From Light Lotions to Body Creams and Body Butters:
Today's theme is all about transitioning my body skincare from my "lighter" Summer products, to my more hydrating, richer, and sometimes even heavy moisturizers for Fall and Winter! Ok...So, I will admit...it is not *that cold* yet. However, as my husband always likes to remind me, I have a "2 degree" comfort range. So, even when that temp just drops a bit, its "cold" to me, lol! I have sensitive skin that gets dry in in the colder seasons. So, lets start bringing on those super hydrating products! I need them and crave them when my skin is dry. Plus, really, it is a great idea to be proactive! Start moisturizing now before it is literally freezing! :)
Today's post was inspired by three lovely tubes that I love reaching for lately: Lancome's Nutrix Royal Body, Aveeno's Positively Ageless Firming Body Lotion, and emerginC Scientific Oraganics Grape Stem Cell, White Tea + Seaweed Body Butter. The Lancome Nutrix Royal Body lives on my nightstand for my going to bed moisture ritual and the Aveeno Positively Ageless and emerginC reside right next to my shower for immediate application after my morning showers. So, these three are my current body skincare staples!

Using Lancome Nutrix Royal Body right before I go to sleep is one of my favorite bedtime rituals! :) I use it on my arms, legs, neck and decollete, and my feet. This Body Lotion is just so luxurious and such a treat to use. So, I reserve it for use at bedtime so that I can really savor the experience (lol, yes, I am a product-nut, right?). There really just is something about using nice lotion with such a lovely scent from a luxury brand that just feels so decadent and self-pampering. Honestly, it just makes me happy to apply this.
The Lancome Nutrix Royal Body lotion contains ingredients like Royal Jelly, Shea Butter and Chestnut Peptides. The light-textured lotion is such a pleasure to use! It absorbs easily and boosts my skin's own natural moisture barrier.
I find that I get immediate relief from any dryness and my skin feels instantly soothed and nourished. Plus, it leaves a really lovely sheen on my skin and the scent lingers. The lotion itself is pretty thick (for a lotion). It heals dryness quickly and absorbs leaving skin soft to the touch without much greasiness. While I primarily use this at night, sometimes I use it on my arms and legs during the day because I love the pretty sheen it leaves on my skin. It just honestly makes my skin look "better"! :)
Aveeno Positively Ageless Firming Body Lotion:
I absolutely LOVE the feel of this formula! This rich and moisturizing lotion has such a lightweight and refreshing feel. This is my go-to body lotion to apply after the shower with a focus on my legs, torso, and areas of my body that I want to give some extra "firming" to! When I apply it to my legs, I really massage it in. I am not sure if that is what helps but I feel that somewhat vigorous application really does help to "firm" the target area!!! Not to mention, the simple act of applying this lotion and massaging it in gives my body and skin such an energizing boost in the mornings. The scent is very light and clean. Plus, the lotion absorbs quickly. So, it really is perfect for application right before getting dressed. You don't have to wait around for this product to absorb in before getting dressed. Not to mention, Aveeno packs in some great anti-aging and skin-loving ingredients like their ACTIVE NATURALS® Natural Shiitake Complex.
emerginC Scientific Organics Grape Stem Cell, White Tea + Seaweed Body Butter:
I really love everything that I have tried from emerginC and this awesome Body Butter is no exception! This 100% natural (and 70% organic) body butter is packed with anti-aging skincare ingredients to make your skin look and feel better and younger from the inside out. Ingredients include: grape stem cells, spirulina, algae, green and white teas, shea butter, jojoba seed oil, vitamins A, C and E, palmariapalmata, pine bark extract, and more. I love the fresh citrus scent, too! I put this body butter all over when I am super dry. For everyday, I apply this to my feet, knees, elbows, and hand and cuticles (as these are my super dry places). Even though this body butter is rich and thick, it really dosen't feel greasy on the skin. It absorbs rather quickly and leaves your skin super soft and smooth.
What body products are you loving as you transition to cold weather? If you haven't found anything great yet, I highly recommend these products mentioned above! :)
