It is that time of year again...time to embrace your SPF protection! Yes, you should use SPF products all day and every day all year long. However, it is of the utmost importance to stick to this routine in the Spring and Summer when you are outdoors more because of the nice weather. Plus, you are wearing shorter sleeves and lightweight materials. So, SPF application (and seeking shade when possible) is super important. With my family's history of skin cancer and losing a friend to Melanoma, I just don't mess around when it comes to sun protection. I protect myself and my familiy no matter what! So, I am always looking for great SPF protection that is gentle with elegant formulas that I am going to enjoy applying.

Recently, I have been using the MyChelle Sun Shield Unscented SPF 28 and the MyChelle Sun Stick SPF 50. These are both great options for SPF protection. So, let's talk about them.

Here are some details about each product from MyChelle:

Sun Shield Unscented SPF 28:

This is an antioxidant-rich unscented mineral-based SPF daytime lotion for the face. I have a strong preferance for mineral sunscreens and I always particularly like the ones that are a combination of Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide. This formula contains both. Also, it contains other nourishing ingredients like Aloe and Vitamin E to soothe the face and reduce signs of irriation while protecting the skin from the sun. I like that this daily SPF feels lightweight and absorbs quickly to leave a smooth, clear, and matte finish.

Key Active Ingredients:

Titanium Dioxide 0.67%–PhysicallyshieldstheskinfromUV exposure, disperses damaging UV rays to limit photo aging, and creates an occlusive barrier.
Zinc Oxide (ZinClearTM) 11.6% – A non-opaque Zinc Oxide that provides natural protection against both UVA and UVB rays.
Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice Powder – Assists in pain relief, reduces inflammation, rehydrates, and improves the skin’s natural UV absorption capabilities

To Use: I apply this in the mornings after washing my face, toning, and spot treating breakouts. Sometimes I use it on its own and sometimes I mix with a tinted sunscreen for some coverage.

MyChelle Sun Stick SPF 50:

This tinted, mineral-based sunscreen provides powerful UVA/UVB broad-spectrum protection and glides on smoothly with just enough color to enhance any skin tone. Avocado, Jojoba and Vitamin E Oils help moisturize and protect skin. Perfect for on the go—it won’t sweat off and has a light natural scent.

I love having a sunscreen stick on hand. I use this more to "spot apply" for reapplication as it is hard to get good allover coverage with any stick. This is perfect for my nose! Plus, I like the tint.

I am a big believer in wearing sunscreen *daily* and reapplying throughout the day. We must protect ourselves from the sun. Prevention is the key!
