"Use It Up Challenge": update!

Hello there lovely readers! I am here with a "Use It Up Challenge" update!

Some of you may remember that back in November, I decided to start this challenge as a way to motivate myself to use up some of my products. I am running out of space in my bathroom and desperately need to get things used up! I am primarily focusing on hair products and "every day use" products. You know, the things that get daily use, but aren't often raved about as they might not be new nor exciting. I am only buying new items when I am completely out of an item in the same category. Example: No new leave-in treatments until *all* leave-ins are used. Also, I thought this would be a great way for me to share some product-love for items that might not ever get their own review. Like, I love my Aveeno shave gel, but may not devote a blog post to it. ;)

Here are the latest "use ups"

  • Aveeno Positively Smooth Shave Gel: LOVE this!!! I feared for awhile that this had been discontinued as I couldn't find it anywhere. I was so bummed! Then, it recently reappeared on the shelves with new packaging (larger size, slight "texture" on can, and the Allure mag "best of beauty" stamp of approval). I am so happy that this is back on the shelves at my local CVS! I am already ready to repurchase! Now, if only Aveeno would bring back the Positively Smooth Lotion! I used to love that!!!
  • John Frieda Sheer Blonde Spotlight Sleek & Shine Detangler: LOVE this stuff! This is the older packaging. I have about 3 tubes of this floating around my house and in my purse. I will never be without this stuff! Stay tuned to my blog as I will be reviewing this at some point in the near future. LOVE this!!!
  • Sonia Kashuk Barely There Loose Powder: My HG loose powder. Have repurchased a million times. Again, this is the old packaging. Will do a review soon on the newly packaged item (as I already replaced this empty).
  • Beyond the Zone Gettin Creamed Styling Cream: Have ya'll heard of Beyond the Zone products? Basically, it is a line at Sally's Beauty Supply that knocks off salon brands. This is a knock off of a Bed Head product (not sure which one). This is a great finishing cream for dry hair.
  • Aveda Volumizing Tonic: LOVE this too! I have been using this for years. It is great for styling and giving volume to my bangs. Time for more!

What have ya'll used up lately??? Anyone else challenging themselves?

I'm more of a makeup person so I've been using one gloss (Jordana INCOLOR LipShine Natural Glaze in Pink Grapefruit) for quite a long time in an attempt to finish it up! I'm doing the same for some lip balms and glosses, actually because I want to buy more! ;)

@Rizzie-Me too! I am trying to finish up a few glosses right now as well. I try to put the glosses I want to use in my purse or on my desk or counter at home. I just tossed some Rimmel glosses that I used up, but forgot to put in this post! :)

Good for you for taking on this challenge!! I'm so bad at never finishing ANYTHING! I honestly don't even know if I could tell you anything I've finished in the past 6 months... Terrible! Its a good idea to do it for products you use everyday though (like shampoo and shave cream!) I don't finish those things either.. lol I should really try this though because my bathroom is overflowing! Thanks for the update girl! :) XOXO

I actually use up hair and body products pretty regularly. It is makeup that I need to work on.

I wish we could get Sonia Kashuk here! I will have to add that to my list next time I hit a Target. I have never used the 3 minute miracle but have heard tons of raves. I went to find it the other day but they didn't have any at my drugstore so I just bought some of their 'moist' shampoo & conditioner b/c it smells so awesome. I used to use sprunch spray & forgot how much I love that smell.

It feels so good to finish a product, but before I know it I use 4 similar products alongside each other... Esp hair products, it makes my husband laugh...

When I came back to my apartment after winter break, I was very nearly sobbing because reorganizing my makeup to make it accessible took me hours. That was my motivation to start using stuff up. I'd love to get more into hair care products (mostly for voluminizing my flat hair) but I need space to put it first ><

Oh man, I need to do something like this. I am collector of all things hair. I really want to try that Aussie 3 minute mask but I can't seem to find it here in Canada. I will have to remember to look for it when im in the states next time.

@FunnyFaceBeauty-Hey Alicia! I hear ya, I love hair products too! :) I am really trying to get my cabinet cleared out! It does feel good to get things used up! :) And, yes, the Aussie 3 Min Miracle is always something I have in the shower! So inexpensive and works so well (smells yummy too!). :)
