Don't you love that clear-pore feeling that you get from a great facial? I know that I sure do. However, getting routine facials are difficult to arrange logistically and financially. The great news is that there are some really fantastic beauty tools on the market to give you professional results right in your own home.

Today I am really excited to share my first post in a 2-part blog series. I partnered with Trophy Skin and MavenX to try out Trophy Skin's Labelle Ultrasonic Skin Spatula to share my initial impressions and then my results after a few weeks. Today's post will focus on my skin concerns, product details for the Labelle Ultrasonic Skin Spatula, and my initial impressions. So, lets get started! I am excited to share.

My Skin:
Before diving into details about the Labelle Ultrasonic Skin Spatula, let me share a little more about my skin type and concerns. I want to give you some background on my skin so that you can understand my frame of refrence and will understand what I seek in my skincare products and devices.

I have classic combination skin that is somewhat sensitive. I do not break out often. However, if I am not careful with my skincare choices, I do ocassionally break out around my t-zone area. Also, I always feel like my pores are a little bit clogged and congested. Specifically, my t-zone is my "problem area" for clogged and enlarged pores. So, I am really hoping to target this area.

I am in my early 40s. So, I am interested in age prevention. While I do not have any major lines or wrinkles yet, fine lines are a concern. I want to prevent those signs of aging from appearing for as long as possible. I believe in both prevention and treatment. My fine lines are not very noticable. However, they do tend to crop up more when my skin gets dehydrated around my eyes and ever-so-slightly around my mouth. I am looking for great products and devices that are proven effective for both keeping my skin clear as well as for anti-aging purposes. I want products and devices to be effective while also not aggrevating my sensitive skin.

I have been curious about Skin Spatulas for quite some time! So, I was super excited to try out the Labelle Ultrasonic Skin Spatula from Trophy Skin. When I was browsing the Trophy Skin site for my device selection for this post, the Labelle Ultrasonic Skin Spatula stood out as an option that would really work for my skin type. It looked like it would be a very gentle way to get great exfoliation while clearing out my pores. Plus, I like that this device does double duty as both a deep pore cleaner/exfoliator as well as a sonic infuser for anti-aging skincare! Really, this device seems to be a perfect match for my skin type and skin concerns!

What is a Skin Spatula?
The Labelle Ultrasonic Skin Spatula from Trophy Skin is a home version of the popular spa treatment known as "ultrasonic skin scrubbing".

The Labelle Ultrasonic Skin Spatula targets skin concerns such as: clogged pores, excess oil
Blackheads and Whiteheads, dry and flaky skin, dull skin tone, uneven texture, and polluted skin. Some of these problems sure are issues for me!

The Labelle Ultrasonic Skin Spatula works by using ultrasonic waves at 30,000 Hz per second. You use the device postitioned at a 30 degree angle while gliding it across your skin to unclog pores
and remove dead skin cells and debris. The angle plus the motion really forces all of that gunk out of your pores in a safe and effective way. Trophy Skin states that the device also works to help get rid of blackheads. However, I never get blackheads, so I can't test the device out for blackhead removal. I just have a lot of debris in my pores and my pores always look enlarged.

In addition to the pore clearing aspect of this device, the Labelle Ultrasonic Skin Spatula also acts as a sonic infuser! Sonic infusers drive the active ingredients of your skincare deeper into your skin with the ultrasonic waves. I love this idea. It literally boosts the effectiveness of the skincare that you are already using and loving. So, to use this device as a sonic infuser, you literally use this device to spread your desired skin serum or cream onto your skin.

Initial Impressions:

Pore Clearing and Exfoliation:
I think this device is a game-changer for me for getting rid of pore debris. It has constantly bugged me that while my skin is not broken out, that my pores never look "clear". I will fully admit that I have occasionally tried to remove pore debris by pinching and pushing at my skin. I know, I know...you should never do that...but, I am occasionally guilty of it. I find that the Labelle Ultrasonic Skin Spatula gives me that clear-pore feeling that I crave in a safe manner. My inital thoughts are that  this device seems to be giving me spa-quality facial results at home. While I don't break out often, I can imagine that consistant use of this device will further decrease my chances of breaking out. If my pores are clear of debris, then they are less likely to form a blemish.

As far as exfoliation, I like that the Labelle Ultrasonic Skin Spatula is a very gentle way to provide exfoliation to your skin compared with other exfoliating devices like microdermabrasion. It does not hurt my skin during use and feels comfortable. I just need to make sure as I continue use to not use this device too frequently. My skin is sensitive. So, If I over exfoliate in general, my skin rebounds with irritation bumps and redness. So, you will find out in my next post how often I can use this device without irritation.

Sonic Infuser:
I love the feel of using this device as a sonic infuser. It is such an easy step to add to your skincare routine. Rather than using your fingers, just smooth on those serums with the Labelle Ultrasonic Skin Spatula. So, as far as initial impressions, I like that it is easy to use and a nice sensation on your face. As far as results, you will have to wait for my next post, I might see some results within 4 weeks or it might be more of something that you would really need to see as long-term results as anti-aging skincare works preventatively. So, I am honestly not expecting to see huge results within a 4 week period. I would just hope to see less aging over time with use of the device.

Shopping Details:
You can find the Labelle Ultrasonic Skin Spatula at Trophy Skin. It retails for $149.00. While this is an investment, you do have to consider the alternative and the results. To get this type of facial experience at a spa, you would pay $50-$75 per facial treatment at a spa (plus tip!). So, it really is a long term investment and one that will give you results in the comfort and convienience of your own home.

Overall, I am super pleased with my initial trial of the Labelle Ultrasonic Skin Spatula from Trophy Skin. This multi-tasking device tackles two main areas of concern for me with my skin: pore clearing/exfoliation and anti-aging. My bathroom sure is cluttered with beauty products and devices. So, a multi-tasking device is usually a win in my book. Plus, I am really liking that this device is effective without being harsh on my sensitive skin. I am eager and excited to see what my results will be over time. So, be sure to check back in here in about 4 weeks for my final results with the Labelle Ultrasonic Skin Spatula from Trophy Skin.

I have this tool but it is by La Mieux. I love how it makes my face feel clean and my pores are no longer congested. I use it once a week on Friday night. Thanks for the nice detailed review. I enjoy reading your blog.
