The ghd Spring Limited Edition Peacock stylers come in a range of jewel-toned colors: sapphire blue, amethyst purple, and emerald green. I tried the purple as I am just a sucker for purple in general. The styler itself is the same as ghd's award winning ghd Gold Classic Styler (only it is in a different color and has different packaging).

The supremely cute yet elegant packaging "had me at hello". This Peacock Edition Iron comes in an adorable outer "keepsake" purple box (not sure why it looks so blue in my photos posted here! Must have been the lighting as it is purple.) with a peacock design.
Inside the box, is a purple satin roll-style zippered flat iron case. The case features the beautiful peacock design and silver hardware. There is no question, this is a high quality case that looks and feels very luxurious and high-end.
The case has a zippered dual compartment for the iron and cord. Quite convenient! The case secures with hidden magnets. When it opens up, it becomes a heat-proof mat for your bathroom sink/counter. I love this as I always want to set my flat iron on a heat-proof mat. It is also handy for storing and traveling with your iron as you can feel confident that you wont melt the case if you iron is still a little warm when you put it away.
Wow! This iron literally heats up to its maximum temperature in seconds! Seriously! Almost instantly this iron is *hot*! With that said, be super duper while handling this as the iron is extremely hot. Also, be good to your hair and use a heat protectant. I have been using Got2Be's Guardian Angel lately (which is pretty good if you don't mind a super-sweet scent).
The plates are ultra smooth. My hair literally just glides right through this iron. The iron itself is pretty lightweight, yet also durable. A lighter styler is better for tired arms. :)
For me, the instant heat up of this iron is what made me truly fall in love. I often skip flat ironing my hair. My hair is primarily straight. So, really I only flat iron it to make it look ultra smooth (my Hub *loves* it when I flat iron. But, often these "extra steps" (like flat ironing) get skipped because I am super busy and always running late as a new Mommy. The instant heat-up of this iron actually persuades me to flat iron more often! From the time I plug in the iron, I can be done flat ironing my hair in just minutes! Typically I only run the iron over the very top section of my hair. Results? Super smooth swoon-worthy salon shiny hair!
