Tackle Life's Messy Kid Moments: Cleanup with Pledge® Multi Surface

It is Springtime! As a Mom of a toddler and a preschooler, I know that Springtime fun can often equal Springtime messes. My kids are super active this time of year. We try to play outside as much as possible as the weather really is beautiful. However, even when we play outside, the mess can certainly be tracked back inside. Springtime also brings heavy pollen and allergies. Pollen season in Georgia is no joke. So, sometimes the pollen and our allergies drive us indoors for playtime. My kids are so creative with their play...but, guess what? They are pretty good at making messes, too! I guess that means that they are having fun, right!? ;) From snacks, to art time, to sticky fingerprints all over, it can be hard for a busy Mom to keep her house in tip top shape. 

I try to get creative with our playtime in the Spring. We just traveled for Easter, so our Spring Break week was spent at home and around town. I had to keep the kids active and engaged with fun indoor activities like art, toys, games, kid cooking, snack time, etc as well as our usual backyard playtime, playground fun, and play dates. While I love outdoor play, since it keeps the mess outside, indoor playtime cleanup can be a snap with the right products (no need to squelch the fun!). 

Arts and Crafts are my kids' favorite things to do indoors. From coloring, to painting, to simple DIY crafts, it really is fun for everyone! My 4-year old daughter is pretty independent with markers and paint. However, I must really be hands-on with my 2-year old son. He loves using paints, markers, and crayons but, as you can imagine, paint and marker often get everywhere except for the paper! Using washable paints and markers is a must! However, I still must be prepared. I tie my daughter's hair back to keep it out the paint. I also use old kids tee shirts (cut up the back and worn backwards) as smocks to protect their clothes. I even use a drop cloth/matt on the ground to protect the floor. Even with all the precautions, I still have a ton of cleanup to do after our art activities are complete.

Sure, I get many ideas from Pinterest and sometimes get quite creative with our art-time. However, some of the best fun can be hand with art supplies that I already have on hand. The kids get so excited when I get their table set up to paint or color. Our most recent art time involved a little bit of coloring with markers followed up with a painting activity. My kids craft table started out clean but soon was covered with marker marks and paint splatters.
