Despirately Seeking SPF: Soleil Organique SPF 45

As the blazing heat and sun of the Summer continues, so does my Desperately Seeking SPF: Sunscreen Review Series! The sun is still very strong here in GA. We must always (daily) protect ourselves with SPF. Be it my morning walk, or an afternoon at the pool, I always have sunscreen on my body.

Did you know that our Skin is considered to be the body's largest organ? Anything that we put on our body skin can be absorbed into our body. Because of the large surface area of body skin, you can absorb a significant amount of product. Especially with items that you use every day. I am not a chemist nor a doctor, so I can't tell you exact concentrations of absorption. I like to play it safe with sunscreens by using either a trusted brand or using a natural product.

This review is for Soliel Organic 100% Mineral Sunscreen SPF 45. To hear more, keep reading after the jump.

Soliel Organique 100% Mineral Sunscreen SPF 45:
This is a thin liquid sunscreen in a spray bottle. I much prefer sunscreen sprays! They are so much easier to apply. I just mist this all over my body and then lightly rub in with my hands. I find that I get very good coverage with this application method. This sunscreen leaves my skin feeling slightly oily. So, I find that this sunscreen is best worn when I am outside for the day either at the pool or at the beach.

Active Sunscreen Ingredient: Titanium Dioxide (acts as a mineral filter providing natural protection against UVA and UVB rays which cause cell damage and burning).

Also contains:
  • EcoSunComplex®, our power packed natural formulation composed of Red Algae, Vitamin C Ester, Vitamin E and Bisabolol, acts as a natural SPF booster, reduces UV-induced DNA damage, prevents loss of firmness, increases skin smoothness, and decreases wrinkle depth.
  • Green Tea Leaf extract, which has demonstrated an ability to help guard against UV-induced immunosuppression and cancer-causing skin damage.
Soliel Organique 100% Mineral Sunscreen SPF 45 contains no parabens, petrochemicals, phthalates, sulfates, propylene glycol, animal ingredients or testing, no synthetic fragrances or colors.

The Skinny:
A 4 oz bottle retails for $42.00 at Soliel Organique online.

What do ya'll think? Is it worth it to go natural or organic for sunscreens?
