Banish Your Winter-Dry Skin and Lips: Nivea Skincare

Alas, Winter weather always dries out my skin terribly. Plus, I'll admit (hanging head in mock-shame) that I love a hot steamy shower or long bath even though I know that they are torture for my skin. The relaxation benefits of a good hot shower or bath always wins with me. So, I arm myself with moisturizing products to combat the hot water and the cold weather.

For the past couple months, I have been testing out a variety of products from Nivea: Smooth Sensation Daily Lotion for Dry Skin, Express Hydration Daily Lotion for Normal to Dry Skin, Touch of Serenity Body Wash and a variety of their lip balms. These products are a nice treat for my dry skin. I'm really becoming a Nivea fan!

Of the lip balms that I tried, I liked the Kiss of Smoothness Hydrating Lip Care the best. Its light vanilla-like scent and smooth feel won me over. I keep this one in my diaper bag and apply throughout the day. It is lightweight and not too waxy feeling. It hydrates and leaves my lips feeling smooth. My only wish is that it had a higher SPF.

Nivea's new line of body products features "Hydra IQ Technology" which works to balance skin's moisture level and maintain touchably soft skin for 24 hours.

Touch of Serenity Moisturizing Body Wash: Hibiscus Blossom Scent

This is a nice treat in the shower. The product is creamy and it lathers well. I just squirt onto a body pouf and I'm good-to-go. It leaves me feeling clean and soft. I really like the scent...just delicious! The scent is Hibiscus Blossom...but I think I detect some apple in there too? Smells soooo good! 

Express Hydration Daily Lotion (For Normal to Dry Skin): Lotus Flower Scent

This is my hands-down favorite of this group of products. This lotion seriously smells divine. Without fail, my Husband tells me that I smell great every time this product is freshly applied on my skin. The scent is Lotus Flower. It is a perfumey and floral scent. Its light, but noticeable. Very pretty. Honestly, I would wear a perfume of this scent if they made it! Besides the lovely scent, the product works great as a lightweigtht moisturizer. It is absolutely non-greasy and fast absorbing. It leaves the body with a bit of a "sheen". I use this all over arms, legs, and my upper torso. On super dry parts I use Nivea's Smooth Sensation (see below). 

Smooth Sensation Daily Lotion (For Dry Skin): 

This lotion is quite a bit thicker that the Express Hydration Daily Lotion. So, it is thicker than a lotion but not as thick as a body butter. It contains super hydrating ingredients like shea butter and glycerin. This product has a typical "lotion scent" (nothing distinct). I like using this on my extra dry parts like elbows, knees, and feet (but you can use this on your entire body). 

Overall, I found some winners with these products. They are helping me combat my usual winter dryness and keeping me smelling great! I will totally repurchase the Express Hydration Lotion when I need a new body lotion. I can't resist keeping a product on hand with a scent that both my Husband and myself adore!
