Review Time! Honeybee Gardens Mineral Color

Honeybee Gardens PowderColors Stackable Mineral Color

My exploration of natural cosmetics continues with Honeybee Gardens! Have you heard of this brand? Honeybee Gardens is a natural, cruelty free, and environmentally conscious brand. They specialize in all-natural bath and body care items and cosmetics.

The best part? These products are very reasonably priced! The cosmetics range between $6.99-$10.99. The company firmly believes that healthy and natural products should be affordable.

In addition to a variety of cosmetics, Honeybee Gardens also features haircare, lip care, body care, cosmetic tools, and a Men's line of products.

This review is for the Honeybee Gardens PowderColors Stackable Mineral Colors. For my review, swatches, and photos, please keep reading.

The PowderColors Stackable Mineral Colors are mineral pigments. The website states that these are multipurpose: Eyeshadow, Eyeliner, Lipcolor, and nailpolish. I primarily used these as eyeshadows. But, if you were feeling creative, you could add these mineral pigments to clear lipgloss or nailpolish to creat your own unique shade.

The PowderColors Pigments (in general):
  • .042 oz of shadow per container. These retail for $6.99 each. Great deal!
  • Cute packaging! I love the little screw top stack able clear jars. The bee on the lid is just adorable. The clear container is ideal as you can see what product inside. The stack ability makes it convenient and space friendly.
  • 100% Vegan
  • The PowderColors contain none of the following: dyes, lakes, carmine, PD&C colors, fragrance, talk, bismuth oxychloride, parabens, petroleum, or dimethicone.
  • Wide shade range with finishes from matte to full-on shimmer/sparkle! Ingredients: mica, kaolin, silica, potassium sorbate, chlorphensein. May contain: titanium dioxide, iron oxides, ferric ferrocyanide, rininus communis, seed (castor) oil, simmondsia chienesis (jojoba) seed oil.

I tried out the shadows in Angelic and Temptress. Both of these shadows were very pigmented. They applied well and wore all day over a lid primer. I personally find loose shadows to be a bit more messy to work with than pressed shadows and harder to travel with because of the loose pigment. But, once you get the hang of it, you can minimize spillage, etc. Its just totally a personal preference. No matter how you feel about loose shadows, these PowderColors Pigments by Honeybee Gardens are totally worth checking out as they are so beautiful and affordable!

Angelic:
Angelic is a sparkly iridescent pink with some slight lavender tones. Wow!!! What a beautiful ethereal shade!

This is exactly the type of light and sparkly shade that I am frequently drawn to (what can I say, I love pink!). This shade is absolutely beautiful on the lids and in the inner corner. The lightness of the shade and the sparkle really "wake up" your eyes. I either wear this as a lid color when creating a dimensional look or as a wash of color for all-over sparkle. It looks lovely paired with Temptress in the crease.
Temptress:
Temptress is a rich and deep brownish plum with a metallic bronze-ish sheen. When applied it wears as a deep plum with an iridescent or bronze flash. This color is incredibly complex! Depending on how the light hits the color it looks either plum, taupe, grey, or brown. I adore this effect! It is so nice worn in the crease or outer "v". I also like to use it wet with an angled brush as an eyeliner. Beautiful!!!

In summary, I love these Honeybee Gardens PowderColors Mineral Pigments. You truly don't need to pay high prices to acquire high-quality natural cosmetics! Now that I have tried the PowderColors Pigments from Honeybee Gardens, I am highly intrigued about their line of water-based nail polishes that are free from harsh chemical fumes! I am quite curious about how they will wear!

Are any of you into natural cosmetics or mineral makeup? I would love to hear if you have either tried Honeybee Gardens or you know of any great brands to recommend! Thanks for reading and stay beautiful!!!
