Getting my Bronze on with tarte: Better Bod Bronze & Contour and Brazilian Plus +

Affiliate Link  Press Sample

Summer is the time for baring outfits and bronzed skin. So, what is a fair girl to do? A "real" tan is hard to come by with my skin tone. Not only is it unsafe for me to try to tan, but also it really is almost impossible for me to achieve a bronzed look from the sun. That is right, I rarely tan, as I just end up burning and freckling and peeling. It is no fun and I gave up years and years ago in favor of shade at the pool and beach and high daily SPF use. However, I do still love that bronzed look.

Well, the good news is that there are so many wonderful ways to get a bronze glow now without having to try to tan the old-fashioned way. Tarte has some fabulous new products for achieving a gorgeous bronze look with ease! Introducing: Better Bod Bronze & Contour and Brazilian Plus +.

Makeup Must-Haves from tarte: Some of my New Favorites!

Affiliate Link Press Sample
#tartecosmetics

I just love diving into new makeup products! Recently, I am really loving an assortment of products from one of my favorite makeup brands: tarte! Lets talk a little bit about some new (to me) products that I am loving from tarte: the Maracuja creaseless concealer, the tarteist lip crayons, and the Amazonian clay full coverage foundation with SPF 15.

Flawless Skin and Vibrant Lips:
As many of ya'll know, I really struggle with dark under eye circles. Between heredity, allergies, and general lack of sleep...my dark circles really have no chance of going away. Sure, I am on the constant quest for under eye creams and treatments. However, my best shot at eliminating my dark circles is simply using a really good high-coverage concealer. Most concealers are simply not pigmented enough to completely cover my very, very dark under eye circles. That is exactly why I am so excited about this amazing concealer!!!
This full-coverage and creaseless concealer from tarte is simply amazing! It offers long-lasting complete coverage with a formula that looks natural. Plus, it is formulated with skin-loving ingredients like tarte's trademark pure maracuja oil (proven to improve skin's tone, texture, and moisture content). Not only is this product great for covering dark circles and any other skin imperfection like blemishes, but also the shade fair (the lightest shade in the range) is an excellent match for my skin tone (this concealer comes in 15 shades: impressive!!!).

I absolutely love tarte's Maracuja Creaseless Concealer and am completely thrilled with the coverage, match, and wear! Amazing!!!

These 2-in-1 lip crayons help prime and line your lips in beautiful and vibrant colors. These feature a twist-up automatic precision tip. I am so impressed with how pigmented and bold these shades are! They smooth on beautifully while laying down a great base of highly saturated color. Honestly, I am tending to reach for these to wear on their own with just a bit of gloss on top! They give that much color. I am using the shades: totes, turnt up, latergram, amaze, and thirsty. The color is very long lasting. I really love these lip crayons! The tarteist lip crayons are some of the best lip liners I have ever used!

Wow! This foundation is beautiful!!! This foundation truly gives me flawless skin and super smooth coverage. When I am wanting a full coverage/perfect skin look, this is my go-to foundation. The shade "fair beige" is an ideal match for my skin tone (it comes in 25 shades, so you are likely to get a good match!). The formula is oil-free. You really do get extended wear from this foundation. tarte states it has 12-hours of wear and I do believe it! Also, I like that the sunscreen included in the formula is non-chemical (titanium dioxide and zinc oxide). It only takes a small amount of this foundation to give me beautiful and flawless coverage. The formula is thick and pigmented enough for me not to need additional concealer on my face with the exception of my super dark under eye circles. However, it covers redness and minor skin imperfections beautifully! The coverage is fantastic! Plus, the Amazonian clay full coverage foundation does not accentuate my pores nor make me break out. It is amazing how this foundation gives such awesome coverage...yet, it does not feel heavy.

So, these are my latest loves from tarte! Are you a tarte fan? What are you loving lately from the brand? I know they have a lot of new Spring/Summer releases that I am very excited to try out! :)

Tips for Buying Beauty Gifts:
It can be hard to buy a beauty gift! Everyone has their own tastes and opinions when it comes to beauty items. So, it is great to go with something highly recommend and universally adored. When you keep hearing about an item over and over...there really must be something good about it. That is how I feel about the tarte Maracuja Oil. Plus, when you add in the beautiful Limited Edition packaging, it makes it an excellent gift! As far as palettes...there are just so many out there! So, I like going with neutral shades in a useful assortment. The tartelette palette is a makeup collection essential!

Top Ten Tuesdays: Top Ten Foundations

I Bought It Press Sample Affiliate Link

It is time for Top Ten Tuesdays! This week we are sharing our Top Ten Foundations. Over the years, I have really grown to love foundation. Nothing perfects your skin better! There are quite a few in my current makeup rotation. From liquid to powder and matte to dewy or sheet to full coverage, I really do like a variety of formulations and finishes. It just depends on my mood and what look and feel I want on that particular day. So, without further ado, here is my list! I have both high end and drugstore loves to share! :)

Top Ten Tuesdays: Top Ten Foundations:
  • MAC | Studio Fix Powder Foundation: This is my longest running favorite foundation! Actually, this is the first foundation that I ever wore on a regular basis. For day-to-day/everyday wear, I prefer the ease of dusting a light layer of powder foundation. The coverage of this powder is just amazing. Just an easy and light dusting really perfects my skin and leaves me looking flawless. NC15 is a perfect match for me in this foundation. I am never without this. As soon as I run out, I always buy more. Also, sometimes I layer this over a lighter coverage liquid foundation to increase coverage. Love, love, love this!
  • It Cosmetics | Celebration Foundation: This is a fabulous powder foundation! It is packed with anti-aging ingedients. So, like all IT Cosmetics products, it is good for your skin while giving you a flawless finish! While it is a powder, it has a luxurious creamy feel and fabulous luminous coverage.
  • COVERGIRL | Ready, Set, Gorgeous Foundation: The Classic Ivory shade is a pretty good match for me in the Summer when my complexion is slightly darker. While I do wish this was slightly lighter, I still love the look, feel, and coverage of this foundation. Plus, the price is great!
  • Urban Decay | Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup: Like the name states, this foundation feels weightless on your skin. This foundation honestly looks like "real skin"...but better! It is so natural, so light, and so flawless while still giving good coverage. Plus the shade 0.5 Cool/Very Fair is a perfect match for me.
  • Shiseido | UV Protective Stick Foundation: This stick foundation from Shiseido is phenomenal! It is water-resistant and it contains SPF. So, it is a perfect Summer foundation for me. The shade Fair Ivory is a decent match for my skin tone (just slightly too dark...but, it works in the Summer when I am slightly darker and self-tanning). This glides on smoothly and it is a perfect small size for your purse for touch-ups!
  • Lancome | Teint Visionaire Skin Correcting Makeup Duo: I love this 2-in-1 from Lancome! It has a liquid foundation on the bottom that is packed with anti-aging ingredients (contains the active ingredient as Lancome's Visonaire Serum!!!) as well as light-refecting skin enhancers. The top flips up to reveal a creamy concealer. This is a great idea! I use the liquid all over and then use the concealer to give more coverage where I need it on my face. I love how my skin looks with this: flawless with a dewy glow. Beautiful! I wear shade #100 Ivoire.
  • tarte | Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation: As much as I have grown to love liquid formula foundations, I admit that for "easy makeup" days, I always reach for a powder formula. This is so fast and easy to apply. It has all good ingredients in it, too. I like the natural finish (not totally matte). You can build coverage from light-full depending on how you apply. I apply it with tarte's brush and it looks flaweless. Plus, this really lasts all day! I wear the shade fair-light neutral.
  • NARS | Sheer Glow Foundation: This hydrating and luminous formula leaves my skin looking so perfected while feeling so light on my skin. The shade match of Siberia is spot on to my skintone in the Winter. So, this is a perfect foundation for right now! Love, love, love it!
So, that is it! My Top 10 Foundations. If I was forced to choose a Top 3 out of this list, they would be NARS Sheer Glow, MAC Studio Fix, and Urban Decay Naked Skin because those three are the best matches for my ultra light skin tone. However, all ten of these really are fabulous! So, be sure to check them out. Also, be sure to scroll through the thumbnails below to see what my fellow Top Ten Tuesdays Bloggers picked for their foundation favorites! :) xoxo

Fab Fast Friday: Blush LOVE: Recent Faves from tarte, Josie Maran, and Pรผr Minerals

 Affiliate Link Press Sample

Another update in my Fab Fast Friday series? Two weeks in a row? What, what? Yes! There are more products that I am digging and just had to share in a fast fashion. Ya'll know that I tend to get verbose when gushing about products that I love. So, with Fab Fast Friday, I try to give you the scoop on some of the most awesome products that I come across. They have to be Fab to be here!

This Friday I have a bit of a theme: blush! Ya'll know I am a blush fanatic. No other makeup product makes me swoon more. So, here are some fun and newly released blushes that I love and think are Fab!

Pรผr Minerals – the Cheek Stain:
Give your cheeks the perfect pink touch with this new blush and brush duo from Pรผr Minerals. Filled with antioxidant-rich wine extracts that fight age-accelerating free radicals, this gel-like stain melts onto your skin to give you a fresh, dewy glow. For the perfect wash of color, add just a touch, or layer it on for a dramatic blush. I have the shade Cabernet and it is so pretty. It looks super natural and the cool tone is great with my skin. Other shades available include: Bellini, Rosรฉ, and Prosecco (and, lol, yes, I am craving a glass of wine now!)

What a gorgeous new shade addition to the iconic tarte Cheek Stain collection! If you haven't tried tarte's Cheek Stains yet, they are a must-try! These are straight to cheek application with a quick dry down and 12-hour wear (for real!). Glisten is a gorgeous glittery/shimmery peach. I have fair skin and it has subtle color and a big punch of shimmer on me. Super fun to wear!

This blush is in a totally new category for me...a creamy oil! Just when I thought I had tried everything blush-wise, here is a totally new type of product. Apply a small amount to the lips or the apples of the cheeks for the perfect pop of hydrating color. The tinted treatment starts as a cream and melts into an oil for sheer, natural-looking, never-greasy color. In addition to 100% pure argan oil, it's packed with natural oils and butters from sunflowers, tangerines, oranges and more. I love knowing that I am applying something that is good for my skin when applying this! I am so digging facial oils lately. So, it is nice to get the benefits of Argan Oil in a makeup product! I have the shade Limitless Pink and it is lovely!

Summer Essentials: Favorite Waterproof Makeup

Press Sample/I Bought It  Affiliate Link Blogger Ambassador

With the temps in the mid-upper 90s, it is time to embrace my no-fail Waterproof Makeup! Waterproof makeup is essential this time of year. Many days I do end up either at the pool or doing water activities with the kids in the back yard. I often do not know how my day will play out. So, I always opt for as much waterproof makeup as possible. Plus, in this heat, Waterproof makeup is much more resistant to sweat and general makeup "melt-down"!

Overall, my makeup look is very simplified (and even more so in the Summertime when I honestly just couldn't be bothered with a fussy look). So, I keep it streamlined: concealer (for under eye area and concealer or a good coverage foundation to dab over slight redness on chin and around nose area), a dab of powder, mascara, maybe eyeshadow (just a wash of color on the lids if I do), lipbalm or sheer lip gloss, and a bit of blush or bronzer applied as blush for color. If I am getting "fancy", I will do eyeliner, too.

I have a nice little assortment of waterproof and longwearing makeup options in my makeup collection right now. So, I am going to share some of my favorite picks with you today!

Summertime Essentials: Some Great Waterproof Makeup Options:
  • It Cosmetics | Bye Bye Under Eye Waterproof: How amazing is it that my favorite concealer by It Cosmetics is also available in an waterproof formula?!?! This pleases me to no end! The coverage is amazing and the pigmentation is fabulous. The shade "Light" works very well with my fair skin tone. I just love that I can cover my super dark under eye circles in a waterproof way! Even if I wear no other make, I don't leave the house without concealing those bad dark circles!
  • tarte | Amazonian clay waterproof bronzer (in both matte and shimmer finishes): Waterproof bronzers? Yes, please! I wear high SPF on my face. However, I do still crave that sunkissed glow and can get that with these tarte bronzers! I am especially in love with the matte one! Beautiful!
  • Shiseido | UV Protective Stick Foundation SPF 37: This is a long-lasting water resistant foundation with a creamy feel and medium coverage. This is great for covering slight redness around my nose and on my chin. This foundation is very convenient for travel or on-the-go touch ups because of the slim and portable size. This doesn't budge until I take it off! It comes in four shades. I am the shade Fair Ivory.
  • Pixi | Endless Silky Eye Intensity Duo and Lash Line Ink: Pixi sure does know have a nice selection of waterproof liners! Right now, I am especially loving the Silky Eye Intensity Duo in the Blue Eye Intensity Shade. It is a no-smudge dual ended eyeliner with a deep matte blue grey liner on one side and a brightening opal beige on the other side. I line my upper lash line with the blue grey and brighten up my inner corner and lower waterline with the beige. It is super easy to apply and very flattering for my blue eyes! If I want more of a "liquid liner" look, I reach for Pixi's Lash Line Ink which I have loved for years! It quickly lays down dark color and it doesn't budge. The tip makes it very easy to use and is a great product to get that winged liner look.
  • COVERGIRL | Clump Crusher by LashBlast Mascara: I know, I just can't stop talking about Clump Crusher! It is my all-time favorite mascara. If you haven't already, you really must explore COVERGIRL's mascaras. I am quite a fan of pretty much all of the LashBlast mascaras. Clump Crusher is water resistant, doesn't smudge, and defines my lashes beautifully with no clumps. Plus, the green tube is pretty darn cute!
  • essence | Gel Eye Pencil: I have long been a fan of essence's eye liners. They are so cheap and honestly so good! These glide on and lay down nice dark color. For only $2.99 each, you can afford to indulge in a variety of fun colors for Summer!

My Lastest Favorite Powder Foundation and Primer Combo: tarte and Pรผr Minerals

Affiliate Link Press Sample

Don't you love stumbling upon an amazing makeup combination that just...works?!?! I sure do! That is how I feel about my latest powder foundation and primer combo: tarte's Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation applied with their amazing Buffer Airbrush Finish Bamboo Foundation Brush and Pรผr Minerals’ Color Correcting Primer. This combo is so quick and easy! Plus, it gives great coverage and makes my skin look effortlessly flawless. This is my first time trying both foundations from tarte (love) and primer from Pรผr Minerals. I am so impressed!
Pรผr Minerals Color Correcting Primer in Dark Spot Corrector: First of all, I must mention that my dark spots are very faint. However, they are bothersome to me. My skincare is slowly fading them. However, I do like them to be covered up. This primer blurs them out while creating a gorgeous base for my powder foundation (or liquid, if I choose to wear liquid).

From Pรผr Minerals: Containing clinically proven skin-perfecting ingredients, these lightweight primers also brighten and firm the skin’s appearance while leaving a silky smooth finish. Available in five problem-solving shades, including the newest limited-edition Illuminate and Glow.

To use, I just apply a pea sized amount of this primer to my whole face (after moisturizing and applying sunscreen).

Tarte Amazonian Clay Airbrush Foundation:
I love powder foundation. However, I rarely stray from my HG MAC Studio Fix. Well, step aside MAC, there is a new powder foundation in my life:  Tarte Amazonian Clay Airbrush Foundation!

I love the packaging of this foundation! It is a loose foundation packaged in a sifter jar. This does not sound new and different, right? Well, the difference is in the "type" of sifter. It is like a mesh stretchy fabric. You just touch your brush to it and it releases powder onto your brush. It is almost "magical", lol...I am a sucker for unique twists like this. It just makes the product extra special. ;) The cap has an inner circle that pokes down further than the lid. So, when you screw the jar shut, this little inner part seals off the loose powder mesh sifter so that powder does not shake around when the lid is closed. Genius! Pure genius!

Packaging aside, the powder itself is phenomenal. It gives natural-looking full coverage and long wear. I have been wearing the shade fair-light neutral (fair to light skin with yellow and pink undertones). This shade works so well for me. I really am a true "neutral" and appreciate a powder formulated for my skins tones.

Tarte Airbrush Finish Bamboo Foundation Brush:
This amazing brush and the Tarte Amazonian Clay Airbrush Foundation go together like peanut butter and jelly. It is just the perfect density and softness to apply and distribute the powder foundation beautifully and flawlessly! The combination of the powder and the brush really do give you an airbrush finish! Plus, this brush is beautiful! I love the wooden handle and the glam gold detailing. Gorgeous, soft, and works amazing! What more could you want from a brush? Love!!!

What is your favorite primer, brush, and foundation combo lately? I love hearing about products that work well together! :)
