My Latest Every Day Eye Combination: Pixi and Maybelline

It is always exciting when you stumble upon a great new go-to makeup combination for every day! As ya'll may know, I am a Stay-at-Home Mom with my 8-month old baby girl Skylar. I am usually in a total hurry to get ready while she is napping. As much as I love playing around in my makeup and creating new eye looks, most days I just need something quick and easy. For day-to-day, I prefer a soft and natural look that enhances my eyes and makes me feel a bit pulled together.

I have found a great new "quick and easy" eye combination with two products: Maybelline's new Color Tatoo 24 hour Shadow in Barely Beige and Pixi's (new for Fall 2012!) Shade Quartette in "Shades of Taupe".

To hear more about these products and see pictures, please keep reading!
Lately, my go-to everyday eye combination consists of Maybelline Color Tatoo in Barely Beige worn as an eyeshadow base and inner corner highlight (wakes up the eyes!) and Pixi's NEW Shade Quartette in "Shades of Taupe" eye shadows. I just apply the Color Tattoo cream shadow to the inner corner and lid with my finger in a tapping motion and then smooth out. It takes about 2 seconds. :) Then I apply the Pixi shadows on top (vanilla on browbone, taupe on lid, brown in crease, dark brown to line). Easy peasy!
Maybelline's Color Tatoo Shadow in Barely Beige:
Maybelline's color tatoo cream shadows are hands-down amongst the very best of the current lineup of drugstore products. These shadows have remarkable wear! The go all day and never crease. If you haven't had a chance to try these out yet, I highly recommend that you do! They are great either on their own or as an eyeshadow base. While I have loved these cream eye shadows for awhile now, I really did not have a go-to shade from this range...until now! I am just thrilled that Maybelline is continuing to expand this line by adding new colors.

I am so excited about this new color in the Maybelline Color Tatoo line! Champagne is my go-to lid shade. When I am in a super big hurry, all I do for my eyes is add a wash of champagne on the lid and then apply mascara. There are many days when that is literally all I do! This shadow works great in that capacity as does L'Oreals infallible in Iced Latte.

If you caught my Makeup Wars: Battle of the Taupes post, you know how I love taupe shadows! With my blue eyes and cool-toned fair skin, taupe shades are pretty much the most flattering neutrals that I can wear. Pixi's "Shades of Taupe" is an ideal combination of 3 taupey or brown neutrals plus one vanilla highlight shade.

Pixi's NEW Shade Quartette Shadows:
I would categorize this Pixi quartette as having "medium" pigmentation. The shadows are soft and are easy to apply. Since the pigmentation is not super bold, the shadows do not require a ton of blending. My only critique is that I do wish that the darker brown shade was a bit more pigmented to give more lining definition.

So, this Pixi/Maybelline combination is my latest go-to combination! I just love it! It is always exciting to find great new products that work well and quickly for those mornings that you are in a hurry (yet you still want to end up looking cute!).

Maybelline's new Limited Edition Fall 2012 Fashion Week Collection is available at most drugstores and Pixi's line is available at Target.

The Maybelline Fall Fashion Week collection contains 4 new Color Tatoo shades: Barely Beige, Gold Shimmer, Mossy Green, and Rich Mahogany. They retail for about $7.00 each (but check for sales/coupons!). One of my very favorite bloggers G over at Noveau Cheap did a great post on these shadows, so be sure to check it out: Maybelline Fall 2012 Fashion Week Collection.

Pixi's Shade Quartettes come in 3 shades: "Shades of Nude", "Shades of Peach", and "Shades of Taupe". They are available at pixibeauty.com and Target (and target.com) for $22.00 each. The finishes range from satin-shimmer and each quartette has all the shadows you need for a complete eye look. I might just have to pick up "Shades of Peach" next!

What is your latest go-to every day look lately?

Thanks so much for reading!

I purchased the Maybelline
and got a sample of the Pixi.
