Awards season continues to be in full-swing. The latest big show: the 2017 SAG Awards! I always am interested to see the winners from this show since it is a peer-review type award. I am almost equally (if not more) excited to see the gorgeous makeup and glamorous dresses as I am to see the actual show! 

Neutrogena was generous enough to share the beauty breakdown for Neutrogena's Brand Ambassador Kerry Washington's skincare, hair, and makeup look for the 2017 SAG Awards!

How To:

"In order to achieve Kerry’s glowing complexion, I always start by applying Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel to boost hydration and nourish the skin. This is one of the best primers to use before makeup application because it hydrates while creating a smooth canvas. I proceed to moisturizing the lips with Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Lip Treatment and leave it on until the end, blotting before lipstick application. Once Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel is absorbed on the skin, I begin makeup application. My first step is to highlight and conceal imperfections wherever needed with Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Concealer in Deep. I apply it under the eye area to conceal any darkness and highlight the areas on the bridge of the nose, the center of the chin and the center of the forehead. To create an even skin tone on Kerry, I used Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Tint in Cocoa.

This is the new foundation Neutrogena is launching in February with the hydrating benefits of hyaluronic acid. It moisturizes and plumps the skin for 24 hours and gives great coverage. It’s long lasting and creates a radiant, healthy complexion without having to use any additional enhancers on the skin. It’s the perfect match to Kerry’s skin tone and makes her skin look flawless. I apply it all over her face and blend with a round brush for a smoother application. Right after the foundation, I always like to apply the blush on the apple of the cheeks and blend upward towards the temples. For this particular look, I wanted to give Kerry rosy cheeks and used Neutrogena Healthy Skin Blush in Vibrant, which did just that.

I wanted Kerry’s eye makeup to look fierce, classy and dramatic, with an edge. I used Neutrogena Nourishing Long Wear Eye Shadow + Built-In Primer in Smoky Steel. I applied shade #1, the lightest silver shade, as a base all over the eyes and on the inner corners to highlight. I proceeded to apply shade #4, the darkest shade on palette all over the eyelid and blended upwards until I reached the area above the crease. I wanted the dark eyeshadow to show and lay on top of her eyes when they were open. With the same shade and using a smaller brush (a precision brush), I shaped Kerry’s eyes by extending the eyeshadow towards the outside of the eye creating a pointed shape. Next, I dragged it down under the eye area right below lash line, connecting the upper with the lower eye makeup. I proceeded to blend the harsh lines with a blending brush to create a smooth application. Next, I lined the upper lash line, following Kerry’s eye shape and the inside of the bottom eye rim to create more intensity with Neutrogena Nourishing Eye Liner in Cosmic Black. I adhered a strip of Ardell Faux Lashes #811 and layered a few coats of Neutrogena Healthy Volume Mascara in Carbon Black to the top and bottom lashes and brushed the lashes with a brow brush to separate them and get rid of any mascara excess.

To accentuate Kerry’s eyebrows I used Anastasia’s Brow Wiz in Brunette. I penciled her eyebrows in the direction of hair growth using a matching shade to Kerry’s own eyebrow color. 

I always finish the look with lipstick. I first lined the lips with Urban Decay’s Midnight Cowboy lip liner and then applied Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Lip Shine in Berry Brown."

"When I saw her Roberto Cavalli white dress I was truly inspired to go with a very simplistic, chic and smooth hairstyle with a long middle part and some slight color to highlight the hair. I felt like the strapless and form fitting dress had a very 70's look to it that was effortlessly sexy."

How To:

"I shampooed her hair with Neutrogena Anti-Residue Shampoo and conditioned her hair with Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask. The conditioner gave Kerry's hair a really nice shine and softened her strands. 

Secondly, I blew out her damp hair with the Dyson supersonic blow dryer. This blow dryer is great because Kerry is all about the health of her hair and doesn't like a lot heat on it at all. Plus it dried her hair in the half the time. I attached the Dyson smoothing nozzle to the dryer which dried her hair gently and really fast with a medium size brush to smooth her strands out nicely. This dryer prevents her hair from getting damaged by extreme heat because the temperature stays under control so it won't damage the hair.

To finish off her hairstyle, I parted her hair down the middle to open up the hair show her face. Next, I parted her hair in the back and clipped in TSDHair extensions, as well as in the middle. To finish off the hairstyle I clipped in the medium brown custom color done by me around her face."
