It is time for another Makeup Wars! This time we are talking about our favorite Hair Products!

Hair products are near and dear to my heart. I put a lot of time and effort into my hair. So, I want to use products that bring out the best in my hair. I will fully admit that I probably spend more than I need to on highlights and cuts. So, I want to take care of my investment, lol! I am not satisified with "ok" hair. I want shiny and pretty hair everyday. If my hair looks good, I feel better about myself overall! Before diving into my favorite hair products, lets talk a bit about my hair type.

My Hair:
I have heavily highlighted, long, and thick hair. My hair is coarse in texture. Rarely is a product "too rich" for me. In fact, I struggle to find products that are moisturizing and soothing enough for my hair. Because of my highlights, my hair is on the dry and damaged side. However, I have found that using really great products combats the damage and makes my hair look healthy.

My Favorite Products:
These favorites have been collected over the years. Some are very old favorites and some of these are new favorites. Either way, these are all heavy hitters in my weekly hair routine. So, let's dive right in.

To find out all of the details about these products and why I love them, please click "read more" below! :)

I absolutely cannot rave about this stuff enough. This has been my go-to hair treatment for about 10 years now. I have devoted an entire review post about this product and this post continues to be one of my top 10 posts on my blog to this day. If you have chemical damage, you need to use this. Actually, if you highlight or color your hair at all, you should use this. It completely counteracts the damaging effects of highlights and leaves your hair strong, smooth, and breakage-free. Years ago I had a bad highlighting experience that left me with cortex damage. My hair was wreaked. It was mushy and sticky and I was fearing that I had to completely cut it off. Then I found this product and it saved my hair. To this day, I still do an Aphogee treatment before and after every highlights appointment. This treatment has allowed me to grow very long and strong hair despite having a ton of highlights. Honestly, nothing that I have found works as well as this product. Nothing. It is quite a process to use it as you have to blow dry it in (takes about 45 minutes). The results last for 6 weeks. Absolutely no breakage for 6 weeks ya'll! To find out more, please read my full review post here.

Aphogee Green Tea Reconstructor:
This leave-in is a fabulous way to boost protein while blow-drying your hair. The heat of your hair dryer will help the protein to penetrate. I literally spray this in my hair after every shower. I just spray it generously into my hair and then comb out. I really think it makes a difference in my hair! Plus, I like that you can spray it in very generously and it does not make your hair greasy at all. The texture feels like water. I have literally been using this for years. It is one of those products that every time I check out at Sally's, the salesgirls say "Isn't this stuff great?!"

No matter what other hair care lines I use and love, I always circle back to my favorite: Redken All Soft. I adore the Shampoo, Conditioner, and Heavy Cream. This line leaves my hair manageable, shiny, and smooth. My hair is just so easy to comb out and feels so strong and healthy when I consistently use these products. I literally always use these products when I am in-between other hair product testing. They are almost always in my shower and when I run out, I immediately buy more!

Pureology Perfect 4 Platinum Cool Blonde Enhancing Treatment:
No matter what, my blonde highlights always seem to end up a bit too warm toned for my coloring. To counteract this, I like to use violet color enhancing products to tone down brassiness. About every 3-4 shampoos, I use this color depositing conditioner to balance out my hair color. This conditioner leaves my hair super soft and the violet color deposit beautifully tones my hair.

White Sands Porosity The Fix:
This product is, quite frankly, liquid magic. This multi-purpose leave-in boosts shine, makes hair soft and manageable, and helps to correct porosity (highlighted hair is very porous after chemical treatments). I just spray a couple squirts onto my hands and then work my hands through my dry hair after styling. It smooths, adds shine, and just makes my hair look simply amazing. I adore this stuff! You can check out my more detailed review here.

Zero Frizz Keratin Corrector Hair Serum:
This product is my other Holy Grail hair serum. I alternate using this product and the White Sands Porosity The Fix. They are very different but do have a somewhat similar result: smooth, shiny, and manageable hair. This product feels like a cross between a hair serum and a gel. I just smooth about a pump's worth through my dry hair for unbeatable frizz protection, smoothing, and shine. Using this gives you a good hair day! Plus, it helps your hair fight humidity. Check out my full review here.

Dove Oxygen Moisture Root Lift Spray:
This is my go-to product for styling my bangs! I just spray this a little at the roots before round brushing and it gives them fabulous hold and lift. If I don't use a root lift spray, my bangs are too flat to my head. This stuff works perfectly! Sometimes I add it throughout my entire head at the roots when I want a bit more lift overall. Love this product and it smells great! It adds great fullness and a touch of moisture, too.

L'Oreal Smooth Intense Ultimate Straight Straight Perfecting Balm:
This is a fantastic smoothing and conditioning balm. It helps to smooth your hair while protecting it from heat styling. I add about a dime size of this to my hair length (avoiding root area) after using my spray-in leave-in conditioner.

Kieh'l's Amino Acid Shampoo and Conditioner:
Have you explored Kiehl's hair care? Their Amino Acid Shampoo and Conditioner are the first hair products that I have tried from the brand and I just love them! This shampoo has a rich and creamy lather. It leaves my hair so soft and shiny. The combination of this shampoo and conditioner makes my hair incredibly manageable. Plus, I just adore the coconut scent!

What are your top hair products? I would love to hear! Also, be sure to scroll through the thumbnails at the bottom of the post to see what my fellow bloggers are loving for their hair. As a group, we have a wide variety of hair types. So, I am curious to see what products we have in common! :)

XOXO!

ApHogee is amazing!!! I love their protein treatments as well...they have saved my hair more than once!! Oddly, that Redken de-frizz did NOTHING for my hair. You should try the Roux conditioner I mentioned. It's up there with ApHogee....

I've been using a lot from Redken lately! I'm loving their Diamond oil and my hubs love their styling wax!

Surprisingly I haven't used any of these but my DIL has hair similar to yours so I'll share this list with her.

Fabulous picks! I love just about everything I've tried from Redken. Their styling products don't work for me but their shampoos are soooo good for color-treated hair.
