Box Opening and First Impressions:

OMG! This is seriously the cutest Birchbox ever! Lets take a minute to really appreciate the adorable packaging. From the outer box to the box inside, everything screams "beach" and "fun" with the cute and colorful wave-design details. The inside of the box is laid out very well, too, with shredded paper and an information card.

What is even better than the cuteness of the packaging? The awesomeness of what is inside! This really is an amazing box full of beach-inspired goodies! I don't know about ya'll, but I certainly do switch up my product routine for Summer and beach vacations. With the Summer heat already blaring here in GA and a beach trip for us in 3 weeks, I am ready to dive right into these products!

Inside the Box:

• Anastasia Beverly Hills Lash Genius Waterproof Topcoat (Deluxe Sample, Full size retails for $21.00): Yay!!! Lash Genius! I am already a *huge* fan of this product and had it on my shopping list to get before we left for the beach! This product is amazing. Basically, it is a waterproof lash top coat that seals in the color and turns any mascara into a waterproof mascara. Your lashes will be totally protected from running! It works incredibly well. A Summer must-have! Plus, this deluxe size is a very generous sample. 

• Atelier Cologne Cédrat Enivrant Cologne Absolue (Travel Size Spray, Full size retails for $105.00): Birchbox has single-handedly introduced me to the Atelier line of fragrances. While I have loved many samples in my Birchboxes, I have never taken the plunge and ordered a bottle because of the high price tag. Well, this box has such a treat! A larger deluxe sized (it is like the size of a travel rollerball bottle: .25 fl oz) bottle of Atelier's Cédrat Enivrant Cologne Absolue. I always travel with fragrance...I just can't go a day without it. So, this one is going to the beach with me this year. I have a feeling it is going to become my everyday fragrance starting right now. It is so light and fresh...yet, it is also sophisticated and complex. I really love it! If you like light citrus scents, you will love this, too. 

• Captain Blankenship Mermaid Mane Sea Salt Spray (Travel Size, Full Size retails for $24.00): Ah-ha! A sea salt spray. What a good addition to a beach-inspired box. I mean, you gotta have a product to get mermaid-hair in a Mermaid box! ;) I am excited to try this! My hair texture has really changed (from hormones from having 2 babies recently)...my once stick straight hair is now slightly wavy. These sea-salt type sprays are great for coaxing more wave out of my hair. I can't wait to experiment with this. I want my hair to be non-fussy this summer. This could be a great fix for that. 

• COOLA Liplux SPF 30 Original Formula: (Full Size, retails for $12.00) A lipbalm with added SPF is a Summer staple. Every Mermaid needs this! ;) Sunscreens (oxinoxate, octocrylene, octisalate, and avobenzone) team up with lip moisturizers (shea butter, beeswax, and jojoba oil soften skin, while raspberry seed extracts and avocado butters) to both nourish and protect your lips. I have sampled COOLA's facial SPFs from Birchbox and really do enjoy the brand. So, I am super excited to have this lipbalm. I will use it all Summer and especially at the beach and pool!

• RUFFIAN Endless Summer Collection – Nail Polish Trio: (full size, retails for $26.50) I will admit, this nail polish collection is my favorite item in the Modern Mermaid box! These polishes shades are so gorgeous!!! The shades are totally Summer and really do have a mermaid vibe. The polishes pair beautifully together. The collection includes three beach-inspired shades: Blue Lagoon, a metallic blue; Endless Love, a metallic pink; and Sahara, a metallic nude. The high-quality polishes swipe on streak-free and opaque in a single coat—so you can spend less time on your mani and more time outside. Plus, can you get over the adorable packing of RUFFIAN polishes? These are just not your "standard" polish bottle! 

• Stephanie Johnson Mermaid Mirror: (Full Size, retails for $22.00) How stinkin cute is this mirror? Seriously, it is very "Mermaidy". I am in total need for a mirror for my purse. I am going to really enjoy pulling this beautiful mirror out of my bag for touch ups. It features and iridescent sparkly fish-scale looking outer covering with a snap closure. The inside has a travel-safe mirror. What is not to love? Plus, the quality is super nice! 

• Vasanti Kajal Extreme Intense Eye Pencil in Electric Navy: (Full Size, retails for $18.00) A mermaid must have? A Navy liner! I am so glad that this pretty liner is included in this box. Somehow, I always get in a rut with brown liner and forget how flattering navy can be. Especially since navy can make the whites of your eyes look whiter! Plus, this shade is very flattering to my blue eyes. The formula is waterproof and it just glides right on. Love it!

In addition to the Mermaid Box having a fabulous assortment of products, have I mentioned what an amazing value the box is? This box is packed with both Full Sized and Travel Size (bigger than a deluxe sample, in my opinion) items.
