Solutions".

While most of my previous blog posts have been dedicated to Makeup, Skincare, and Hair tips, it will be very fun for me to delve further into the world of fashion as that is one of my other passions!

I hope that ya'll will love these posts! I know that I am going to thoroughly enjoy my beauty and fashion book/magazine "research" and I will be posting the tips that inspire me personally or that I find helpful! This will also be a great opportunity for you readers to comment and share your thoughts/tips/inspirations as well in the comments!!!

Thanks for reading and stay beautiful my dears!

Zeno Line Rewind Wrinkle Reduction Kit: First Impressions Review and Video

Hello my lovely readers! I have a "first impressions" review for you today! :)

I was recently scent the Zeno Line Rewind Wrinkle Reduction Kit by BeautyStat.com for a first-impressions video contest. The idea was to test it out for two weeks, do a video of my honest opinion, and to submit it to BeautyStat for a chance to win a gift certificate. I honestly had not seen this item yet, but was curious to try it out!

Granted, I do not have any major lines yet (just *barely* some fine lines when my skin is very dry or dehydrated). But, that seems to be exactly what this device is supposed to target. Since beginning my test, I have seen this device available at Ulta for about $39.99 and it is also available online. I believe that you can buy the serum separately. The starter kit comes with the device plus a tube of the serum.

For my first-impressions, I had to test the product and device every night right after washing my face for 2 weeks in a row.

So, how did my test go? Did my barely noticeable lines get "rewinded"? Keep reading to find out!

Self-Tanning Tips from Guest Blogger Brianna (Makeup Minutes)

Hello my dear readers!

Today I have a guest post for ya'll from Brianna Thompson from Makeup Minutes! She is sharing some self-tanning tip! If you haven't had a chance to checkout Makeup Minutes, head on over there to show Brianna some love! :)

Also, stay tuned as I am guest blogging over at Makeup Minutes (Top 10 Tips for Growing Healthy Nails) and will be posting a link so that ya'll can head over there to read my guest post! :)

I don’t know about you, but Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez always influence me to get a fabulous glow when I see their beautiful and gorgeous tans!!! Unfortunately, I have had my fair share of the tanning to know that getting into a tanning bed is definitely a- NO!

Instead of putting my skin at risk, I decided to take a trip to the drugstore and get my self-tanner on!!!!  It's a little publicized secret.  A lot of those glowing complexions celebrities sport down the red carpet during awards season are the product of a little clever use of self-tanning products.  Let’s face it, we all have a little celebrity sparkle in us, so we all deserve to have a great celebrity glow.  Here is what I found to offer the fair skinned celebrities among us the best in the three great self-tanners for the most natural looking results.

Neutrogena Build A Tan Lotion gives a VERY DEEP tan when layering!
Nivea Sunkissed Skin Firming Gradual Tan is great for very fair skin!
Jergens Natural Glow Lotion does not leave streaks and has a nice scent!

All of the self-tanners above are streak free, don’t turn you orange, and give great results. The Neutrogena Tanner does have a MUCH stronger scent, but gives a darker tan than the other two!  Jergens Lotion is great for last minute tan.  I can put it on quickly and it glides on so even and leaves me streak free.  For best results, wash, and exfoliate your body before applying and don’t forget to wash your hands after application or you will have orange hands.

For face application, don’t forget to mask for hydration and exfoliate.  Check out my DIY Spa Facial Video here.

So, the next time you want to feel beautiful from a tan, give your skin a break and just give yourself a tan in a tube (or bottle) for a change!  Let your inner beauty sparkle and your outward beauty look fabulous!

Talk about a "Happy Booster", I got this blush for free! Great Physician's Formula Deal at CVS!

OMG! I couldn't resist a quick post telling ya'll about the most amazing sale deal that I think I have EVER stumbled upon!

I just picked up another Happy Booster blush by Physician's Formula for FREE at CVS! Yes, FREE ya'll! Now, I already have this blush in the shade "Natural" (check out my review of that here). This time I purchased the blush in "Rose".

Okay, so how did that happen?

First of all, I am a CVS "Extra Care" member. So, when I purchase items at CVS, the register generates coupons depending on your spending and special "extra care" deals. CVS also generates "Extra Bucks" coupons as well, which are cash-value coupons that can be used toward store purchases for the stated cash value. I combined those extra care coupons with store sales, manufacturer coupons, and an online coupon....and I ended up getting a product for free. Well, even better than that, after my purchase, I got another $7.00 "Extra Bucks" coupon, so, really, I got an item for -$7.00!!!

Here is the breakdown:

Physician's Formula Happy Booster Blush: $11.99
                                       CVS MFR Coupon: -3.00
                            CVS Extra Bucks Coupon: -5.00
                        Physician's Formula Coupon
(it is a peel off sticker on the actual product!): -3.00
CVS email coupon 25% off: -.99
                                                         Subtotal:  .00
                                                       Tax (7%):  .42

OMG...AMAZING!!! So, I got an item for totally free, then I paid tax on it, and the register generated and additional $7.00 extra bucks coupon as you get $7.00 extra bucks back right now with any CVS Physician's Formula Purchase!

So, I am beyond thrilled!!! I might even go back and use the $7.00 towards the Happy Booster Complexion Powder that also had a $3.00 off peely sticker (which would make that only $4.00).

Don't you just love great bargains! So, if you haven't already, sign up for a CVS Extra Care card and register your card for online coupons! :) While you are at it, check out this great Physician's Formula deal! So, yes, I am totally thrilled!!! A new blush, for free!!! Whoo-hoo! Now, this bargain is what I call a "Happy Booster"!!! ;)
