Frownies: Eye Gels (First Impression)

I know that I am going to sound like a broken record, lol, but here it goes! With my lack of sleep with having a 6 month-old baby at home, my tired eye area needs all the help it can get!

My Eye Issues:
Major lines and wrinkles are not my problem (not yet at least!). I have a few fine lines here and there; but, those mostly crop up when my skin gets dehydrated or neglected. Also, depending on sleep, allergies, and diet, I can sometimes get puffiness around my eye area. Last, but not least, I am plagued by dark circles. Concealer is my best friend.

I am so excited to try out some products from Frownies! I have heard of the Frownies brand for years, but just had never given them a try. Beautystat.com sent me an entire Frownies kit for testing. All opinions in this post are my own and based on my personal experience with the product. Because I am in the middle of doing so much skincare testing right now, I am not testing out the full Frownies kit. I am just testing out the Eye Gels and the Frownies Rose Water Hydrator Spray. Also, I do not have deep wrinkles. So, I am really not the target market for the other Frownies products anyway.

To hear more about my initial impressions of the Frownies Eye Gel Patches, keep reading!

Directions: Initially you are to use these eye masks 3 consecutive nights in a row. After that, you can use once weekly.

The Skinny:
  • Available at the Frownies web site
  • You can get 3 pairs of eye gels for $29.95 (as part of an eye care pack that retails for $43.95).
  • The eye gels are reusable! You just put them back in their trays, insert into pouch, and then place in the refrigerator. You can rehydrate them using the Frownies Rose Water Hydrator Spray (I like this product too! I use it in conjunction with the Eye Gels).
Eye Gels contain; Cactus collagen, Bearberry, vitamin E, C, & B3 Hyaluronic Acids and other beneficial ingredients.

Rose Water Hydrating Spray with Hyaluronic Acid plums and preserves the eye gel technology.

My Experience:
These are so fun to use! After washing my face with a gentle cleanser, I apply the gels to the under eye area. The gels are wet and you just smooth them on to under eye area. They gels feel like a plasticy jelly-type material. You are supposed to "stretch out" your wrinkles before applying. That is not really an issue for me. But, I still try to apply the gels smoothly.

The eye gels are extremely comfortable to wear. They feel so soothing! I really look foward to the nights that I put on the eye patches as the whole process is incredibly relaxing. I put the gels on and put up my feet to relax and beautify!

After about 20-30 minutes, I just remove the gels from my eyes, place the gels back in their trays, spritz them with the Frownies Rose Water Hydrator Spray. Then I insert them into their origional foil package, then seal into a ziplock, and place in the refrigerator for later use.

My Results:
As I mentioned earlier, this is a "first impressions" post, not a long-term product review. So, I can't tell you how this product will work long term or over time. But, what I can tell you is that I am enjoying the "immediate" results from using this product. Right after removing the gels, I am amazed at how "de-puffed" my eyes are! Honestly, I didn't even know that they were so puffy and swollen until now. Now that the Frownies have zapped the swelling and puffiness, my eye area looks much nicer and more rested. These eye gels would be great for prepping skin before a special event when you really want your eye area to look the best that they can! Also, these gels would be great for morning use too after a late night or too much salty Mexican food, lol (that is when my eyes seem to look the most puffy!). Besides the fabulous de-puffing, my eye area looked smoother and firmer in general. The gels are very hydrating and that extra boost of hydration really smoothes out those very fine lines.

Here is the Frownies Kit:
Have you ever tried Frownies? Did you like the results?

My problem is also the puffiness from lack of sleep, eating too much salt, and who knows what else? Maybe this is just what I need. Thank you for a great review! Jean
