Korres Eye Primer: A primer plus anti-aging ingredients

Hello my dear readers!

I have been testing out a new eye primer: Korres Eye Primer. The timing of this product testing was just perfect! I had just finished a tube of e.l.f.'s Mineral Eye Primer (yay! for using something up!!!). While the e.l.f. primer was pretty good for a $3.00 product, I was eager to try something new...especially a product that touts anti-aging benefits.

My eyes are my "trouble spots". I have very dark circles. I blame lack of sleep, allergies, heredity...and yes, even pregnancy for making my dark circles more prominent. I love testing out any eye product that promises to improve the eye area.

Are ya'll using eye primers already? If so, then you know that, in general, eye primers can improve the surface of the skin for better makeup application. They can make your eye shadows last longer and can make colors appear more vivid. Also, they can smooth out the appearance of any fine lines or wrinkles. While I don't have wrinkles yet, I do get some very faint fine lines when my skin is dehydrated.

Korres Eye Primer: Anti Ageing Eye Primer
As a huge fan of eye primers in general, I get extra excited when I hear words like "anti aging" in the product name, I get super excited! If you are going to prime your eyes anyway, you might as well get some extra anti-aging benefits, right? Besides providing a smooth surface for makeup application, Korres Eye Primer can minimize fine lines and wrinkles and keep makeup from settling into these areas. Also, it will increase your wear for eye shadows!

Korres Eye Primer is a 3-in-1 product: Eye Primer, Corrector, and Anti Ager. It (p)rovides a 360° smooth canvas around the delicate eye area, ensuring crease-proof, long-lasting eye shadow and concealer wear. Enriched with Quercetin & Oak extracts, it smoothes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles to provide smooth, softer skin, while visibly improving skin texture.

KEY FEATURES/BENEFITSCorrector: Built-in apricot undertone instantly corrects darkness and imperfections on the eyelid and underneath the delicate eye area.
Crease Resistor: Ensures long-lasting, crease-proof eye shadow and concealer wear.
Anti-ager: Smoothes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

The Skinny:
  • Texture: I love the silky smooth texture of this product! It feels so good on your skin. The product has a smooth feel without being greasy.
  • Application: I like to use this product primarily as a lid primer. But, you can use under your eyes as well. I have tried it both under the eyes and on the lids. But, I find that when I reach for it I usually skip the under eye area as I already apply 2 other products to my under eye area and I am always looking to shave time (and steps) off of my morning routine. To Apply: After letting my eye cream sink in, I just swipe product on lids and blend in with my finger. I follow with eyeshadow application.
  • Color/Pigmentation: The primer has a slightly peach sheer tint. Peach shades are fabulous for the under eye area as peach color-corrects for purple shades. So, if your dark circles have a blue/purple cast, then you might get some benefit from the peach tint. My dark circles are *so dark* that the peach tint did little to disguise the circles. However, if you circles are very light, then you might get some benefit. But, honestly, I wouldn't expect any sheer product to do much to conceal my VERY dark circles.
  • Retails for $21.00 for a .14 fl oz tube.
  • Anti-aging benefits? I tested this product out for two weeks (per BeautStat.com's request). So, it is too soon to discover the benefits of the antioxidants. As far as anti-aging, antioxidants are primarily preventative in nature. The benefits that I did see in two weeks: A smoother surface around the eye area. Fine lines were diminished as the product smoothed out my skin's surface and created a great base for eye shadow.
Overall, I really enjoyed testing out this product! I use eye primers daily to help increase the length of my eyeshadow wear and to increase vibrancy of eye shadows. This primer by Korres is certainly a good one. I enjoy the texture, find that it smooths in well, and it increases the look and wear of my shadows. I would certainly consider purchasing this product again when shopping for a new eye primer. I love that this product includes antioxidants!
