Pure Argan Oil from Maijan: Multi-Purpose Oil!

Have you discovered Argan Oil? know I am a bit "late to the party" with my discovery of Argan Oil, lol!

What is Argan Oil?

Argan Oil is a multi-purpose oil from Morocco. It has a long tradition of being used for protecting and moisturizing the skin and hair. It is a rare oil and it is naturally full of beauty-beneficial nutrients. Argan Oil naturally contains omega-6, Vitamin E, and antioxidants.

Now, you might be thinking "oil for my hair/skin: no way!" Well, I thought the same thing before exploring cosmetic oils. Years ago, my initial reaction to using oils was "Why would I want to make myself oily?" Well, it turns out, there are many cosmetic oils that are non-greasy and are really fabulous for your skin and hair.

My intro to using oils for skincare/haircare was actually Jojoba Oil. Now, if I want to be technical, Jojoba Oil is actually a liquid wax. But, you know what I mean. So, point being, once I started using oils on my skin, I realized how much I like them! So, as you can imagine, the more I read about the Argan Oil hype, I knew that I had to try Argan Oil for myself!

Maijan's Pure Moroccan Argan Oil Grapeseed & Essential Oils:
Maijan's Argan Oil is a pure Argan Oil blend. It is made with pure and organic Argan Oil from Morocco. It must be noted, this is not 100% Argan Oil. It is Argan Oil mixed with other pure ingredients and natural oils. While this is not 100% Argan (if it was, this product would be way more expensive!), it isn't oil mixed in with Silicones like many other Argan treatment "oils" out there.

Ingredients Include:

• Organic Argan Oil
• Grapeseed Oil
• Geranium Oil
• Ylang Ylang
• Rosewood Oil
• Vitamin E

The Many Uses of Argan Oil:

• Hair: Nourishes dry and frizzy hair. You can use it as a finishing oil (just a couple drops) on the hair ends or as a deep treatment (leaving on a few droppers full 15 minutes to overnight). 
• Face: Massage a few drops directly onto the face or mix into your usual moisturizer.
• Skin: Apply anywhere that you need extra softness. You can use a few drops directly or add it to your usual body moisturizer.
• Hands/Cuticles: Massage the oil directly onto the cuticles.

While this product has many uses, I primarily use it as a leave in conditioner for my hair. I just drop out a couple drops from the dropper onto my fingertips. Then I distribute through the ends and length of my hair.

The Strong Scent:
I warn you, this product has a very strong scent. I am often very sensitive to skincare products with strong scents and I also have allergies. This Argan Oil is just too scented for me to use on my face or body. A couple drops in my hair or on my cuticles is about as much of this scent as I can tolerate. Actually, I believe it is the Ylang Ylang that I smell. The scent is very pleasant. I just think it is a little too strong for my personal preference. If scents do not bother you, or if you love Ylang Ylang...then this will be a non-issue for you. If you are like me and are somewhat sensitive to scents, I encourage you to order the non-scented version.

The Packaging and Price:
This product is packaged in a glass bottle with a dropper. The bottle is 2 fl oz. The bottle usually retails for $49.95 but is on sale for $25.00. Since I only use a few drops at a time, this little bottle will last me a very long time! So, it is a great value!!!

The Product Feel:
This oil is amazing. It starts out very oil-like (slick) and as it absorbs into your skin or hair it sinks in and is completely non-greasy feeling! It just leaves your skin smooth and hydrated and your hair smoothed down and shiny. It literally feels like my skin and hair "drink" this oil right in! I am amazed! Skin and Hair oils, where have you been all my life?

Scent issues aside, I will continue to use this product! I like how it works as both a cuticle softener and as a hair smoother! However, next time I order an Argan Oil, I will make sure it is not scented.
