It is time for another update in my "My Skin Loves" blog series! This series is reserved for the "best of the best" in skincare! As ya'll know, skincare is my passion and the driving force behind my creation of this blog. Having combination skin that is prone to sensitivity issues, breaking out, and battling issues like dark circles and early signs of aging led me to a perpetual search for the best skincare out there! Hence my blog was created to share my experiences and let my readers know what works for me! During my quest for finding awesome skincare, I have certainly fallen in love with certain products and certain brands. My "My Skin Loves" blog series is reserved for the standout skincare products that I try from my favorite lines!
My Skin:
Before diving into this review, lets talk a bit more about my skin. It always helps to know a product reviewers frame of reference when reading a review. :) My skin type is combination. I am normal-oily (t-zone only) in the warmer months and normal-dry in the colder months. While I don't breakout very often, I do consider myself acne-prone. I need to be very selective with products in order to not experience breakouts. I am in my early 40s. So, anti-aging skincare is a must! I do not have any major wrinkles yet. However, I do have fine lines that crop up around my eyes and my mouth. These lines are more apparent when my skin is dehydrated. Also, my skin is sensitive. I am somewhat prone to redness and irritation bumps (if I over-exfoliate or use a product that irritates). Last, but not least, I have very dark under eye circles. I blame heredity, allergies, and general lack of sleep for these. Sigh!

Early Signs of Aging and How Kiehl's NEW Iris Extract Activating Treatment Essence can help:
We all dread those early signs of aging. Well, at least I know I do. We just notice that our skin just looks "different". According to Kiehl's, the early signs of aging are threefold: skin's hydration levels and rate of turnover decrease, while the integrity of skin's function and and cohesion of the skin's layers is reduced. So, their new Iris Extract Activating Treatment Essence was formulated to tackle these early concerns. The Iris Extract Activating Treatment Essence is an advanced liquid concentrate that penetrates to boost the skin's radiance, reduce fine lines, and improve dullness. Honestly, this product really is just what my skin needs. I am in my early 40s and I am exactly at that point where I am just starting to see signs of aging. I don't have major lines nor wrinkles. However, my skin is certainly not the same and I feel it doesn't have the vibrancy that it had a few years ago naturally.

Kiehl's NEW Iris Extract Activating Treatment Essence:
I can honestly say that I have never tried a treatment product quite like this one! You use it much like a toner...but, it is a skincare treatment! You apply this right after washing your face and before your other heavier skincare items like night cream. It is actually really easy to layer this product within your existing skincare routine. Just add it in right after cleansing and then proceed with the rest of your beauty routine. The formula allows it to layer very nicely with other products!
There is no question that this product is just what my skin needed! Plus, it is so super easy to use and an easy extension of my current beauty routine. I feel that after a few weeks of use, my skin generally looks healthier and more radiant. My fine lines seem less apparent, my skin seems smoother and softer, and my skin's texture feels softer. Another bonus? Even though my skin is somewhat sensitive, I did not have any issues with adding this product to my routine. It is very gentle to use! I am excited to have this product as a new long-standing addition to my beauty routine!
