Tarte LipSurgence Lip Tint "Amused"

When Birchbox asked its Birchbloggers for their thoughts on a recent Birchbox item: Tarte's LipSurgence Natural Lips Stains, I jumped at the chance to write a review because I love this lip tint!

Besides just loving the fact that Birchbox included a full-sized Tarte Lip Tint in the March Teen Vogue Birchbox, I love the LipSurgence's packaging, color, and wear.

As a perennial lover of baby pink and nude lips, I really like it when I have the opportunity to branch out into deeper and bolder colors. I mean, I have a full range of shades in my lippie collection. But, I usually just reach for the light pinks.

So, enter Tarte's LipSurgence Lip Tint in Amused...
First of all, I am loving the delivery of this lip color. It is a "tint" in a pencil-shaped balm form. The bottom of the pencil twists up like a traditional lipbalm (so even though it looks like a pencil, it never needs to be sharpened).

This is a gorgeous shade: a rich berry-like color. I would describe it as a deep cool-toned fuchsia pink. It has a cool minty scent that just feels refreshing. The balm feel is nicely moisturizing on my dry lips. This is pretty long wearing on me. It's tint lasts for a few hours and lessens over time.
I find that this shade is just so bright and pretty! It really does wonders for my fair skin. The color applies rather sheer; but, since the shade is so rich, it really provides quite a punch of color. Since the color is so bold on the lips, I usually pair it with a sheer blush (like Maybelline's Dream Bouncy Blush in Rose Petal) and neutral eyes (either Urban Decay's Naked 2 palette or theBalm's Nude'tude).

The Skinny:
  • Retails for $24.00 for a .10 oz pencil
  • Comes in 8 Shades
  • Available at tartecosmetics.com, Sephora, and (of course!) Birchbox
I think I have found a winner in Tarte's LipSurgence Amused Lip Tint! I think I am a pale-lip color convert as I am loving the bright lips look now!

What are you loving on your lips lately? Are you going for bright lips for Spring?

As always, thanks for reading!
I pay for my Birchbox subscription.
This item came in the monthly "samples" box.

I have the opportunity to
win a set of Tarte's Lipstain
from Birchbox if my review gets
selected to post on the Birchbox blog.
