My skincare routine is constantly evolving. Being a beauty blogger with a genuine love for skincare, I am frequently trying out new products. Sure, I have my everyday favorites that almost always stay in my routine. However, after periods of product testing for my blog, I many times rotate these new items into my everyday routine. This was certainly the case for these new items from CeraVe! When I try out something new that I absolutely fall in love with, it ends up being a skincare staple!

So, what initially drew me to these new items from CeraVe? Well, as soon as I read about the NEW Skin Renewing Day Cream and realized that it contained Encapsulated Retinol, I couldn't wait to try it! I am a firm believer in the power of Retinol. It is one of the most researched and *proven* anti-aging skincare ingredients. It works. Typically, I use retinol about every/other night in my skincare routine. I am always looking for more ways to add in more retinol into my routine. An everyday sunscreen with Retinol is a perfect way to get in more Retinol on a daily basis!

My Skin:
Before diving deeper into the reviews, lets chat a bit more about my skin. I always find it helpful to know the background of a product reviewer. So, let me share a little bit. That way, you can interpret my skincare results better! I have combination skin. It is right now leaning towards normal to oily (in the t-zone). I am in my early 40s, but am happy to say that I certainly don't feel my age and often get mistaken as being much, much younger. I really attribute this not only to genetics, but also to my years of using good skincare! My only signs of aging seem to be some fine lines around my eyes (that are most noticable when my skin is a bit dehydrated) and slight fine lines on the sides of my mouth and forehead. Really, my lines are not very noticable. I am highly interested in age prevention and keeping any other signs of aging at bay. My skin is also a bit sensitive. I have to be careful of product selection so that I don't increase redness nor get sensitivity reaction or irritation bumps. My skin is also very fair and prone to sunburns. So, a higher daily SPF is my best friend! In addition to all of this, my skin is somewhat prone to breaking out on my chin area and around my nose (usually hormonal related or if I use a product that is too rich for my skin type).

CeraVe Skin Renewing Day Cream with Sunscreen SPF 30:
So, as I mentioned, this Skin Renewing Day Cream with Sunscreen SPF 30 contains Encapsulated Retinol. I love, love, love the idea of boosting my skin's Retinol exposure with daily applications in my everyday sunscreen!!!

I must say, I do tend to be picky about sunscreens. My skin is sensitive and somewhat prone to breakouts. Sunscreens can sometimes trigger my breakouts. So, I have to be careful and selective with the sunscreens that I use. The good news: I had fabulous results with this sunscreen. I absolutely love it! It is completely non-greasy. Actually, it seems to leave my skin feeling matte with no shiny nor greasy residue or after-feel. Amazing!!! Also, the active sunscreen ingredients are generally the ones that work the best with my skin and do not seem to trigger breakouts nor sensitivity reactions: Octinoxate and Zinc Oxide.

Encapsulated retinol stabilizes and delivers retinol gradually and is clinically shown not to irritate the skin. CeraVe Skin Renewing Day Cream with Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Sunscreen also contains three essential ceramides (1, 3, 6-II) to help restore the protective skin barrier. Plus, it also contains niacinamide and hyaluronic acid and it provides broad spectrum coverage protection against UVA and UVB rays. Plus, it is fragrance free, non-irritating, non-comedogenic and hypoallergenic.

I absolutely love the texture of this sunscreen. It leaves my skin feeling smooth and lightly hydrated and matte. It is a perfect prep for my everyday makeup. Now, my skin is Combo and it is leaning a bit towards oily in my t-zone. So, I am not looking for an everyday sunscreen that is super moisturizing. So, this almost fits the bill...however, I do wish it was a tad more moisturizing. The GREAT news here is that CeraVe's other new product (the CeraVe Skin Renewing Gel Oil) is the perfect companion to the Skin Renewing Day Cream with SPF 30 Sunscreen! I just add in a couple drops of the Skin Renewing Gel Oil to the Skin Renewing Day Cream to get the perfect combination. I am obcessed!!! I love it and it works perfectly for my skin on an everyday basis!
