Julep Maven: Intro Box Opening and First Impressions

Hello beauties! I have another "box opening" to share with you. As ya'll know, I *heart* monthly beauty sample subscriptions. Well, this box is different. It is not a "sample' subscription. It is a monthly box of full-sized nail polish and nail care/hand products! It is the Julep Maven box

I have actually reviewed the Julep Maven service once before. Julep sent me a PR sample of the box to review a few months ago (check out that review here). Well, I have been so happy with my Julep polishes that I decided to subscribe! It is only $20 a month. Yes, that is more than most monthly $10/month beauty sample service subscriptions...but, the difference here is that you are not getting a box of samples. You get a box of full-sized on-trend nail polishes and a nail/skincare treat...plus samples/extras too!

How Julep Maven works:
So, ya'll know the drill. You sign up on the Julep website and take a style quiz. I think that my style ended up being "classic"...but, the cool thing. If you do not want the particular box that month that goes with the style from your beauty quiz, then you can choose another box. I actually already had some of the polish that came with the classic look. So, for this month, I chose the "Boho Glam" Julep Maven Box. They have all the boxes pictured. So, all you have to do is select the one you want and they ship it out to you! This way you are guaranteed to like what is in the box!

Now, $20 per month is really a fabulous deal. Julep polishes are normally $15 each. So, a $20 box either gets you 3 Julep nail polishes or 2 polishes plus one full-sized product! What a good value! Now, I must mention, the Julep nail polishes are full sized, yet a bit small (just an FYI). Other perks of membership? 20% off all products on the Julep site plus free shipping! Also, you can feel good about your purchases as $1.00 from each nail polish sold goes to support women through the "Powered by Girlfriends" program.

I think that any Nail Polish fanatic would love a Julep Maven subscription!
So, lets open the box!
The Julep Maven Box: Boho Glam
As I mentioned, I opted out of the box this month that goes with my "Classic" style and instead went for the "Boho Glam" box.

This box is incredibly well packaged. The polishes are bagged, taped, bubble wrapped, and tied up with a pink ribbon. The box also contains shredded paper which protects the products and looks cute too.

Whats in the box?
  • Julep polish in Alicia (a creamy matte peach): Sunny salmon creme. Perfect for pedicures and fresh, modern manicures.
  • Julep polish in Portia (iridescent glitter, looks sheer blue in bottle but applies clear plus glitter). Sheer tropical blue with glittery sparklesthat will remind you of a day on the beach.
  • Julep "Facial for Hands" Glycolic Hand Scrub: Potent glycolic acid combined with apricot seeds provides powerful double exfoliation that leaves your hands feeling noticably softer and younger looking after just one use. Naturally scented with orange oil for a refreshing aromatherapy boost with each use.
  • Julep Nail File
I am so excited about these polishes!!! These shades are totally on-trend for Spring! I love all things glitter and have been very into peachy-polishes for the season. I can't wait to try out this Glycolic Hand scrub too! I got it in the previous Maven box that I sampled (but was pregnant then and not using Glycolics...).

Any other Julep Maven fans? How are you liking the polishes, the Maven service, etc? I know that I am looking forward to my next box!

Alicia looks really pretty but I'm incrtedibly disappointed by Julep Maven customer service. I will have a post on my blog regarding this soon.

I got a couple of the penny boxes from Julep and I LOVE their packaging and the idea of a polish subscription service (I'm addicted to polishes!), but the price point kills me. I'm still debating on if I should keep my acct or not :/

I've been subscribing since they started and I love this box. I've got tons of nail polishes and these never disappoint. Plus there's always something great in the package beside nail color.

@Gaby-I am quite curious to see your post. Customer Service is a big thing for me. I mean, these subscription services are supposed to be just about that the "service" itself. I will for sure check out your post!

@Krystal-Yes, you certainly are a fellow polish addict! :) Only time will tell if I keep subscribing...that and the customer service. I do like that you can opt to skip a month because, yes...$20 per month does get pricey.

@MarciaF-Great to hear! I am so glad you love your Julep service. Yes, the products included in the box besides the polish do seem great!!! :)

Ya'll check back in here tomorrow as I am posting about my first monthly Maven box tomorrow! The intro box and the April Maven box arrived back-to-back!

I absolutely LOVE being a Julep Maven!! I've grown to love the program move every month. Plus they have great mystery boxes and specials.

I wish the bottles were a different shape and full size, but ah well.

It is definitely one of my favorite sub boxes!!

@TheCraftyAngel-Yes, I remember you mentioning Julep before. Glad you still love it! I will have to keep an eye out for their specials. Yes, have to agree about the bottles, the slim shape makes them seem like they might be prone to knocking over and spilling. Hopefully I will never do that! :)
